I've seen so many closet tour videos over the years. While many closets are 'fancier' with inbuilt inserts and lighting, your closet is perhaps the most practical use of space I have seen. It is a good blend of function and aesthetics and I am assuming you will further decorate the space in phase 2.
I love how you have utilised every inch of space and that moving island is genius! I also like how you tried out the space before doing a custom build (I did the same before I invested in a custom closet). Congrats on the upgrade and I look forward to the next phase.
Thank you. I’ve seen some beautiful super fancy wardrobes. My friend even has one that is stunning and has all what you mentioned. I think they are out of this world but it’s so expensive and one day we may move again so that worried me to spend all that money. I def was focusing on utilising the space to the max and be super functional. I did go for all the really simple features, mines really simple but they offer lots of fancy designs. I’m looking forward to sharing phase 2 x

Thank you. Yes I love open too, I loved it so much which is why I didn’t rush changing it for four years. But def more happy with it like this, more clean cut and easier to manage.

Very nice closet! Thank you for sharing. For boots, I found that it was easy to buy and cut those foam tubes for summer swimming pools. I found that tip on a blog and found it very functional.
I love this, it's timeless. It won't look dated in a year's time and you have given consideration to your whole collection of beautiful pieces. I imagine it gives you so much joy and so much calmness.....a calm feeling I mean. You look so beautiful and glowing. All ready for your baby!

So thankful for viewers like you!!!! This was exactly my thinking I wanted it clean and fresh so I could think and have a simple background. People seems to either ignore or skipped the part when I mentioned (a few times) that this was phase one and I am super excited to add my tweaks, I needed a blank canvas as that will allow me to add my extra features. Just shows some people either don’t listen or see the bigger picture; they can’t imagine what I can.

Im quite surprised, your house is just so beautiful and your collection is out of this world I thought it would look very different. It’s really basic and kind of Ikea looking, this is something I feel like I could achieve lol, I was expecting to be blown away and it was going to be like my dream closest. Your floor was so nice before it just looks normal now. All that matters though is that you like it obviously I’m just surprised

My floor is beautiful I wouldn’t want any other floor. It’s solid oak and we had the UKs best specialist in to create the blonde wash. We waited a year for him. It may be normal to you but this is very high end floor, the best quality solid oak and timeless. It’s perfect in my eyes and not fake chevron, man made or laminated to appear Parisian on camera. I’ve seen many wardrobes recently with laminated floor that looks cool on camera but I wouldn’t have that in my home, I want good quality and solid wood that feels nice in real life.
As for the Ikea comment, the quality of my wardrobes are lovely and been fitted very stream line. Ikea wardrobes are chip board and literally floppy with multiple holes. Maybe you didn’t hear my phase two mention, where I’m changing work tops and customising the doors. I can see a bigger picture and tried to explain that. Maybe you missed/skipped that.
This is exactly what I wanted. I was very happy with my Ikea closet, I actually loved it but I upgraded it to fitted, more streamline, better materials and more bespoke. You can’t create a floating island unit with just Ikea materials, a lot of work and design went into that to make it durable and work well. Maybe you are surprised because you made an assumption that I’m a millionaire lol But as you said “all that matters is that I like it” which is correct, I really love it and it was my choice to go super simple because of my future idea. The idea couldn’t be created with ikeas wardrobe doors because of the chip board so I disagree it’s like Ikea. The company offer more intricate wood panelled or mirrored doors, the price is very similar too but again, I chose this for a reason, simple was my choice. Sorry my “simple” choice disappointed you but for me it’s what I wanted for this home. If more people feel like they can achieve this and recreate the exact look, that’s great to me, I love to hear this 💛

Absolutely love this Claire. Seems so much more useful and sustainable use of space. The fittings all flush which wins massive points. I hate seeing these fitted wardrobe with odd gaps and weird corners. I just adore it. Got such a lovely homely feel from it too. Not a fan of overbearing show home type spaces. Hope your enjoy it but can't wait for all the styling hauls in this space ❤

I LOVED your previous set up. That was definitely my dream closet haha.
The set up was the same, the dressing table replaces the sofa, I added the island unit and more shelving. The doors were way more practical for what I needed, I didn’t like taking photos standing in front of my clothes and sometimes it looked messy. For me it’s the same set up but improved 😬

Preferences are so different therefore and I always love when a space reflects someone personality and aesthetic. I approached my own wardrobe the exact same way so I can really appreciate all of the details you added.
