  • When Christian Villalobos was a young boy, his father received a heart transplant at Loyola Medicine. 20 years later, when he experienced irregular heartbeats while exercising, Christian immediately turned to Loyola. The Loyola cardiology team implanted a left ventricular assist device (LVAD) that kept his heart pumping for years until it was necessary to perform a transplant. Thanks to cardiovascular surgeon Edwin McGee Jr., MD, (www.loyolamedicine.org/provid..., Christian has a new heart and is committed to taking good care of the gift he received from a generous donor. I've known Christian since I was 6 years old. No one deserved it more than him especially after losing his brother. God Bless the Loyola team and the Villalobos family.
