Bowmasters and burning inquiry is the high I needed today.
Saw the deck in the 5-0 league, immediately ordered the few missing cards for the deck and can't wait to try it out. Super happy to have found your channel and gameplay for it

Great videos, marathoned a bunch today 🫡 Toward the end you say about replacing the Rootwallas, any idea what with?
@@paulywaulywaulyI also saw this video and immediately spent a smooth hundred on singles and I'm thinking Squee, Goblin Nabob might be the best replacement. It pays for half of the phoenix evidence and lets the deck get a little card advantage with the discard spells

Not playing damping sphere on turn 2 is gutsy
Add 4 troll of kazadul. Easy to pitch to the bird without nuking your yard. Enables hollow one. Great late late game with birb hasting it

hollow one has been my pet deck since the days of faithless looting, so sick!!
It looks like the most recent development in this deck is cutting out one land for a second ox, and swapping out the rootwalla's for nethergoyf
Blazing Rootwalla is only really good for getting Vengevine back. Other cards for consideration could be Necrogoyf, Bloodghast, or maybe Seasoned Pyromancer. Ox is definitely a strong card to add and additional extra MV helps with Phoenix. Awesome showing! Glad to see Hollow Boi taking some W's for sure.
the rootwalla was essential in the vengevine builds but i dont think it's essential here. sweet video. sweet deck.
Thinking of replacing it with another card. Maybe tinybones or ragavan.

Insolent Neonate is the card I will be swapping out for Basilisk, two reasons for this. Neonate provides a second instance of discard in a turn to trigger Inti a second time helping churn through the library looking for more Hollow One. Secondly double casting a creature is really why Basilisk was good, as a Vengevine trigger. And were not playing Vine anymore. Other card I am interested in is Nethergoyf for a recuring threat, but playing 2 Tarfire is unappealing. Either way great showcase. I am playing modern again because of this.

Man, this deck looks like straight fire. I wish I didn't have to buy 4 Bowmasters to play it. I might try to through together a jankier version with Vengevines since I have them from an old hollow vine shell I played as my first modern deck.
Saw this 5-0 in the league lists seemed awesome and instantly built it in person
I played a slightly modified version of the list at my FNM last night, which went 3-0, 7-1. I have played a lot of hollow one and what you said about rootwalla resonated with my old hollow one playing so I put ragavan in that slot. Then I also swaped one goblin lore for a second Ox of Agonas. The deck rocked the detective's phoenix is just nuts flying and haste for one mana is great. Having played it i am tempted to try and fit a Kroxas somewhere in the 60 since arena of glory and the escape titans is nuts. Also one final change I switched the spymasters vault for a basic swamp since you didn't have one and you did have blood moons in the side.
That one of Ox was sooo good against your jund opponent! Really cool deck

Hollow one is my favorite deck of all time. It’s very good to see it working.
While I do believe that the hollow one deck with faithless looting (which was my first modern deck ever) was probably stronger, this list made me instantly bring out my old hollow one deck and get a playset detectives phoenix :D
Demonic embrace, and draconic destiny, with detective's Phoenix.
That was impressive running for the deck, also great piloting.

Yes can cut rootwallas, they’re better for vengevine lists.
I also thought “several cards better than abrade” when I saw your board at the beginning especially if you’re already on bolt main.

I would like you to play this deck again for sure but... what about removing two lands and adding in MDFC example/ Sundering Erruption. If you cast it GREAT, opponent can't block... if you discard it GREAT, easier to cast Pheonix.

They just be putting Reach on everything
Splashing blue for Psychic Frog and Cephallid Colliseum could be nice here. Frog turns any useless hand into gas, and with Burning Inquiry and Goblin Lore you get useless hands pretty often.
I'm also not sure Inti is very playable in post-MH3 Modern... it performed pretty nicely in the video, but you didn't run into a lot of Boros/Mardu Energy decks which deal VERY easily with X/1's like Inti. Perhaps try a few more leagues with the current build and see if it holds up? If not, Frog could take Inti's slots as a 2-drop and the Rootwallas could be replaced with more cheap interaction / card selection.
I’ve been a hollow one enthusiast for like 4-5 years now, and last weekend my buddy and I just put together a grixis hollow one list that is basically the list we just saw, with frog and coliseum. Seems pretty solid doing some minor play testing. I’ll be running it this Friday at my local FNM. Wish me luck!!
I’m case your curious, the cuts I made, are going down to 3 goblin lore, and cutting the oxes, play 2 watery grave, and 1 steam vents, and trimmed a few lands for the coliseums.
I’m glad to see someone else with a similar idea, I was quite excited when I was working on it, since I’ve been playing various hollow one lists to fulfill my need to play a pet deck of mine.
My previous list was a hollow one combo deck with underworld breach, orcish bowmaster, burning inquiry, and infernal plunge. Which was really fun to play, since it’s basically the original hollow one list, with access to a turn 3 combo kill with breach, burning inquiry and orcish bowmaster.

Deck feels land heavy. Lotta times where you were stuck with two or three lands in hand and very little to do with them. I'd definitely be running more oxen, maybe a full playset, feels so good to cast off the arena of glory.

I had to watch this video at 0.5 speed, cuz you are going WAY too fast to even try to make sense of what's happening. Slow down a bit friend. Otherwise a decent video.
While you seem to have a nice format for the videos, and good editing, will say you are definitely not "new player" friendly. You speak so fast and given the lack of explanation to most cards I watched first game match 1 and just cannot keep up.
