- This is an old Native American Cemetery located in Clinton, Oklahoma. It was severely overgrown and it was very hard to notice from the nearby highway. Inside it you will find some amazing Native American names. Very fascinating to walk thru and take a look around.

Thank you for watching and I appreciate the super thanks as well Lkydog8165!
IM NATIVE AMERICAN... NOT FROM THAT AREA.
I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU
It was my pleasure to be able to do this for them Thank you for watching and commenting.
What a wonderful thing you done, I'm a Cherokee and I appreciate what you've done, thank you.
Thank you, I just wanted to do a little something for those that are interred there.
Yes absolutely. I'm Cherokee chocktau and creek.
An awesome gesture to the memories of the departed.
+Grave Explorations I wanted to make a little difference. I spent a little more time than I thought I would but it was well worth it.
Grave Explorations I,think I’m subscribed to your channel
thumbs up for doing a good job of mowing that overgrown forgotten cemetery
Thank you Rachel.
Very kind of you. It must have been exhausting.
im native american,,the creator will reward you for the trail of life you have taken.
+James Zeller Thank you, I'm happy I could do it.
I havent seen such nice and caring pple like you. What a blessed soul you have. The good creator is going to reward your deeds abundantly. Keep showing the love,it will come back to you. Those souls must be gratefull. Stay blessed my dear
Thank you Jules. I felt like these people deserved more and I felt a little bad that i had not noticed them before.
@@RhettyforHistory You are such a blessing, u made my heart melt and cry at the same time, we r so divided we forget to see the good in oneanother. Made me believe that the world still has good pple
I do believe that there are good people out there. I've gotten other people involved on cemetery projects so I know there are more than what most thing. I'm just hoping to inspire others to do something even if it's just straightening flowers.
In case none of the family contacts you, thank you for cleaning up the old cemetery. I hate to see neglected cemeteries.
I have spoken to a couple that could be related just based on the name Old Crow. They have thanks me but thank you for thanking me as well. I'm hoping to get the Cheyenne tribe involved in some maintenance in the cemetery even if it's a couple times a year. Clearly better than what it's been getting. It's sad to see cemeteries like that.
Me too
Hopes they Do get out there an take care of it . it mit have been forgotten by the tribe
It was never owned by them it was an individual's property. Old Crow. And he, and some of the others happen to be a member of the nation.
@@RhettyforHistory thanks for the inf0
What a nice person you are! I am Native American and thank you. God blesses your sweet heart.
Thank you for the kind words. I just wanted to do something for them as I believe everyone deserves to be remembered.
John 14:2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
You are my hero!! There are takers in this world and there are givers...you my friend are a giver and I love what you did for the old cemetery. Smiling and waving from Michigan
+Grumpy Granny Thank you Granny for sharing that scripture for others to understand the reference.! I figured that was probably what they meant but it was a misprint and they put may. It through me off a little. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for doing this. The creator will bless you for caring for his People.
Thank you! I figured it was the right thing to do.
That was a really nice thing for you to do!! And a good example for your kids and hopefully you'll inspire other viewers to do the same thing with overgrown cemeteries near them. Maybe the local historical society will see this and start keeping it up. Keep up the good deeds. It's so rare and really inspiring!
I've been trying to get a the Cheyenne tribe involved in the upkeep as well as possible information but it's been a little more difficult than I thought it would be.
RhettyforFun
It must be so frustrating ... If these are Cheyenne graves then why are their people not interested in organising the upkeep of the cemetery? Would you mind keeping us updated on how you go with that? Thank you, and good luck : )
I think the main problem with this one is this was a private cemetery and not a tribal cemetery. John was a member of the tribe but this cemetery is a ways off from where the tribal lands are. I hope they will maintain it even if it's only a couple times a year. The distance is the key issue though and I also think they may not have known about it. Hopefully with a little awareness they or some other group may take notice and do something.
@@RhettyforHistory
Thanks so much for your kind replies! You must spend a lot of time replying to every comment, but you should know how very appreciated it is!
I'm certain that awareness is the key to this particular problem, so I wish you well with that that endeavor. But regardless of who ends up taking responsibility for this quaint cemetery, what's obviously necessary for future maintenance is access to some heavy duty machinery .. like a ride-on lawnmower, for starters. Perhaps the local government's department would allow you or whoever is willing to take over the responsibility for the care of the cemetery to use the equipment owned by them? It's just a thought. Otherwise maybe the local store that sells that kind of equipment would consider lending the equipment, or even doing the work in return for free advertising at the site. Some highway signage to attract visitors to the cemetery and a locked coin-donation box to help with costs?? Just ideas, but I hope you'll keep us all posted on news as it comes to hand? Thank you, and good luck with it : )
They are all great ideas. Regardless of whether or not big equipment is being used it's definitely going to take someone stepping up to do it. I'm too far away to do it on a regular basis though. In a way it's sort of outside the city that it's near. I'm hoping I can get the tribe interested in it. I know they're a ways off too but they're a heck of a lot closer than I am. This is sort of am issue with small private pioneer cemeteries. I run into quite a few of them. But larger equipment would definitely help once someone figures out where graves and funeral home markers are so that they don't do more damage. Thanks again for commenting and watching.
Sad the cemetery isn't maintained. Volunteers should come mow grass down. Great find.
Huge respect
So glad you did that
Be nice if local tribe might help assist in ongoing maintenance of the property going forward
I'm working on getting the tribe involved. It's little ways outside of where the tribe is though.
A lot of work for one guy, but you still stayed and worked on it . God bless you
It was a lot of work. More than I expected it to be. But despite the troubles it felt good to get what I did done.
You are such a good person for doing that god bless you love old cemeteries like i do
more. Think there is a lot of history in cemeteries and many of them have stories just waiting to be told. Thanks for watching and commenting.
You are a good person. Your gesture of respect reminds me of the civil war nurses who cared for both Union and Confederate soldiers, not knowing them yet knowing that they are loved by somebody. That is so strange about the equipment. Maybe this is why the graveyard is overgrown. Thanks for your thoughtful exploration
Thanks for watching and commenting. The act that those nurses had shown during the Civil War is way above this. It's amazing to hear and still see what nurses have accomplished. They're amazing people!
RhettyforFun my mom is a retired RN. She trained for nursing just after WW2. Special people. Compassionate and tough
You take care 😃
Yes they are. My grandmother was a nurse in the Army during WW2.
What a beautiful and selfless and inspirational act. It was a very big task on a hot day and you did it anyway. Someone raised you right. Thank you.
I felt it's the least I could do. I did not work on it physically the last year but I am still working on it trying to get it some long term care. I feel they should be remembered. Thank you for watching.
Lot of respect. Hopefully the city will see this and keep it up. Its a beautiful cemetery of our native Americans.
I'm currently trying to get the Cheyenne tribe to help maintain it since the names are Cheyenne. They do an excellent job taking car of their cemeteries. The obstacles for it is that it's on private land. I believe the owners have just passed. The cemetery is outside of the tribal lands and outside of the city. The cities, towns, counties and state of Oklahoma just doesn't have funds for things such as these.
@@RhettyforHistory Hope it works out.
Thanks, me too.

You're a good and kindhearted person also, Old Woman Walks Far. Thank you. I know that you don't do it for rewards, but I hope that many come your way.
Khi Yester A’ho Khi And I hope your good deed helps out too, Many blessings.
Thank you Grandmother❤
Thank you for showing some empathy and respected for these folks. Very sweet...
I happy that I could make it happen. Thank for commenting and for watching.
Thank this man to try to help on his own. This is a lovely cemetery. Great names, interesting, American Indian names long long ago.
I did what I could to try and improve it. Definitely some interesting history in there.
Didn't read any of the messages already posted. I know this was probably said but, I need to say it. This video has made me proud to be a human being. I am Canadian and we do by nature nice things for people but, I can honestly say, doubt anyone here would have went to this extent to make grave site the way it should have been all along. We would do it in a group, I know I would have. This is an accomplishment to be proud and to do it just to be respectful to John Crow Cemetary. I know you didn't do it to have accolades etc. The amount you cleared by yourself is astonishing. I am starting my own podcast (besides my Internet Radio Show) and have subject now for the first episode. Thank you on behalf of cemetary!
I do like to try and motivate others to take care of cemeteries that are near them. There have been times when I'm able to get large groups at it and then other times where there are just a few. But there are also times where I find little ones that are far from anyone I know that may want to help and that's how this one was. I'm always hoping to inspire others to make a difference in a local cemetery even if it's only straightening one set of flowers. Every little bit makes a difference. I enjoy the history that's in cemeteries and I think they should be respected whenever possible.
I will say this about Canada. I love it there. In America people always talk about how friendly people are in the South and they are but people everywhere I've been in Canada always seem super nice and trusting of others. Even when I've been in a big city like Toronto.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Good luck on your podcast and show!!

You have a very kind soul. Thank you for your effort. Maybe others will also volunteer and help maintain the cemetary.
I love the name "Willie High Wolf" this is the coolest cemetery I've seen on RUclips. I love the high grass. Excellent find my friend. It's really awesome that you can still make out the make out the name on the iron!
PS you trimmed lol

God Bless your heart and Thank you! There are not many people who would do this from their own wallet! You Sir, are a kind man, who has a heart of Gold, for the departed. Hats off to you!
Thank you for the kind words as well as for taking the time to watch. I felt like they deserved a little something.
I was watching the Graveyard Guy and he mentioned you so I took a look. This is the first of yours I have watched. Thank you for the work you did here. This is an example of a real gentleman who respects his elders even if not your own. I have been going and wandering cemeteries about 60 years. Moved to Kentucky and there is a small family one across the street. For several years when I first moved here the people who have family there were in Illinois and I mowed there just because. There are so many stories of the people in these graveyards and I sometimes try to find out about them. I am soon to look up a safe cleaning of stones and will try to help restore the ones here. Again thank you and you at least this one put out a good video.
Steven the Graveyard Guy is a good guy. We sort of bounce things off of each other and have been for most of this year I think. We should be meeting up some time next year. We both doing graves and cemeteries. I'm happy to meet someone like yourself who shares the same passion as I do for cemeteries. That's very kind of you to help make a difference in a cemetery. I really don't feel many people do. I try to at least make a little difference here and there when I can. There are some cemeteries that I've put in a lot of work and others where I haven't. I enjoy seeing the different ones though and learning the history as you do. Thanks for watching and commenting. Glad you found me.
You arevone of the most kind, caring and selfless people I have ever ran acrossed... Thank you for all that you do to help get these cemeteries taken care of... God Bless
I'm happy to do it when I can. Thank you for watching Lkydog8165!
God Bless you for what you did to that forgotten cemetery. So sad that they are forgotten and the grounds are not regularly cared for.
Thank you. I think they deserve a little more but I think the caretakers of this one have just died out. It is sad.
Well done for taking the time to do that my husband from crow family thank you x
Is he an Old Crow Cheyenne? I'm trying to get the Cheyenne Nation involved and could use some help on that.
@@RhettyforHistory all I know is the American was driving them north they split into two one lot went to the east and my ggggnan Sara crow whent into Canada to the fort we're they were safe Thomas berry named her Sara 🥀
@@RhettyforHistory if been looking into this i was told Sara crow and Thomas berry had two children she changed to a Christian Thomas brought the two children back to England there was no Sara with him I don't know if she died I would not think the crow would let the children go if she was still alive dose that help hope so 😘
I think you may be talking about the Crow Nation? As far as the name Crow it is found in many nations. But this particular name is Old Crow which is part of the Cheyenne Nation.
Thank you, not just for the video and the name its the fact you took the time to clean this cemetery up. We often forget about the dead and we shouldn't ever forget. They two were once loved and they lived and we need to have respect for this face!
Yes they were once people too. I don't know them but I thought and still think they deserve a little more. I think they were forgotten and I just wanted to help remember them. Someone cared about them or otherwise there would be no markers.
Awesome! So glad you've taken this job upon you. Spirits appreciate
Thank you. I appreciate you watching.
I had a friend who I and my boss helped farm his land (and vice versa). He was paid $50 per month to cut the grass on an old cemetery near our properties out in the middle of nowhere. And he did it, even though it was much more time involved than it was worth. Seems a lot of these old places fall by the wayside. County forgets, the descendants forget, and nobody bothers to go clean them up. Maybe it was just poor placement at the time. Folks thought their loved ones would enjoy some scenic view at the top of the hill, never thinking that somebody will have to take care of it. And far too many places are in the middle of nowhere, forgotten over time as we seek what is more convenient for us when we lay them to rest.
They say we die twice. The initial death, and then when folks no longer mention our names.
That's true Ken. People do sort of die twice. It's interesting because the old pioneers just tried to start towns and communities everywhere. They didn't think that technology would come that would cause us to move to more populated areas. No one really ventures out anymore with the Hope's of starting a new town like they used to. Times have certainly changed. Your friend that mowed did that very cheaply but often times you never even get that. When these old caretakers die out the cemeteries is just left with no one to care for them.
That is so nice of you to clean up these folks final resting place
I figured there had to be a reason why I noticed it after passing it for years and never noticing it.
contact The Village see if you can find some volunteers there to help you do that Cemetery the shame it should be like that
I've been in contact with the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribe to see if they can provide some history as well as care for it. So far they are still checking. It's a little ways away from where they are.
Omg! You have made me cry! That was one of the most thoughtful things I’ve ever seen. My mothering is buried in a tiny town called Roaring Springs, Texas. Volunteers care for the cemetery and I am eternally grateful for them. You will be blessed!
That's awesome that your mother's cemetery is taken care of by volunteers! There are a lot of cemeteries out there that need a little help like that. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That was a sign from the spirits for you to take a break, while they enjoy the view of their resting place, god bless you for what you have done ✅
Very nice video. Random act of kindness, level 10: unlocked! Side note... being from Salem, Massachusetts I always get a kick out of what people in other parts of the country call "really old." LOL! A cemetery around the corner from me dates to the mid 1600s. Another cemetery in town has a Mayflower passenger buried in it. Heheheh. Let me know if you're ever in Massachusetts - I'll show you around. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, I appreciate you watching! You're right about the age of cemeteries and not only that but houses. I used to live in Virginia and you could see a lot older ones there. And then when you go to England or other countries you can see ones that even make anything on the east coast seem not so old. It's all really fascinating though. Massachusetts has some really interesting cemeteries though!
@@RhettyforHistory there's a cemetery about 50 yards away from my mom's house. The rusty sign and rusty padlock look so creepy whenever I walk past it!! It goes back from I believe the 1700's. The grave yard is closed to the public. I don't know why.
(Kids vandalizing the property?😕🤷) The only time I seen the gate open is when the lawn care guys came in and mowed the lawn. Drones are NOT ALLOWED to be flown (we live near the Westover air reserve base).
Some of us are really curious and really do want to do a "sneaky" drone video.😁 Four people on her street own drones. Including one police officer.
Some of the upper level drones won't even let you fly in no fly areas because of internal programing. I would bet you could talk to the owner or the lawn guys and ask for permission to go in and look. I would be curious as well but usually people will let you if you ask. That's so old I'm sure they are just trying to protect it.
@@RhettyforHistory City ordinance. No flying drones. Even if it's on your own property or if your exploring with the owners permission.

I just subscribed after stumbling upon this video. You have touched an old lady's heart. Thank you for cleaning up this cemetery. I am sure the Ancestors are smiling. Blessings to you and yours.
Thank you for the kind words. It felt like the right thing to do after finally noticing them being there. I appreciate you watching, commenting and subscribing. If you like history or graves and cemeteries then you're on the right channel. I try to leave cemeteries a little better than when I entered them.
Going through some of your older videos. Enjoy very much! Thanks for your time and effort to make this old cemetery look respectable and cared for!
I think it's the least I can do for them. I hope to inspire others to do a little something in cemeteries even if it's place one flower or straighten ones that are already there. Thanks for watching some of the older ones!
Amen to that! You picked up a new RUclips fan. Even though what you did is big, if we all do something little, we can make a big difference collectively. Thanks again!
Awesome job! It's a shame no one is taking care of this piece of history..thank you!
Thank you Gail. It is a shame. I think it's just a simple case of it being on private property and the caretakers have probably passed away themselves. I'm still trying to encourage the Cheyenne tribe to maintain it even thought it's outside of where they are.
The world needs more people like you to help remember and take care of loved ones who are passed on. Ty.
It's really the least we can do for places like this where the caretakers have passed on themselves. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Oh the names, and ages. Many people don't get to live to a ripe old age. That was a heap of work but a true kindness. Don't know how but wish the town could arrange a group of people to care for that place.
+karen4you I loved reading those names. They were so unique and it was sad seeing how young some of them were. I would love to know more about the history of the cemetery and know if it's maybe connected with a tribe. You're right though, I'm hoping someone somewhere will help it out some. I will say that after I mowed the VA center nearby looked liked they mowed more of what I couldn't get. At least I assume it was them.
Just came across your video..thank you for doing such a great job!!

Nice work man I have always wanted to do that with an abandoned cemetery so sad that people let them get like that.
Thank you! I think the caretakers end up passing away themselves and no one is left. It is sad though. I bet there are some abandoned ones somewhere up in your area.
@@RhettyforHistory I believe that the care of cemeteries is a commitment that must be transmitted from generation to generation. Teach children that tombs hold more than bones, they hold the memory of those who pececed us in life and worked hard to invent the objects and build the places that we now enjoy. It is a matter of gratitude. Greetings from Colombia. (Google translator).

Well, not everyone would do what you did. Especially if they had no one buried there. I clean and care for 70-80 of my ancestors headstone every year and have seen a lot of uncared for stones.... Wanted or not, you do deserve an award for your thoughtfulness!! 🏅🎖🥇🏆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
70 to 80 headstones is a lot to care for. So you sir should be commended as well. There are a lot of people that just won't do that sort of thing because they think it's the cemetery's responsibility even though it's their family.
RhettyforFun
True. 70-80 stones are a lot....but they are my family...from 1836 to the present day I care for all of them. And some forgotten hero’s from the Civil War get a good cleaning and a flag on their stones as well. So I sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness, time, effort, energy and money. There is an old saying “ You really die twice...once on that tragic day and again when they stop speaking your name.”
That's true. I have heard a few variations of that saying but they all mean the same thing. It's always sad when I see forgotten and neglected cemeteries but they are more common than you think.
Thank you for caring it is very appreciated what you have done
Thank you. I think they deserved it and I'm glad I could get it done.
How nice of you to recognize the native americans and precious souls that are buried in this cemetery. They will forever thank you for your kindness because that is the way Native Americans are forever greatful for respect from others. You are awesome !! 👍
Thank you Erika. I've been trying to get the Cheyenne Nation interested in maintaining this cemetery since the names were Cheyenne. It's a little ways away from their tribal lands but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
your time and effort are appreciated. It breaks my heart to see places like these fall to neglect
Thank you. It saddens me too. There are more of these out there than most people think.

It is their way of telling you that you need help, you can't do it all alone. I believe they are proud and grateful for what you have achieved on their behalf? You are a good, kind man working hard to improve their environment. Although they are departed from this life, they are watching over you.
Thank you! I still am hoping to learn more about those that are interred there as well as getting them some care. I'm hoping the tribe will help.
Bless your heart for doing this. All too often the cemetery is not cared for. You are an angel.
Thank you Bettie. I appreciate your kind words as well as for watching.
You are so welcome. I have always felt heartbroken to see a cemetery unkept. It is a shame for any grave to be unkept and forgotten. Many times, my mother would take me out to a old cemetery to place flowers on someone's grave that was without them. We walked amoung the rows and she would read their names and tell me how every grave held a person, and their life was important. I also love the history when you read the stones. We will all be there someday, and every life was interesting and deserves our respect. You will be blessed for this kind deed, and if they could thank you , I am sure they would. God Bless you, and on their behalf, I thank you. Take care, and watch out for the snakes in tall grass out there in OK. My daddy was from Siminole and the snakes, and spiders both are very big there. Be careful and know God is watching.
There are a lot of snakes and spiders in OK. Luckily I have been fine so far. That's great that you and your mother would do that. We need more people doing that in cemeteries. The more people visit the better off the cemetery is.
Commendable work! It takes a special good samaritan to clean a cemetery when you dont have someone who is buried there. The Great Spirit in the sky watched you and He will remember what good you did. WELL DONE!!
Thank you. I feel these people deserve a little more.
Bless you for this gesture of respect!💕😇 It was a joy to see you perform this act of kindness to the should who had gone on. Every life is important and every person deserves to be remembered.
Thank you Jenna. I think they deserved it.
In '09, someone found a small family cemetery near me. They cleared away brush and restored tombstones. He'd stated that every life was important. He even leaves flowers. Because of him, I go and pay my respects.
So you did a great job.☺
That's awesome that you do that! We need more people like you!
That was such an awesome and kind thing to. Other people think, "I wish someone would do something about that overgrown cemetery". But you did do something about it, and I hope you inspired others to maintain this quaint little cemetery in the future.
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to watch as well as comment. It's really surprising how many private cemeteries are out there and it really does take every day people to step up and make a difference. They don't all have perpetual care set up and when family members and friends pass away the care stops.
Your compassion and respect for those who have passed on speaks volumes of the man you are and hopefully it will rub off on others who watch your channel to go and do the same. This was such a thoughtful thing you did and on such a hot day. Your equipment breakdown was probably because of the height and density of the grass and underbrush. I think even with a riding mower or a sickle you still would have had a problem. God bless you for caring.

I'm always hoping to inspire others to do something more even if it's a little and only straightening flowers.
I just came upon your trip to the cemetery. Your a kind heart for clearing the grass and weeds. You made them very happy....Cheers
Thank you. I think they were long overdue.
How incredibly kind of you to do this!
I'm glad I could do it. Thanks for watching!
Guys like you that bring positivity in this world thank you for doing that brother
Thank you! I always try to make a difference and most definitely in cemeteries. Even if it is straightening up one grave.
You did a good thing man!! I was in a cemetery in the middle of a cornfield in Kansas about 30 years ago and I up righted a couple of markers, made me feel good what I did. You did much better opening up a whole cemetery, I hope you find other people to keep up the good work.
Thank you Glenn. I'm working on trying to get the tribe interested in maintaining. The only downside is this is outside of their tribal lands and a little ways away.
I have never seen a cemetery that neglected! You are a great man, for your kindness for these forgotten people ✌️
It's the least I can do. Thanks for watching!
You sir are Amazing,thank you.
Thank you Carole. I just wanted to give them something a little better than what they had.
@@RhettyforHistory and you really did, I was almost in tears watching you, GOD BLESS YOU. You Are AN ANGEL 😇😇😇
Thank you for the kind words.
Bless you Sir for caring for the Forgotten . That could very well be any of us buried in this place . Your Respect & Kindness will be rewarded .
I thought they deserved to be recognized and I felt bad I had passed by them for years and never knew they were there. Thanks for watching.
@@RhettyforHistory You did well . As humans we can only do so much . As far as your mower & cuts go ? It could be that those buried there were simply letting you know the only way that they could . They knew you were there caring for them ? You never know .
It hard to say. I fixed the old edger and mower. The new edger never made it past that day. It was very strange.
I wonder why there were so many young people buried there. It just seems strange.I once knew an older lady that really threw a fit when she noticed the cemetery behind her church. Thing was that the church had promised to take care of it, but weren’t doing it. Well, she wasn’t going to put up with that! This wonderful eighty five year old woman got that church going, and that old cemetery never looked so good!
I think there were so many young people just simply the medicine has changed. Antibiotics, vaccinations and care weren't readily available back then. That's an amazing story on the 85 year old lady. What an inspiration! She definitely would have been someone I would have loved to have spoken with.
I am so glad to have come across this video.
Cudos to you for caring enough!👍
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!
This is the 2nd video I've watched. Thank you for tje history and awareness. I take my kids, both on the spectrum, to cemeteries for history. Also challenges. These videos help them overcome fears.
You're welcome and thank you for watching and commenting. I'm glad you're enjoying them.
Thank you sir from the bottom of my heart for showing such care and respect for those in this and all the other cemeteries you have cleaned up and/or brought to the attention of the proper people! I'm Cherokee and seeing this brought tears to my eyes and ny heart went out to those poor people who were basically forgotten about! May God bless you for all your hard work that you do for these people and honoring their memory by bringing new life to these cemeteries the way you do! You sir are a true hero in my eyes and heart!
Thank you Dave. I appreciate the kind words. I'm just trying to do a little good and hopefully inspire others to do something even if it's straightening flowers on one grave.
There are still gentlemen in this world.
Yes there are and ladies as well. I've had a lot of both help me out on other cemeteries.
You are such a nice man to do this. If everyone would pitch in and help do things like this, the world would be a better place.
Yes I agree Virginia. Unfortunately things like this happen everywhere and not just in cemeteries. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@RhettyforHistory You're very welcome. Thank you for doing your part!
You did brilliantly! Such a kind gesture....do hope other people felt able to come forward and help/maintain all the work you have done....it’s disappointing if it allowed to go back to how it was. Fingers crossed for you, and for the people resting here.
Seemed to be quite a number of young souls buried before their time, which is very sad. Wonderful names too.
Warmest regards from the U.K. 🙋👍👏🏻👏🏻☕️☕️
I'm sure there are more people buried in there that don't have markers. I've been trying to get the tribe interested in the maintenance of the cemetery. It's outside of where they are but hopefully they will do it.
Wow what an amazing person you are......taking time and energy to clear that cemetery for the simple reason of 'respect'......Thank you xxxxx
I felt like they deserved something a little better. I'm happy I could do it. Thanks for watching.
That was a very kind gesture it lovely to see someone taking the time out of there life to pay there respect xx
Thanks for watching. I figured it was the best thing I could do for them.
I’m African American and I appreciate what your doing. You have renewed my faith in humanity. TY
Thank you for watching and commenting Paula!
That was a very sweet thing for you to do. It's so sad that the older cemeteries do not have caretakers and sad the state doesn't take care of it
Thank you! It is sad but it's just not affordable for the state to do it. There are just simply too many.
This is awesome! You are a wonderful person for doing this I'm sure it's much appreciated by the departed spirits! ❤
Thank you Tanya! I just wanted to give them a little of what they deserve.
May God bless you! You're a good man
+Angelia Henderson Thank you, I appreciate the kind words.
Thank you for doing that I will also try to get out there and try to keep it up. I'm not far from Clinton
We have adopted a highway, why not have adopted a cemetery. Alot of family cemeteries have families picnic day, usually in September or October. Where they clean up the plots and make repairs to the stones.
That does work great in a lot of cemeteries that are in the more populated areas as well as those that still have descendants around.
Seeing things like this makes me so happy :) it's so nice to know that there are people like this and people who respect these places and will work on maintaining them when nobody else will
I believe everyone deserves to be remembered. To me this cemetery has a lot of hidden beauty. Thanks for watching!
Nice video love your work
Thank you. I appreciate you watching.
Thank you for kind gesture and respect👍
I'm glad I could do it. Thanks for watching.
What a great guy cleaning up this sacred graveyard. While he's up the town he should call in at the Govt offices and get them off their backsides and have them help, the towns people too, get your tools and give this lovely man some help. The departed deserve respect too. So sad to see so many graves of children and young people. Bless them all, and I hope they get to have a nice, tidy place to rest in peace. In the U.K we have groundsmen who keep our graveyards from becoming so overgrown, shame that does'nt happen over there?
There are grounds keepers in a majority of the cemeteries here but many of these cemeteries such as this one are pioneer cemeteries. Ones like that were on personal land and family members have long since passed away. There are some like that where they have been forgotten over time. I am in contact with the Cheyenne tribe to see if they will take care of it. Only problem is they are a ways away and this is outside of the city limits for a govt entity to take care of it. Not too mention that the funds aren't there in many of these smaller cities. So in many cases it's up to every day people if there are no caretakers.
I've come across a forgotten cemetery years back after losing my damn horse...I never forgot it and always planned to one day return. Now I know exactly what I'll do.
What a awesome and respectful thing to do! God Bless You ✝️ Thank you for all the hard work you put into this. It will come back to you.
Thank you Sue. I appreciate you watching and commenting the kind words.
You really hid your wings well... 🌟
Lol! No wings but I am hoping to inspire others to do something even if it's just straightening flowers or brushing dirt or leaves off of one grave. Thanks for commenting and watching.
RhettyforFun you have , i will think of you every time I do.
That's awesome! Thanks for helping spread the good!
God bless you for being the kind and thoughtful man that you are. You will be rewarded for all that you've done here. There are not many that will do this. I use to live in Edmond Oklahoma, back then me and my domestic partner use to go out on day trips to visit old cemeteries. And yep we'd done some trimming and clearing as well. We always felt great afterwords knowing that we done something good for those laying at rest there. After my partner passed away back on July 18th of 2016, I left Oklahoma and am now back on the Mojave Desert in Southern California. I will say that I do miss Oklahoma. Now had I'd of known you back then I'd of been more than happy to load up the big FERRIS Mower and met up with you. We could of cleared that cometary in no time. I want to say thank you for all that you done for those that are laid to rest there. I'm sure they are looking down and smiling upon you. God bless you and watch over you always.
Thank you I appreciate the kind words as well as you watching. As you know there are a ton of little pocket cemeteries all over the state. Is it like that in California? I don't have any experience with the ones there but I'm picturing them as ones where mowing isn't needed?
