Listen, Bo wants to be a star. The people who become massive stars in the ufc fight more than 3 times a year when they're coming up. It's how conor became so popular. It's how izzy cemented his legacy and stayed so popular. It's why everyone loves Alex. Everyone knows there is an expiration date on these guys in their prime, and people want to gather around those who try and do as much as possible before the clock runs out. inactivity sucks, and absolutely kills hype trains.

Bo has beaten 3 unranked guys in ufc , hell one of them wasnt even in the ufc . How could anyone think of putting him higher than he is ? Man himself said he wants to progress slowly and keeps agreeing to fight theese weaker guys

@@ghostrunner2138 don’t get me wrong I think he has the talent to become a legitimate star but we just haven’t seen enough of him. I understand not throwing him to the wolves but at some point he needs to give us a reason to remember his name.

I think anyone would have their hands full with Bo, Hes biding his time like his trainers told him so he gets some experience. Hes been vocal.
Casually complementing that Iranian wrestler by saying how impressive it is that a 135.5 pound father produced a 211 pound son is the most subtle way I've ever heard someone call out a dude for being juiced to the gills.
Nickal would be a lot better off if he had adopted the Askren model. Go to another organization, clean it out, troll Dana, come into the UFC & get big fights right from the jump. Instead he's fighting for a smidge better than 5 & 5 a few times and mostly just languishing in inactivity while the UFC struggles to promote a codger fight like Jones vs Miocic.
anyone remember The Contender series for Boxing? with Sylvester Stallone and Sugar Ray? anywhere to watch that series still? I remember Peter Manfredo from Providence and Sergio Mora on there had good fights.

@@haxed_3613 Khamzat never wrestled at the world level. Bo wasn’t 15 in the story Chael is talking about, he was in his 20s at a World Championship tournament. The dude who whooped him got banned for Steriods and also whooped Kyle Snyder and others. If you are trying to compare Khamzats wrestling accolades to Bo then you obviously just don’t know.

The UFC and Chael glazed Bo so much, yet he never gained traction. He's not UFC material, look how shit his fight with MVP was. He would get absolutely mauled by someone like Whittaker or Strickland.
How about loser of Chimaev and Whittaker gets Bo… then after Sean and DDP, if Bo is still on winning streak, he gets loser of Sean and DDP. Win that, either title shot or number one contenders match… that’s a good look imo, don’t mean it’ll happen that way. But Bo is gonna hold that belt

As someone who has sat in on only a few of Bo’s fight negotiations, I can tell you no one wants to fight him.
Bo doesn't want to fight the guys calling him out, joe pyfer and Paulo Costa would tear him up on the feet, and he probably can't take them down either , dude ain't about that punch life unless it's a TIN CAN
I sat in on 5 different meetings and there has been a few that have agreed to fight him.

I've been wondering when Bo is fighting next and also thought it was odd and disappointing he didn't fight at least 4 times this year.

Bo and DDP came to the UFC at the same time. DDP is the world champ and even defended his title beating the very best in the division. BO still has fought nobody. He doesnt take any chances. He doesnt create opportunities for himself
@@iluvmywifesomuch Here is the facts: DDP came to the UFC in October 2020 at 14-2 with over hour and a half of professional cage time. Bo made his UFC debut in March 2023 with less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds of professional cage time.. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SITUATIONS
He is not fighting enough. He is fighting guys who are unranked yet continues to have long breaks between fights. Ridiculous. He needs to fight a top 10 guy and get on with it. I think he has potential, but simply does not fight enough or against good enough competition to draw the audiences attention. Paul Craig is an ok fight for him, but he needs to fight again in 3 months, not 6 months….his career is going nowhere fast.

GSP was the UFC world champion in less than 3 years with the company and less than 5 years in the sport. At the rate that Bo Nickal fights, he might get a title shot by the year 2033. It's the same with any good fighter in the UFC. The UFC wants you for life if you can make them money. They don't want you fighting other top fighters, taking loses here and there and signing with other organizations while you are a top 5 guy in the world. They want to baby you along so that by the time you are barely still in your prime you can fight for the belt. Then if you lose, oh well, he's at the end of his career. If you win, you fight the same two or three guys for the last years of your career. Either way, they got you young and milked you for all you were worth. Look at the GOATS. they fought all the time and against the best there was. That's why you will never hear Bo Nickal or Paddy or Chimaev were Goats. They never had the hard road to greatness that GSP or Anderson or Khabib had. The title defense records will never be broken because nobody will be able to defend that many times at the rate of 1 fight every year or two.
Except most contracts stipulate that the UFC has to offer 3 fights a year. So when a fighter isn’t fighting, it’s not the UFC keeping them on the shelf.
@@codycast Yeah, I don't believe for a second that current UFC contracts say that. I didn't believe it 4 years ago when Dana first said it. I may be nuts, but that's what I think. Maybe if the UFC doesn't offer them 3 a year, they have to "compensate the athlete" but I can see the UFC paying them a small amount to keep them on the bench awaiting the perfect card they can do big business with. I don't know, maybe you're right. Athletes in general like to do as little as possible these days. Thanks @codycast.

In regards to their pay for the fight… that’s already spelled out in the contract that both the UFC and the fighters agreed to. So there shouldn’t need to be a negotiation for each fight. I’ve never heard of the UFC offering less than they agreed to. But I do see fighters demanding more than they agreed to.

I've been saying this for a while. Dude takes little to no damage. Why is he taking 6+ months between fights.
He's very good. But not dominant. He needs more fight time to be truly great. Sparing and training only gets you so far.

Bo’s 7th fight is coming up and he is being asked to fight a guy who has wins over UFC champions. Dana is right to allow him time between fights to develop in the background(not to mention him having a kid last year and coaching athletes at the Olympics this year taking time away from training). Most guys have 2-3x the fights and 5x the cage time by this point of competition. Not to mention he’s on the PPV because he sells 25000 PPVs himself from the old wrestling guard who actually buy the fights and not illegally stream. It’s an obvious business move by the UFC. You “fans” don’t care about what fighting method is effective, you care about dude flailing arms hoping someone gets clipped and it’s sad. You guys hated Volk for his style until he fought Islam because it was effective and not knock out oriented.

There is this thing called "Improvement" Chael. And it only happens when you do the thing you wanna improve on. In this case, fighting. And you can only improve at fighting by fighting. Training doesn't really do that. If Gable Steveson starts to train mma today, in 2027 he wouldn't even touch Tom Aspinall in a fight. But if he trains and fights 10 mma matches in those years, he would. You get it? He isn't fighting best guys right now because he only fought 6 times
Also, yes Bo needs to fight more. 2 times in a year is terrible but if he fights 4 times for example, he would need to fight a top 5 guy at the end of the year. Because people HATE when this guy who's only 6-0 fights someone who isn't a killer. Also fighters that aren't killerd, probably won't fight him. So that's why he can't be active
