Oh my gosh, what an insightful video. I can't believe I didn't notice the nuance to the way the soundtrack interacts with the story! It is SO in character for Kuraine to score a scene where two friends who look down on themselves illustrate the strength they see in each other by *having their instruments play each others themes.* It works so so well and I'm so glad you brought details like that to my attention! I loved the way you explained it all, too, because the story you tell with this video works so well with the subject- especially that anecdote about how you found yourself putting more thought and love into painting the world after that scene purely because you fell in love with the characters. Great work dude!
Wow, thanks for such nice words! I really appreciate it. If you haven't, check out Kuraine's retrospective for Chicory's soundtrack. It covers a ton of stuff like this in the game.
Excellent video, there isn't nearly enough people talking about this game. What you said about the dynamic between Pizza and Chicory is really insightful, for obvious reasons I was much more focused on Pizza's perspective of themself and Chicory during my playthrough, but now that you've framed it I can really see how much the two mirror each other. Underrated as hell video, keep on making bangers
Amazing video Peter! This hit home for me as I loved Chicory as much as you did. Your analysis of this scene is something I hadn't considered during my playthrough but I completely agree, from that point on I felt much more invested in the game too. Much like Pizza (I also called my character Pizza, go figure :D ) I was all the more inspired to paint after getting Chicory as a real ally. On a side note, I've gotta recommend Songbird Symphony to you as a game like Chicory in a lot of ways. It's main character is a wholesome, hopeful, cute as hell animal, it's got a unique gameplay mechanic, the story touches on some similar notes and the music is amazing and intertwined with the story in a big way. I think you'd really enjoy it!
This was an incredible video! I knew the music in Chicory was impactful and certainly was one of my favourite parts of the game, but your analysis really helped it click as to how well it works in this scene especially. Definitely subbing now!
I like how the community has basiccaly chosen that pizza's name is well pizza and his color is that one random supper woods orange

How does this have such little views 💞
Not gonna lie, this game looks really interesting
Leave it to Peter to gush about a weird Indie we've never heard of
Dang it. Now I want to play this.
You absolutely should! We don't tend to make videos about games not worth playing, well except Unrailed....
