    Great video, very informative - thanks! Our daughter is almost 3 and has had RSV 2 times before. Both times she got very sick and ended up with respiratory distress. We’re hoping that this time around her airways has matured. As per the paediatrics last time we were admitted, we have started her on flixotide and ventolin, hoping this will also alleviate what’s to come. We’re only day 2, so are praying that it’s more manageable this time around!

      I am starting to do better now. Way better. I started vitamin D 5k IU and I am feeling the best I probably can feel for the first time in a year. I was able to start a mini exercise regimen and my husband came down with influenza type B a few weeks ago and I did not end up with it somehow. I am very excited but also trying to play it cool because I have been in bad positions before with viruses. Keeping my fingers crossed for a safe winter ahead. Thank you for asking.This was the second time in my life of ever having RSV. I recovered at home but had a lot of clinic and hospital visits in between and tons of bed rest and self pacing. It was the most depressing 8 months of my life. I thank god every day that I wake up now.

    This may seem dumb but if you do have to take your child to the ER- do you go to a regular/closest ER or would you go to the childrens hospital? I live in Austin so ours would be Dell Childrens but there are ERs closer to our home…

    • @gauravpatel3473
      @gauravpatel3473 2 года назад +7

      As an adult ER doctor in a non children’s hospital I can say that for most routine issues..going to a regular ER is completely fine…we have all been trained to manage pediatric emergencies and we typically are comfortable managing RSV and bronchiolitis…that being said if your child requires a more in depth evaluation based off our exam, we may need to transfer to a children’s hospital that is better equipped to manage more complicated patients…when in doubt it is always prudent to go to your nearest ER to avoid any delays in care.

    • @pedsdoctalktv9960
      @pedsdoctalktv9960  2 года назад +4

      I agree with hubs that closest ER in a true emergency is best (difficulty breathing for example that is severe). If it's more of using the ER as an urgent care type need since office is closed, you can go to children's hospital.
