- This video's a story on my journey to Podiatry school
I forgot to mention in the video that although you can major in pretty much anything to get in Podiatry/medical school, I think it is WISER to major in the sciences like BIO, or BIOCHEM, or CHEM if you are 100% sure that the medical path is the route you want to take. Majoring or minoring in anything else is just additional work...
Thanks for sharing ❤
OH MY GOD!! I'm watching your videos at 3 in the morning.
AHHHHH!!!!!!! :D
Really appreciate you making this video. I'm the same way with regards to lecture. How often would you say the class capture is messed up? This is pretty important to me when deciding which schools to apply to because I rely heavily on watching recorded lectures rather than going to lecture.
For every 15 lectures I'd say maybe 2-3 lectures weren't recorded properly. It's tolerable in a way since you're only responsible for what's on the ppt slides. Class capture is good in that "sometimes" they provide extra context so that could make it easier to remember/understand things. Also, the good thing is that the slides are already dense, so all the information you need to know is there.
Oh yeah are you applying this year? =D just curious
Rihua Chen I’ll be applying for 2020 admission. If I would’ve known about podiatry, I wouldn’t have decided to take 2 gap years.
If your science GPA and overall GPA is around a 3.1 and up, and MCAT around 495 your chances of getting accepted+ some scholarship to Temple is high. Consider applying for 2019 admissions! I know someone who applied in May 2018 and and was accepted. The application cycle is still very early!!
I definitely would apply this year but idk if I could get a PS, LORs, and shadowing in before the application cycle ends. I still have to take the mcat in January 2019. I'm just afraid of not putting a quality application together.
Hey Brother, what are your thoughts on the SARP course at Temple? (Summer Academic Reinforcement Program
I'll get back to you on Tuesday after we take our finals. I didn't go through it because I had work haha. I'll ask around and let you know specifically what people did in the program.
I'm back! The people I spoke to had positive feedbacks for the SAR program. It's a 2 week program (10am-3/4pm) that preps you for your first semester classes. SAR program is lead by students who have excelled in the subjects who will provide content, tips, and useful tools that will keep you ahead of the game. So for those who are just getting back to academics this program would be a great decision. Also, if you're new to Philly, this would also be a great time to meet some of your classmates and explore the city together. I think a good 20 students participated in the program from my class. So, I leave the decision to you!
Thanks man I appreciate your help. I do live in Philadelphia and I want to try to work till orientation days lol I want to see if I can get back into study mode on my own, if not I’ll probably sign up for it. Best of luck on ur exams
