Just heard and started playing since star rail officially released. I think EN va is actually neat compared to the rest. Someone pointed out that he has a bit more character and sounds more shady which I like tbh. His delivery of lines in the game honestly are funny to listen to.
JP Sampo really sells the oily, slick, and buffoonish character very well. But underneath his chicanery lies some sort of hidden dagger that belies his expertise.
I'm gonna get demolished in the comments for that, probably, but... To me, his English voice is seriously the best by far. Yeah, sure, the others are of a sexy himbo kind of guy, but the english VA conveys what the character is the best, in my humble opinion : A cowardly, kinda stupid-sounding, yet *SOMEHOW* very competent intel-provider and thief. In short, it gives Sampo a certain charm that is lacking in other languages. He sounds kind of like a cartoon character and it makes me laugh whenever he speaks.

Herta doesn’t sound cute, Bronya doesn’t sound like a warrior, but sounds like her voice cracks. 24/7. Seele sounds to seriously goofy. Silver wolf voice doesn’t match her face, her herself in general, unlike Hanser. The others are ok, but still sound like a fail. Obv shampoo’s voice in Eng is bad

I think if he was more expressive in body language his en voice would work well with his design, also if he was a bit more uh… yk yeah in his general expressions. But personality wise i think his en voice is perfect

The goofiness EN adds makes him much more exciting and adds more flavor to his character especially when he is a follower of Elation despite his path of Nihility. This is coming from me who had been an Elitist of Japanese dubbing. If they only made him a bit goofier in the other dubbing, making him feel more unhinged, then I would probably rate them on an equal level. I'll admit I was appalled by his voice at first when I heard him but when I played the story, EN voice fits him the best.
JP and ENG are a bit more "weird" and "joker-like" but JP give me a more Hisoka kind of vibe, and ENG while eccentric he give me less of a "ew gotta stay away from him" kind of vibe. KOR sounds nice but lacks the vibe/tone that makes Sampo _Sampo_ if you get my gist, like it just sounds too normal. Chinese is a perfectly balanced voice, sounds like a normal dude with a bit of "strangeness" to him, idk how to describe it, but it fits Sampo perfectly imo. Cause he's not so over-the-top like Hisoka, he's not too normal like KOR's voice, he's normal yet also strange, and since we don't know if he's on our side or has a hidden motive, his voice being "normal with a bit of umph" fits him better because he helped us so we see him as a good guy, for now.

개인적으로는 한국어랑 영어가 좋은게 한국어 더빙은 유쾌한척 하면서도 속에 뭔가 검은 속내가 있는 느낌이 너무 맘에 들고 영어는 반대로 스토리에서 나오는 그대로 굉장히 유쾌한 부분을 잘 살려서 정말 좋았어요! 일본어 더빙은 연기는 정말 잘하신거 같은데 애가 그냥 변태가 된 것 같아서 살짝 아쉬웠고, 중국어는 중국 컨텐츠를 자주 안봐서 판단하기가 어려움 ㅠㅠ 근데 발음이 섹시한건 중국이 베스트인거같음
I like to think English Sampo could mark a seggsy Boi e if we wanted to, but her pits on a more friendly and salesman voice to appeal to people (I’m sure the seggsy voice would work too but ok)
I feel like for me Sampo sounds very shady, merchant like in JP, EN and KR I don't really get that vibe from CN because I'm unfamiliar with how CN should sound... Though JP and KR sound like a person who secretly looks down on you while buttering you up (but you can feel the bit of mockery still) while EN feels like he's very obviously pretending to be stupid which is also a form of mockery (but you don't really hear darkness like in JP, KR)
The English voice is the best one and i cannot be convinced otherwise. He just sounds so alive and flamboyant. It somehow manages to be both goofy fun and a little mysterious at the same time

I think that one problem of the EN one is that he doesn't make that dramatic pause when the explosion takes place, and that makes it a bit awkward.
