i have to be honest and i cant remember what build i had going on then, on haleys rig we run the stock traxxas shocks with free frame mod on the rear, on the Colorful Comanchee, i do the same, sometimes i use 77-117MM monster truck shocks on the front with no springs, but i custom them too so they are closer to 75-116, cause with most RC crawler shocks you buy a bigger 120mm shock but the have less travel because they make the tubes bigger like 90mm so you lose 25mm of travel, i wanted the most compression with the most reach, the brand losi, the shocks they dont make anymore, hope that helps, just play around with stuff be open to wasting money, its all part of the fun, happy trucking! thank you for watching, if you want to know more then you will have to watch more :D i just change my rigs pretty much every episode, have a great day!
14:10 I would love to build this exact truck. I have absolutely no fuckin clue what parts i need or where to get them, but i'd buy that truck as is and I'd be happy af lol.
these trucks are almost always custom built too, so the search will be hard, but worth it. i would recommend finding a local comp. group and ask if they have any rigs for sale, its a great way to get a fantastic deal of top of the line rigs, take care and best of luck!
@@JT_JET ughh I knowwww! That's the bad part about these builds, there is no template. I wish I could just go look at a spreadsheet or hell even a video here on youtube with like... all the specs. What linkage length do you need for X chassis, or will this specific motor mount work in a specific chassis... does an axle need to have offset diffs for X motor mount and transmission combo AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I just want a truck lol. Unfortunately, I've looked at all the crawler sites and forums I can find, and apparently where I'm at here on the east coast there is quite literally zero gatherings and meetups within about 4 hours from where I am. Which is crazy to me because the area I live in is absolutely perfect for crawling and rock bashing and ALL THE THINGS! Hell, the Appalachian Trail runs right through a nearby town... and yet still I can find no courses or meets =[. We DO have one particular RC shop that carries SOME crawler parts, but they don't specialize in any one area of RC and carry all sorts of stuff, which means they don't have any nitty gritty stuff for crawlers and bashers aside from super main stream things like ProLine and Axial products. I'm pretty sure i'm stuck with just buying parts online and hoping they go together when they get here lol
@@LauraDelvecchio almost everyone makes stuff for axial scx10 - 10'2 so thats a safe RTR that you can customize after. i did it with RTR trx4sports, all our trucks are built on that as a RTR then completely custom hard body is all i do, with some added brass down low of course. please check out the build series ive done on the garage talk. just go through it quickly i garuntee it will give you all the knowledge and covidence needed to just jump in and start building. yes i understand wasting money sucks, i come from dirt and money to me is fictional, ill never have any but the first purchase is the most expensive after that the upgrades and stuff will say what it fits and its kinda part of the hobby is building and upgrading yourself so its all risky i suppose. but as far as finding a community, i know people hate this but i always find them on FB, most of RC peeps are older dudes that been doing before social media so the only one they have is FB and you dont need to friend them, there are groups, hundreds for each state, i would suggest making a profile, go to groups and jsut type RC rock Crawlers, thousands will pop up. heres the link for garage talk, the reason why i dont build trucks for others is theres no way to insure you get what you pay for as im just blue collar guy with no connections. best of luck and happy trucking! ruclips.net/p/PLwc1XJzz50iVIIg9x0BeLTrRxbtphT6kK
@@JT_JET I'll definitely be checking out the playlist. Thanks for the replies! I should've mentioned earlier, I had built (overbuilt you could say) a Redcat Gen 8 and that truck while capable in it's own ways absolutely does not crawl the way sorrca class 2 trucks do lol. So i can certainly at least attest to being able to modify a truck, I just am still fairly new when it comes to the really good crawlers out there and while I can find infinite information on how to modify an RTR, I can almost barely find any information regarding starting from absolute scratch and building a truck from the frame rails out. But yeah, love watching your videos thank you for documenting the runs, can't wait to see more. Cheers!
@@LauraDelvecchio oh okay yeah, you got it no worries. id say just dont be shy on emailing people before you buy parts and ask if it will work with another thing. i would recomend checking out Flub RC and Dlux Fab RC they are booth local manufactures of RC crawlers parts and full rails to tires bodys and more. they are part of WRCCA which is the counterpart to SORRCA and most of what you see here on the channel. from the sound of it, you just gota take the leap and start building, were in the same boat, best of luck! thanks for watching :D

Cheers!
@@LauraDelvecchio oh okay yeah, you got it no worries. id say just dont be shy on emailing people before you buy parts and ask if it will work with another thing. i would recomend checking out Flub RC and Dlux Fab RC they are booth local manufactures of RC crawlers parts and full rails to tires bodys and more. they are part of WRCCA which is the counterpart to SORRCA and most of what you see here on the channel. from the sound of it, you just gota take the leap and start building, were in the same boat, best of luck! thanks for watching :D
the sinking feeling when is see trucks get too close to the edge. sketchy af
if you liked that check out this 25foot long 8 foot tall wire bridge 😅 Thank you for watching and happy trucking
Looks like some sick terrain. I don't have much content, but I'm working on it. I also have a crawler fab business. Check me out if you like
You mean content like stock for your business or like are talking about like RUclipsr talk? Lol if you mean RUclips, share a video, Haley and I always like to check out others areas 😄 and crawler fab business? Like welding raw metals to make your own bumpers you sell? That’s awesome! Share a link to a business site, if I can afford it and need it I for sure will get something. If you want me test stuff you can email me but I generally turn down big business because I don’t like corporate sell outs 😅 either way I hope I understood what you meant correctly, I’m just a blue collar worker doing things I love, thanks for watching and happy trucking!
I'm just saying check out my RUclips. It's my truck but with updates from my small fab business. If you look, you'll see.
serious course, great work bro
yeah i cant believe they have comps at this place, i will be going to at least one of them hopefully all 3 this summer, the rigs people have are insane, then you have us in our Scale Trail rigs trying to do big girl things :D always fun, thanks for watching and for being so nice, i know you have plenty of options and you dont have to pay such kind comments, it really helps me to stay creative, thanks from the bottom of my heart. have a great day!
@@JT_JET hey no worries, I'm happy commenting on videos I like. I tried my f1 car on the track first time yesterday, video is up :)
@@TotalScumbagRC dude yeah i was just over there checking it out, that track is soooo dang cool, are you going back on a race day?
@@JT_JET I reckon Ill get a few practice sessions before thinking about joining the race lol, I only done crawling really.
@@TotalScumbagRC oh yeah, no pressure, somtimes seeing things from a new person is the best tho, ive never done it either so not like i can judge, im sure some others feel the same.
