Underground Inside Britannia Mine, Copper & Gold Lode Ore Near Vancouver B.C

We ride the mining railway into the Britannia Copper Mine. Located near Vancouver next to Squamish BC the mine was one of the bigger ones in the British empire. They mined copper, gold silver, lead, and zinc over the time of the mines operation.
Inside the mine, we look at different types of technology used throughout the history of the mine. From hand drills and candles to electric light and mucking machines, we can see the evolution of technology.
There are many other facilities located at the mine that are used for processing and maintenance. The machine, pipe & welding shops, engineering, and chemical buildings are all a part of the operation of the mine. The mining museum is a great way to spend a rainy day like we did!
