Future Neighbor a lady here and yes I would love to try her natural toner please. Btw, your mom reminds me of a cool kdrama mom (say 김해숙 in 아버지가 이상해). I ❤❤❤ her!
To be honest this banchans came really handy for Ramadan, I'm just making them on the weekend so in the working days I have tasty veggie dishes with zero efforts. Loving your mom and grandma :)
Dan-yul, yours is not a cooking channel. It is a wonderful portal that transports us to the beauty of Korean culture, through different generations (grandma, mom, you), through different Korean immingrants geolocations, and how they affects their meals. Cooking is the air ticket to a most wonderous journey. We thank you for the opportunity to travel with you.
I've been binge watching your videos for the past few days... I love your simple technique, chemistry with Katie, and relationship with your mom/grandma. :) Reminds me of my family in a way, since I'm Korean-American too. Keep up the great work on your channel!
Hey Thanks Norae! Appreciate the comments. Yes, this channel has been a very enjoyable project. Hope to continue going strong over the year(s)! P.s.: Come join us in the kitchen soon 👋
Hello Daniel! These recipes seem ideal for hot California summers meals! That okra looks and sounds amazing! 🙌🏼 I have really been enjoying your recipes with your mom and grandma. (It must be nice having a production team LOL) It’s so wonderful to have them sharing their techniques and recipes with us neighbors. And I’m so ready for your mom’s DIY toner! You should definitely do a Future Neighbor fan meet! I’m in So Cal and my family and I would love to meet you while you are still here! (That way, my husband and daughter can thank you personally, for the guidance you & Katie have given me in preparing delicious Korean food for them!) As always, keep up the inspirational work!
Yes Rikki! I hear you - would be nice to meet you in person as well :) This trip around - our schedules are packed. Taking my family on vacation + got a few more weddings to attend. I think Katie and I may be coming back to the US later or early next year. Will have to put up a meet-and-greet then. Will be nice to meet and share a meal ;)
When my mum taught me how to cook fish she told me the 3s in german: säubern (clean), säuern (make sour) und salzen (salt it). Funny how it is basically the same everywhere! 😊
Future Neighbor my mum also usually used lemon juice or in rare cases vinegar on the raw fish. She taught me that fish needs acidity. As we usually pan fried our fish we did not use lemon slices but the idea behind it is the same. 😊
I love this series with your mom so much! You're lucky to have a mom who cooks. My mom learned to cook from my grandma who was from the 'boil it until it's grey and dead' style of cooking.
Yay yay more banchans that’s I can try out !! And Danny you may be your Mum English helper but she definitely is the boss in the kitchen! And yaasss okras is one of my favourite vegetables!love the video .we need to see you and your mum do some kind of food challenge !!
your channel is just the best! I love the two of you guys, and your mom and grandma! Please continue bringing us new recipes! I am trying your moms kimchi recipe tomorrow! I will be making it for the first time! :D
I had okra for dinner I popped them in my ramen. It made my ramen kind of glutinous. These recipes are far more flavorful and delicious. Thank you! Your 어머님 is soo gorge. Both of you have amazing skin
These recipes came just in time. My shishito peppers in my garden are producing so much now. Lol we must have some psychic thing going because I just planted okras, too. While watching, I was thinking your mom is aging so well & what was her secret. Thats just too hilarious of a reveal in the end.
I just made the mackerel recipe! It really was amazing de lemon makes a difference too. My boyfriend doesn’t really like mackerel but he loved this one! Thanks :)
I love okra so ill certainly try this banchan recepie. Also please do a video on korean skin care - home hacks and how did your mom make the lemon toner. Please.
Hi. Can you write me the name of the leaf used in the last dish? I have never seen it in my country. Love Korean food, love this channell and love Your mom 😊
all these look so good! TT I was wondering if you can recommend me some banchans for me to make that are a bit longish lasting? As i live alone and would like to have some banchans ready to be eaten in the mornings with rice or soup!! hehe~~
Great banchans! I like the palette at your kitchen sink for Mom. What else is in her toner other than lemons? The acidic acid in the lemons works to remove dead skin cells. I would love if she gave us her recipe for the toner!
Yum, how delicious. Did the okra need more cooking than the 3 minutes? I've undercooked it before and it was a bit nasty lol. My family (we are indian) fry off okra that's been sun dried a little with cumin seed, mustard seed, onion and garlic. It's one of my all time favourite things to eat.
Woaaah looking at that okra made me crave for nigerian okra soup lmao but ill try fo sure your moms recipe!! and that microwave tho?? i thought first why the hell is she putting the bowl in a drawer lol
For our ladies... would you be interested in trying a (homemade) lemon-based toner for your skin? I can ask my mom for the "recipe" if ya'll want 🙃
Future Neighbor why is this a question, hell yeah!!
yes please!
Of course! I’m all about that skin care! 😉
YES LOL

Can you explain more about the second part: säuern?
Future Neighbor my mum also usually used lemon juice or in rare cases vinegar on the raw fish. She taught me that fish needs acidity. As we usually pan fried our fish we did not use lemon slices but the idea behind it is the same. 😊
Omg when shes rubbing your back at the beginning. So cute!!!

Can I use Padrón peppers? We don't have fresh Korean peppers in Finland.
I bought a bottle of chogochujang and wondered what to dip into it. I wonder what else would go well with it apart from kelpwraps. 😊

Okay, now I will go forth and cook mackerel without fear. Your mom is so beautiful. I think we could all use her toner recipe, Daniel.
Your mom is so pretty! Nice teeth, skin and everything! You guys are funny (tsp vs tbsp and you were like “no!” Hahaha
Haha, she found it so awkward to be cooking with these clanky plastic measuring spooons. Threw her off her game a little bit!
Future Neighbor ya it’s hard to cook when you’re used to just throw stuff in and not measuring.
your mom is a light beam! so beautiful!
Finally dan oppa hooking us up with the supreme make yo mama proud dishes 😜
Haha love that you remember .... #makeyomommaproud ☺️
They all look delicious!! But just curiousity of mine.. How your mom made that toner? Wkwkwk.. Maybe someday you can share it.. 😁
