Sorry, but I need to add one thing: GPT-4.01 in projects is NOT available for Plus subscriptions. That said, I recently canceled my Claude subscription in favor of ChatGPT because I found I used it more overall. Now, I primarily use ChatGPT, free local LMs, and Notebook LM.
Just a note: On the ChatGPT projects, currently you'll lose access to the advanced models as options from the drop-down, if you do something in the project that isn't supported by the base chat model. So, you can't use o1 and custom instructions together, nor o1 and file uploads.
How are Projects different to Custom GPT's? They seem to be the same. Or is it that any chats within the Project are referenced in any new chats within the same Project? However has this been confirmed because when I used Claude Projects, it said it could not see other chats.
The main problem I found when using Claude projects for content creation is that you get rate limited so quickly that it become unusable for anything but small tasks. Having to wait 4 plus hours to use sonnet 3.5 is a deal breaker. No such problems with ChatGPT projects
They basically toke custom GPTs, Folders, and combined them together, which is honestly a pretty good feature, definitely one of my favorites alongside the canvas improvements Useful for integration and when you don't want to make custom GPTs for everything When o1 is supported, and context limit increases, it would be huge
Which one would you recommend for an author who wants to expand cooperation and even relieance on Chat GPT or Claude to help with my next novel writing project.
If you want to heavily rely on the writing output then I would prefer Claude for the style, if you want to use it a co-thinker the improved tooling of Chatgpt will serve you well.
Thanks, I LOVE projects. If for no other reason than to keep my chats organized, and often times that's all it is. But I do tend to use them a lot when working on something like creating a new book. Memory is the bane of my existence, it ends up confusing different books and referencing things that the current book shouldn't know about. But with projects, I can get the benefits of memory, without the associated problems.

In my last two weeks experience, using Chatgpt, Claude and Gemini AI 1206, for coding around 32 google sheets files with app scritps, the clear winner was Gemini 1206, by far. Before that, was always Sonnet 3.5. I use all in free versions

@@Nubis-qh2bp OK there would be on might be cases where gemini might win and maybe that's one of your use cases. But overall, in general or on average, a non-reasoning model is not beating the best reasoning model. We are simply not there yet. There is the AIDER benchmark for example where O1 is miles ahead in being able to do code completions correctly.

Used to exclusively use ChatGPT, however OpenAI has proved to be a company that doesn't care about morals, ethics, and safety. Most of the people who did care about such things at OpenAI are long gone, which speaks volumes. I don't trust that company or their models one bit. In short, if you care even slightly about supporting AI in a way that's positive and not crooked, Claude is the clear winner.
Don't boss/order people around, especially those providing you with free content that benefits you and whom you do nothing to benefit in return, especially when his volume level is a fine and it is in fact you who is hard of hearing as the root-cause of the problem... THANKS.

FYI - Projects are not yet available on the Mac Desktop app - you need to use the browser interface to get access on a Mac

Searching the web for answers but Crud doesn’t even refer to past chats within the project to avoid repeating errors. So frustrating.
