The news of a celebrity suicide is always shocking & brings mental health to the forefront of discussion. More than a few of us wonder how someone who seemingly "has it all" can reach such a low point where they decide to end their own life. It's a sad reminder that shows how little we know about mental health issues & the prevalence it has within society.
Josh Macin (The Detox Dudes), our guest this week, was at the top of his world: He was a recently minted Brazilian Ji Jitsu world champion and had a stable sales career with a healthy family life. He was, on the surface, completely healthy. Over a two week period, he mentally broke down and began to lose his sanity: Depression ensued, panic attacks became a regular occurrence, & suicidal thoughts were not uncommon. When his doctors and traditional pharmaceuticals couldn’t help him, Josh went on a three- year journey to figure out what he could do to cure himself and essentially save his own life.
    In this discussion, you'll discover:
    - Behind Josh's Ji-Jitsu sporting career: How he approached fights, using marijuana to improve performance, & more
    - Josh's story for survival: How his mental health issues manifested, the various interventions he experimented with (fasting, nutrition, psychedelics, etc), & what ultimately solved his issues and saved his life
    - Behind ayahuasca ceremonies: The traditions, experience of the plant, and what it's like to go through the process of becoming a shaman
    - Do most of us have parasites?
You can check out Josh, his story, and what he's up to now here: thedetoxdudes....

I was most surprised not by Josh's insane story but that the interviewer thought that typical Western medical doctors would check you for heavy metals. They definitely do not screen for that! They don't screen for anything beyond the typical CBC, CMP, TSH, lipids, vit d, maybe b12 if you're lucky. And even those tests are bad. They dismiss any slightly off values in ranges that are already very broad. They don't care about parasites or adrenal function or hormone balance unless you aggressively pursue these things with specialists. But the GP isn't going to refer you to a specialist 99.9% of the time. They'd be unlikely to screen for metals even if you worked in a toxic industry. If you go into your MD with more than a few symptoms in different parts of the body and you admit SOME of these symptoms are mental they automatically think you are psychosomatic and write you a prescription for antidepressants, and tell you to get a psychiatrist. End of story. Western medicine has no place for holistic care, no place for root causes. Your best hope for conventional validation is diagnosis with an autoimmune disease. Think for a minute about why a Western doctor could not take heavy metal poisoning seriously---because they put the metals into you in the form of immunizations and dentistry. It would be an indictment of themselves.

Totally not impressed with the interviewer. He didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. He didn’t do his due diligence to research Josh before hand and truly go into his protocol. Yet he continue to interject his own thoughts of western doctors, and his own theories, which just basically couldn’t even comment on because it seems so far fetched, and so far away from what Josh does ,
which was totally not the point, not impressed at all …Bad not skilled interviewer

I think that when his first depression/schizofrenia started he was experiencing a spiritual awakening. Im not sayin mental illnesses shouldnt be taken seriously but im sure thats what it was for him. Some cultures say that our soul made a contract about when we will have this awakening, be it in this life or another. And when it happens, you cant control it. I had a breakdown which was a spiritual awakening with depression anxiety and sort of a depersonalization like questioning all day who am i, who really am i, at my core? Before society has programmed me to be who i am, who am I??? Like do i even like my clothes, my furniture, etc. I wanted to change everything about my house, wardrobe, everything. I was questioning everything around me, i quit my job and just went through with it. It was the hardest part of my life, mentally and emotionally. It was triggered by a chronic illness (which ive healed altho doctors said there s no cure) but it spiraled down into this awakening. Ive changed so much in a year and i still want to grow a lot but im in no hurry.
Josh s story is shocking and im so glad he didnt give up.
P.S. SSRIs made me feel like shit.

@@hosniaqazi5831 it s hard to tell more than ive said, esp on YT, makes me uncomfortable 😂 ure basically probably questioning everything around you, yourself, your choices, trying to leave the matrix, asking who you are and why are you here. I cant tell you that because we all have a different mission and own lessons to learn. What i do think is that we have the same purpose - remember who we were before we came here (pure love, we werent rasist or sexists or hateful or anything like that), before society labeled us and taught us fear and guilt and shame and resenment. We came here, i believe, to learn to love and be loved and make the best out of life. But, each person has a different mission.

This interviewer is so stuck on facts 😂 personal experience is the true teacher, and he should have focused on pulling more out of Josh about his incredible healing journey and the specific protocols that changed his health rather than making his points about how important science is. Overall a good interview but I wish it had been more focused on Josh’s experiences rather than the interviewer trying to add his 2 cents, especially when it came to the actual healing protocols and supplements that lead to Josh’s healing

@Phoenix 333 You know, you bring up some good points and I can really see that. I've always felt most connected when prolonged fasting with distilled or spring water. Giving up carbs also helps me personally get more in touch with my inner self / world / god / etc.
And I do think you are right about meat taking a ridiculous amount of energy to digest. Blending nuts and other things is way easier on the digestive system.
But I also think juicing is notoriously hard on the pancreas and the Steve Jobs incident was not a coincidence.
Thank you for sharing your insights.

    • @bluegiant13
      @bluegiant13 4 года назад +1

@Phoenix 333 I don't see any logical relation to everything you said about meat. Humans are herbivores, they can eat meat and vegetables they have been doing so for thousands of years. There are plenty of people that have become ill by trying to be vegan, there is evidence for that. Plants also have nervous systems, so violence is also involved into that. Really dumb stuff
