I'll be starting my 46th bowling season next month and recognized Marion Ladewig right off from an article "Bowling" magazine did on champion bowlers of the past. One of the pictures was of Ladewig releasing the ball, with a caption describing her form and accuracy during the years she reigned supreme.
The panel had a very good night. Polly tried to take over the show again. Kitty is always having a good time because you can always hear her laughing in the backround. Thanks for the video.
my grandmother Vicky Murphy was a contestant on this episode.
It took about a decade to find a copy of this show. My Grandmother was "Number 1" at 17:44, impersonating Marion Ladewig. Such a treasure to see her beautiful face and hear her voice. Thank you for posting this!!

Did anyone else catch the fact that Ralph Bellamy claimed to have bowled a 300 before ? That's pretty impressive & interesting.
Yes, and I wonder if it's true. If so, and I can't imagine any reason he would lie about it, it is indeed impressive.
Marion Ladawig was from Grand Rapids Mi, and she co-hosted WOOD TV's Sunday Bowling program from the 60's-early 80's.
Game 1 was fascinating. All the talk about Donald Maclean, Guy Burgess, lord Beaverbrook and the suspected serial killer John Bodkin Adams. (Maclean and Adams both died in 1983!)
There was an interpreter for actress Anna Magnani in her 1953 episode of "What's My Line?". (Another one of Gary's channels).
***** And another interpreter for a man from Japan, if I remember right.
Game 2 was fun. Very well done segment. Three men speak Italian, but only one of them doesn't speak English.
***** Game two was silly. You can't get a sense if someone is lying if they're using an interpreter. It was time consuming as well. Very dumb segment for this type of game show.
News-to-me department, at about 12:35: Galliano was something new in 1957.
Being an Italian, Game 2 just killed me. I'm actually writing from heaven, it's nice up there 😊

Great Game 3 for the panel.
First contestants, never thought it was no.1, he got the answer to Scotland yard wrong, it was called that because in the 17/1800's it was a coaching yard for coaches that travelled from London to Scotland. Either lying or did not know the answer.
@oldfart4751 I'm not sure where you picked up the coach station story but many sources point out that Scottish delegations (before the union) would stay in buildings around what would become Great Scotland Yard.
The original police headquarters was sited next to the yard and the name became linked to the police over time. The headquarters has moved a few times over the years but always takes the name "New Scotland Yard."

Bud misidentified crime editor Percy Hoskins as John Hoskins at 2:31 in Game 1. Maybe he was thinking of John Hopkins University.
If you bowl six strikes in a row your score will be 120 in the fourth frame.
That's how I interpreted the question, also, going from the first frame.
Your score would be 140 in the fifth frame, waiting for the bonus ball from the 7th frame to be applied to the fifth frame. Therefore, an exact answer cannot be given, but a correct response would be 140+ in the fifth. If a combination of two gutter balls, lobs, or foot fouls occurred in the seventh frame, then the score through six frames would be 150 and still 150 in the seventh frame. Polly certainly opened up a can of worms.

The people in England probably seemed so proper and refined that is was doubly shocking to find that one or two of them were hacking others to death...! Whereas the US with its cowboys and gangsters was more used to killing and crime.
