  • Classic Game Room reviews ALIEN TRILOGY for Playstation PS1 from Acclaim and Fox Interactive Studios, a first person shooter featuring Aliens from the Alien movies and firepower like the pulse rifle and flamethrower! While not the exact storyline from the original 3 Alien movies, Alien Trilogy borrows characters and elements as you battle your way through aliens, face huggers and infected humans through levels inspired by the 1979 Alien, 1986's Aliens and that other one.... Alien 3. (Hooray, no Alien Regurgitation or whatever it was...) Play as Ripley and waste suckas with the Pulse Rifle and other weapons in Alien Trilogy for PS1. This CGR review of Alien Trilogy has gameplay from Alien Trilogy on Playstation. Alien Trilogy is also available for Sega Saturn and PC.

Old FPS games like this and system shock 2 had such a scary, lonely, hopeless feeling to them which completely immersed you in it. Games don't do that anymore.

    Great game.
I'm happy that I have this game. It's fun. Challenging, but still fun.
I also like how they made this movie licence game. Easy to play, full of action.
This is the way you should do movie licence game.

John Gooch Yes, because the hold my hand, pay to win is so much better. Plus, I love buying games half finished, boy I wish they could find a way to milk me to death with DLC on my Retro Gaming (maybe they could take away some of my features and force me to pay for them). Oh, how I love endless tutorials on common functions and features on every game because today's gamer needs a participation trophy or achievement just for learning to play the game that plays the same as the last game; It's okay though as long as it has some stupid tacked on me too multi-player mode where I can shoot my friends (who needs any actual real story driven content). Don't forget to kill every brick and mortar store while you're at it, I mean why for the love of God would we want to actually own our games? No, it's cool those game companies actually care for us and would never high jack our hobby for more money once we relinquish all of our rights to said games. Yes, yes it's so much better today, us older gamers never had it sooo good.

This is an awesome game. Liked it as a kid, and still like it today. The story may be bullocks, but the atmosphere of this game is intense. Weak weapons, the threat of low ammo, and the fear of the Aliens, amazing.
_Works with ePSXe (PS1 Emulator) and DosBox on modern Systems._
Alien Trilogy, literally $hits all over Aliens - Colonial Disaster!

This brings back memories.. My favourite part was when a part of a level was bathed in red light (similar to the scene in Aliens where they cut the power), and aliens were smashing through glass, or I was shooting through glass(?) and all hell was breaking loose. If I remember rightly, you use the shoulder buttons to look up and down too, which was unique to me at the time, being only used to Doom and Doom 2..

Such a great game, I was so proud of myself when I beat this - it took me about probably 15 hours to beat (I think), and that was on easy difficulty heck that gives the game a lot of replay value and that's good because it's super enjoyable and downright crushing compared to the modern standards on FPS.

'Alien Trilogy' was one of two reasons why I purchased a Sony PlayStation in July of 1996. The first was Capcom's 'Street Fighter Alpha' ('though I HATED that THAT game had long load times between matches!). With 'Alien Trilogy' - I was a great sucker for FMV intros, and it just had the coolest one...'still holding up just fine now, in my opinion.
It was the first ever first-person-shooter I'd ever bought for any console/computer in the home - the second being the PS version of 'DOOM' ;-)

I' ve played this game in actual 3D years ago with the Virtual i/o glasses for the Playstation. One of the best FPS experiences! The headphones on the glasses were great too. Hearing the aliens creeping all around you, along with the total isolation from the outside environment because of the glasses make for a very scary game!

This was the first game I ever bought for PS1. I wish I would have kept it. Best Alien game I've ever played. The game was challenging and quite scary for it's time. Looking forward to getting Aliens Colonial Marines on Feb 12th, hope it's just as good as this classic. Aliens vs. Predator (360) was such a let down I almost used it as a frisbee lol. Watching this video makes me want to play this game so bad! Great review

If you're asking if the levels are foundational copies of each other, the answer is no.
However, since the engines and architecture are the same, the variation between the layouts is going to be quite similar, with the textures being the most notable difference.
While I doubt the layouts are duplicates of each other, the only way to tell is to chart them and compare the layouts manually.
With that said, I've owned both games and they play extremely similarly to each other.

The game was ridiculously hard or at least when I played it on medium difficulty. It was really fun cos it was challenging and everything was perfect. Just that the ammo was really scarce. I actually mastered strafing so health wasn't the problem but it was the ammo. I was forced to replay the game to remember where the ammo were. I didn't need to remember the aliens because I mastered sprinting backwards and strafing. Eventually the game just got so frustrating because it took forever to finish it.

Ah, 'Pink Boots' (not the entire code, sorry, don't remember the rest) made this The Game that hooked me on the PS One. A further note, this was the first game that introduced me to FPS motion sickness. Yep, in the midst of a full game marathon I hit a level that I did over again, and again, and again, and... trying to get 100% completion and... I puked. That aside, I don't think I've encountered many games in the intervening years that I have flat out enjoyed as much as this one. Hurling aside.

@ShamefulZues995 Right buddy! Firstly you can hack your PSP to run cracked games and can run Alien on your PSP. Secondly it plays on the PS3. Thirdly you can run an emulator on your PC to play PS1 games. You can even use your old disc to play the game with as well! You can also use a PS3 Controller to play on the PC. By searching for the drivers in google you can use those. There are so many ways to play it you don't need to buy another ps1/2 PM any questions

Kind of like playing GTA purely to run people over and blow up cars...

To this day, i cannot complete the game without cheatcodes, she can... she freakin' breezes through it... except for that one mission which is basically a giant maze, she tends to get lost a lot in that one... seriously, last time it took her 4 hours to beat that level, because she couldn't find the end.

I have to say this is my favourite game of all time. Most people would say why? It's a old game with poor graphics. When it came out the graphics were very good. The game does a good job of creating atmosphere which really puts you edge. You would think a point and shoot game wouldnt do this but as you will notice the game is really dark and the music just adds to the fun. I shouldn't say this but I really wished they make a modern version of the same game.
