Thanks Chris. I have your book and know I have a lot more research to do about the northern Shenandoah valley. I did join a club in southern Virginia ~ in February. Covid put a spike in that, will just need to wait before I can return to those claims and meetings. For now I’m collecting rocks and watching videos and reading about gold, geology and minerals.
Sounds great! Hope you end up with some nice gold.

Thanks for the kind words - Check with Amazon to see the price to you in SW Aust.
Your videos are always filled with tons of great information, Chris... And your book is a great read and I have been a subscriber to ICMJ Magazine for years. It's a great Mag! I am going to be in the Motherlode in mid-September for almost two weeks doing to prospecting with some other Prospecting RUclipsrs... I am sure looking forward to that trip. I have a question on metal detectors though, I am not sure if I have asked you it before or not though hahaha, but I am not sure which detector I should bring, I am leaning more to take my Nox 800, but which one would you use out of either the Nox 800 or the Gold Bug Pro? hahaha, Keep Up The Awesome work my friend.
Take the NOx 800 - lots of trash out there.
@@ChrisRalph Thank you, Chris.
Hey Chris, I really enjoy your videos. I’m a novice at best. I’m in the north bay, California in Sonoma county. Do you ever do guided detector trips? What’s the best way to contact you?
I dont do personal training or guided trips for folks - just the videos and also my book mentioned at the end of the videos. Sorry. I get a huge number of requests every day. I get so many, many requests for personal help, advice, training, review, mineral ID, etc. - I simply cannot get involved with all the requests. I have plenty of my own projects to work on. Best of luck to you in your prospecting efforts.
Bought a gold monster 1000 due to watching your videos on how to use one. Now I'm watching videos on where to use it. Will be ordering your book soon. Does it come in audiobook form, I hate reading.
Sorry, just the old fashioned book. There is no audio.
Chris can you make a video using the GPZ?
I will do that. Give me a few weeks to get it done - I have several in the pipeline and I'm working in them too.
Chris Ralph, Professional Prospector great thanks
Hey Chris. Keep up the good content
Thanks, will do!
Hello great info. Have watched about 7 of you video. I have a question is Puerto Rico a place where gold would be found. I am about to buy some pans and give it try following your great tips. Since it geographically in the Caribbean. thanks again
Much gold has been mined in the past on the Island of Puerto Rico. Use Google and do some research to find out what parts of Puerto Rico have gold. Research because its not found in every stream.
@@ChrisRalph perfect thanks great info
Always great!
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate that!
hey Chris, yeah that was me or thought oh I'll just buy a pan and a metal detector and I'll go out and find not gobs of gold but Bunches of gold some gold maybe. Anyways I really learned a lot from what you just said and, I really feel like going out again. Sample sample sample move move move. Don't stick to one spot too much too long for nothing or very little. Really took a lot from what you said and I really appreciate it.really I just got into it for fun and hey if I found a good-sized nugget all right. But yeah I enjoy learning from you. Thanks Chris 👍
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate that! Hope you find some nice gold.
Plzzz.chriss continue makin this kind of vid...😎
Got another one coming in a month or so. This one was not as successful as I had hoped it would be.
Hi Mr chris .thank you for all your efforts.
Can i asque 2 questions .
What Can be founded / other valables when searching gold ?
About panning in beach gold placer .
What color .formes gold take in contact with salty water .?
Thank you all times
depends on where you are talking about. There are places in Africa where diamonds are found with gold - some places there is platinum, but most places gold is the main thing. For beach prospecting look at the Washington Beach mining channel on RUclips.
@@ChrisRalph Chris,.. you forgot to tell him Gold is unaffected by salt water.
@@oddball8758 thank you.
Great vidioees.
Thanks.
Good videos.
Good ideas
I'd like to hear your opinion on gold placement in rivers based on satellite images of them.
Works in a few places but normally you can't see enough in the images to be sure without a boots on the ground inspection.
lol true for 8 and a half years i just used a pan and my fry daddy basket for a classifier and a shovel, i just bought a sluice to use at home to run my material now
Hope you find some nice gold.
Chris, went to Amazon to order your book, but it was unavailable! Hope you get more printed soon!
The book is at the printer and on their schedule, but the distributor still has a few and should be sending some to Amazon soon.
Hi my friend how to learn this skill without money because I am disable left hand and I don't have mo ey but I would like to learn this skill thank you?
I am not sure....
I have lived in Utah for 42 years and have been looking for gold since I could use a shovel and never found anything you could pick up with tweezers any advice for me??
There is some bigger gold in Utah, but not much. Utah produced some nice hard rock gold but was not a rich placer state compared to the other western states around it. Buy a copy of Alan Chenworth's book - A Guide to gold panning in Utah - he has loads of information in there.
@@ChrisRalph thanks alot I will
I was wondering about geology for finding deep gold. Meters or hundreds of feet under the ground. What hints or Clue's to look for for that. Is there any equipment for deep ground gold or possible gold? Specifically places that have not been discovered or mined before.
Google geophysical exploration. The problem is that this is not something that the individual prospector could afford.
@@ChrisRalph okay geophysical exploration. Great start. Clear answer. Assuming money was not a problem on the methods used electromagnetic, magnetic, electric, gravimetric, seismic. Specifically hunting rare earth deposits not gas and not oil. Lol like gold, silver, or gem's or something similar. Using methods above what signatures should I be interested in. Like how you talk about ignoring the metal detector loud BEEEEEP's and listen for faint soft sounds that are repeatable. Like this but using the geophysical exploration methods and or that equipment equivalent. Thank you for straight simple answers your videos are pretty cool.
@@ChrisRalph so Should I look for hot springs near volcanoes? That should be good prospecting potential right? Then use geophysical exploration methods to see if anything interesting pop's up. If you agree what tell tell signs or signatures would be indicative of mineral deposits of various kinds?
Specific types of deposits respond to specific types of geophysical testing. Use Google and you will find there is plenty of information if you are willing to read and research. Normally active hot springs will have a potential for deposits down deep, but while the springs are active, often too hot to get in there.
I just started prospecting I not having much luck but I don't plan on getting up I live in Wyoming just wondering if you have ever try here
No, I've never tried Wyoming. The state has gold, but less than most other western states.
I believe there more here then what people think it's just hard to find it just going to take me more work to find it would you like to come out and try
Maybe you could make good show out it
Got a lot on my plate right here.
That looks like a high Sierra placer deposit? La Porte area?
Not going to say where but in the Sierra.
Chris Ralph, Professional Prospector notellum creek !!!!
$1,953.70 going to use my gold monster tomorrow on a claim in holcomb valley hike and shoot another video talk to you soon boss
Go and find some nice gold!
Chris Ralph, Professional Prospector was raining. lightening. kind of scary. messed up the video. oh well. next time.
hike back 3 miles where most don't go cause they're out of shape
Best of luck in your trek.
How's much money is to find gold
Depends on what equipment you purchase.
Have you ever considered teaching hands on out in the field?
I appreciate your request, but I get many, many requests for personal help, training and assistance every day from all over the world. I have a lot on my plate and I just cannot help beyond my book and the videos themselves.
Every time I have set out to pan, I have came home with shiny gold
That's great!
help to find tresure hunting in india
good luck to you.
Hi am live in jamaica i would love to look for gold here you can halp me
Do research on Google.
Can gold look flat on rocks?
Too vague to answer.... What do you mean?
@@ChrisRalph The rocks have flat pieces of what looks like gold or pyrite. Some are cubed shaped which looks like pyrite but some look flat. Is that also pyrite? Im looking through a magnifying glass to see this.
Typo in the intro chris hot instead of how..
Hmmmm...... OK.
Move more dirt find more gold
Sometimes, but sometimes if you move only a little but its the right stuff you can do better than moving a lot of low grade.
