I think Rhett’s worship for female anatomy is pretty cool. Women experience so much shame relating to their anatomy that hearing someone talk about it with such awe and positivity is great… imho.
I agree. He doesn't sound pervy, he sounds genuinely appreciative. I mean.. he relates our anatomy to the entire universe.. lol. Pretty poetic and sweet, honestly.
Felt the same way. It really was refreshing.
You can always tell that he's super in love with his wife still.
@@kroneexe only if it's random and out of context. Lol. In an open conversation like this, it wouldn't be. 😛

Rhett’s way of overcoming the awkward: make so so many jokes
Link’s way of overcoming the awkward: very serious and professional no party all business
link saying him and his girlfriend “were not very aspirational” 😭
Plus the nervous twitch rubbing of his hands
The duo in a nutshell
🤣
party in the rhett, buisness in the link
Rhett's memory makes me think I'm broken. Link's memory makes me feel normal.
Same😑
Yeah I don't understand how people can remember their childhood like that
@@hkh25219 most people will fill in major gaps in their memory, kinda just based off of evidence of what they can remember.
Just gonna say it- Links childhood was a little more traumatic from what we know, literally just the divorce and Rhetts was super normal. If you had a rougher childhood you're more likely to block most of it out. Speaking from experience. 🙃
@@hkh25219 i can only remember very specific stuff very well. Feels like rng what my mind decided to have a vivid memory of.

Rhett: "I was really interested in people's homes and especially their fridges".
Why doesn't that surprise me? 😂
And he pretty much made a career about of it.

Yup - exactly.
I think link is a little gay but loves his wife
@@aktareseneir6308 nah just massively repressed
Rhett having such a reverence for vaginas is honestly really lovely, to me. Vaginas get used as such a derogatory term in our culture, and having someone compare them to the shape of the universe feels really nice.
It's really nice for me to see that someone I look up to, Rhett, is just as obsessed and fascinated by vaginas as I am.

Right there with ya!
When Rhett and Link talk openly and honestly and don't judge each other but affirm each other and be like "hey it's okay you're valid" It's beautiful to see two older men being so honest and real with themselves and each other.

This is honestly one of the best episodes lol. I love seeing them cover more of these adult topics. I also love that they’re not as “family friendly” on GMM anymore, which is nice!
This isn’t GMM this is the podcast they’ve always been less family friendly here
@@indoorgreg7364 i think they’re talking about actual GMM and how they’re making more adult jokes over there too recently
@@indoorgreg7364 I know this isn’t GMM. I’m just specifying how they’re way less cautious and even more open about adult-oriented jokes and content now days on their podcast and GMM
Rhett and Link have said before that they have gradually matured their content as their kids have matured, so now that their kids are almost adults they’re feeling free to say a lot more adult things!
I love how they've grown with their audience as well. I was recently saying to my partner that they've definitely let loose more over the years and I love it.
Oh god this feels like when you finally get old enough that your parents stop censoring themselves around you when they talk 😅
NO LITERALLY
This is exactly how Rhett and Link have stayed relevant and popular for so many years. Always thinking out of the box and showing that it's beneficial to grow with your audience.
It kind of breaks my heart that Link felt so much shame.
I mean I think it’s just a personality thing, in many ways. And honestly, the guys who grow up feeling those things end up being the more genuinely respectful ones later in life. They’re more awkward, but that’s because they’re trying so hard to not be overly curious or rude.
@@thecoach3577There’s no correlation between being a shameful child and being a respectful adult
going from using the euphemism "sorting the mail" to this is kind of hilarious. I'm here for it
They said "sorting baseball cards" and I was terrified at first
I identified as bisexual for many years but only in the last years I’ve figured out I’m a lesbian. I was still questioning it. But the more and more Rhett explain his experience with seeing breasts and vaginas for the first time. I was legitimately shocked at how identical my expectations was with his. I’ve never felt more understood and validated in my sexuality than I have listing to this episode.

Rhett's a man with a lot of passion you can just tell. He remembers this so vividly, he speaks with so much energy, he really just is a passionate person.
As a mother of two boys who haven’t reached this phase of life yet, I appreciate the insight into this a lot!
Yes. It helps me understand my husband and son so much better.
As a mother just entering this phase with my son has been wild. We have made sure to have open discussions with our kids.
I wholeheartedly believe Rhett's wife is worshipped XD
No doubt.
You know he makes sure she is taken care of if you know what I mean
While listening to this I was thinking Rhett’s wife is a LUCKY woman!
I’m a 70 year old woman who had NO OLDER BROTHER! Geez I wish Ear Biscuits had been around in 1962 or thereabouts. Great episode guys.
Lololol, I can’t imagine. How did you guys find out that stuff then? Parents or peers?

As someone who is on the asexuality spectrum, Rhett's fascination is fascinating in itself.

@Tom Mccarthy yes 😊
@Tom Mccarthy very very very spectrum_y. i consider myself on it. while i can be sexually attracted to someone. its extremely extremely rare. like twice in my 30 year of living (and im single, its not like somethings stopping me). so i cant exactly say im normal when compared to everyone else that finds many many many people attractive...u get me? and this is only one aspect of Asexuality variations im talking about. there are many more.

I would love if they had guests on like Stevie to give a lesbian perspective and I'm not sure if any males in the crew are gay, but as a gay man I'd like to hear those perspectives as well. Probably a different series, but something to consider.

I really like that idea and was thinking the same thing myself. I think they may have done something similar on the Mythical Crew podcast with some of the LGBTQ+ crew a while back but it would be fun to have Rhett and Link in on the discussion, too, to talk about differences btwn growing up LGBTQ+ vs. straight. This podcast was fun bec, as a gay man, I related to some things and VERY much not to others 😆
My heart total broke for Link about sneaking around to use his mom's tweezers, having done the same thing as a teenage girl 😕

It’s terrible that so many kids experience this amount of shame, especially about simple things like eyebrow plucking. I hope I can have open communication with my kids.
Heck I was even scared to talk to my mom about shaving my legs. Needless to say we didn't have open communication!
I'm very lucky I have a mother I tell ANYTHING to not all have that
My son just had his first "sleepover" at his long time gf's house. His dad and I were living together for a year at his age like what do I say. Nothing. Just told him we have condoms in the medicine cabinet, and if they disappear we will buy more. No questions asked.
God damn
That’s a healthy way to think about it. Even though it would naturally be slightly awkward for the kid. Lol.
My mom always tells me she knows at my age stuff CAN happen with a partner just take safety precautions of course 🤷
Good parenting alert!
What an awesome mother you are.
Can I just say as a lesbian I strongly relate to Rhett's story. I love this, excited for the rest of the month! Breaking boundaries my dudes, you're killing it.

Same, I strongly relate to the way he is attracted to women. Even though I'm bisexual, for a very long time, I thought I was lesbian because I was attracted to women, since I can remember, and didn't start liking men until middle school lol 🤣
@@christinecannibal844 im the same way- my preference heavily leans towards women. for the longest i couldnt tell if i was straight or lesbian because i loved women but still crushed on some dudes.

Okay so for this. I see the other. Rhett is confirming his straight experience and identify. Link I strongly feel is queer.

Watching this makes me realize how fast the years have gone by. I started watching gmm when I was around 10 and I’m almost 18 now.
Damn, that makes me feel old. 🤣
Get out of here! You're not old enough yet

I was 13 and now I’m almost 21 🥲🥲
Same I just turned 19🤦🏾♀️
“I was interested in peoples homes and especially their fridges.” Inviting yourself into someone’s home after just meeting them and then proceeding straight to the refrigerator is the most Rhett thing I’ve ever heard. 😂
I love the disclaimer about still having the brain of a 12 year old boy cuz I was laughing at all the innuendos. Apparently, I too have the brain of a 12 year old boy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 super excited for this series! In all seriousness, You guys are doing something important by having such an open discussion. In some ways, we all have the brains of 12 year old boys🤣

A whole new meaning for “baby powder” 🤣🤣🤣
I do like the story of Link's mom giving him the talk. It seems very much in line with how it's handled today. Giving them access to the information, and then offering to be there for any questions
Love that the first 5 mins are them apologizing for the whole month. C'mon guys haha We're gonna be OK.
I will never look at softsoap the same way again. But seriously, great podcast guys. We all have those initial questions and urges and it's nothing to be ashamed of. It's interesting to get the story of that from R&L. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing
You have no idea the love/hate relationship between boys and SoftSoap.... no idea. lmao
I've always made that connection😄
I see this series of sexually open episodes, along with some cussing thrown in, helping them feel way more comfortable about making innuendos or adult jokes on GMM. This is the most open they’ve ever been. They’ve always been sort of cautious in the past with what they say.
the theme song for people who feel uncomfortable with this Ear Biscuits month of podcast is "Wake Me Up When September Ends" (or Sextember, if you like puns)
How could a man with such impeccable manga taste have made such a silly joke
Ayy. Puns and plays on words aren't the same thing. I hate that I'm being that guy, but, I hate being so it works, I guess 🙃
Hahahah nice pun, I love Green Day
green day and gmm are my two most favorite things in the world 😩🥰
i think discussions like this are so so valuable, even as someone who wasn't raised with strict purity culture I still dealt with so much uncertainty and shame as a teen and hearing these two people who i greatly respect talk about their experiences is so validating

As a woman, I was surprised to listen to this and feel totally validated by Rhett talking about his fascination with female anatomy 🤣 I don't find it creepy. I actually find it flattering somehow? Welcome to the oddities of being human lol! I've also had the "I was made for this" feeling about this subject. It's probably more common than I would have thought at a younger age.
Yes I agree. I dont think its creepy at all.
it's genuinely very interesting to listen to you talk about a topic like this in both a very personal way but also with such an approach that completely destigmatizes this absolutely normal part of life.
so, thanks guys for being so open about it and making it really comfortable as well as endlessly amusing to listen to you talk about this. 😃👍
The majority of my listening for this episode was done while out on a walk and I had to try and keep my laughter to myself. So much respect for you two always, but especially when you cover topics that others shy away from. Your wives are some lucky ladies!
Also, I feel link Link's talk about his experience plays so completely into his personality type as previously explored. He didn't want to be doing anything "wrong."
Looking forward to hearing you guys talk more about growing up within purity culture. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it seems to be a topic that mostly women speak out about, so I'm actually curious to hear more from the male perspective.
Fun fact Rhett! It's not weird to think of the "Shape within a shape" thing! If you delve more into nature and biology, nature has a wild way of liking and reusing patterns and symmetry. Trees, leaves and their indentations, branches and what not all are reminiscent of the body's veins, arteries, etc.
I have pretty translucent skin, so I can see the veins in my chest area pretty good. Even my colorblind SO can see them, and we both agree they look like branches just reaching outward towards my shoulders! Nature is funny, but repetitive sometimes! So don't worry! Not weird! Lol
I have often looked up through tree branches at the night sky and been amazed at how much it looks like neurons in a brain.

I needed this episode 10 years ago!!!!! I hope it helps other kids who feel shame and who are uneducated about this topic, feel more comforted and accepted.
Rhetts reaction to the calendar is HILARIOUS.
I was diagnosed with precocious puberty at age 6 meaning I went into full puberty by 6 and a half. It’s interesting to hear how other people went through the same things as I did, maybe a little later than me but it was very difficult feeling so much shame as a 7/8/9/10 year old about feeling certain feelings!
I'm so much like Link. My step-mom was an RN and gave me brochures, I get his weird food things, and we're both very particular about random things. Just sending Link some love, bc it's hard being a weirdo!

Rhett has lesbian level passion for the female body and I can respect that
Great episode. Love seeing all the positivity in the comments. Perfect timing for my shift today. Bring on Sextember.
not Rhett making a "strap on" joke less than 3 minutes in lmao
I'm actually really glad that these two are covering more adult topics and becoming less "family friendly" in a way. Granted, they're always going to be wonderfully kind guys but hearing them talk about more "adult" things is so comforting because a lot of us have grown up with them and have become adults whilst watching them. They're both wise and just basically the RUclips dads. They've created a safe and comfortable environment for this kind of talk and I'm real thankful for that. It's also really lovely to see them both validate one another and just be open and honest about these things, it just makes it feel all the more comfortable.
I feel the same way as Rhett. Woman and thier anatomy are the pinnacle of the human form and beauty. Glad to know others feel the same way, I thought I was a crazy weirdo. Great podcast my guys, nice job.
I'm barely in it, Rhett is barely describing a dream, and this is invaluable. This is content, unfiltered reality and I'm so for it.
My parents put the book “Where Did I Come From?” In my book shelf when I was born and that pretty much covered everything and I don’t remember ever having any questions, I just remember thinking the illustrations of the married couple looked way older than my parents.
My friend's mom gave her this book and we spent many scandalous hours giggling over it.
Oh. My. God. I just googled this because I remember a book like this when I was very young and I had this book. Lol. I think my parents threw it out because I only saw it once and never again. Oh my god lol.
This was a very touching episode. Pun intended. I just love their willingness to be honest.

Let’s be real, if Link made the strap-on joke, Rhett would’ve been like “come on, let’s be mature man…”, but Rhett finds it hilarious when he says it. One of the reasons I love them.

You have reverence, Rhett. There are many people who believe the same way about women. Lot's of witches and spiritual people agree with you.
I haven’t laughed this hard in a very, very long time. Like, tears rolling down my face laughing. Specifically at Link’s realization of what Rhett was doing on his bathroom shifts at The Groc, and Rhett referring to himself as a “professional masterbater”, and technically not being wrong about it. 🤣🤣🤣
This was such an interesting and funny podcast, its like all kids have the same experience w/ puberty and feeling like you have to be so secretive about discovering yourself and ur body. Im excited for the rest of the series
I really appreciated the openness of this episode. Too much in our culture there is shame attached to all these natural processes of growing up. It was great to feel validated!! Even as a straight woman!
I remember when I was 12 going to a fundamental Baptist church, a boy grabbed my hand. I freaked out, because the only thing I knew that married people did was hold hands..... I was like shit I’m pregnant!!! I hated that boy lol 😂
🤣
This series has been so interesting and helpful to me. I’m 20 now and also grew up( and still currently growling up) in purity culture. Hearing other people’s stories let’s me know I’m not alone in shame and curiosity. I’ve been watching these guys for about 9 years now, they’ve also been a comfort to me. It’s funny when they referred to themselves as brothers, because I never exactly thought about it before but they are like big brothers to me. They’ve always been kind and personable, this just adds another layer. Thanks guys 💙
Listening to Link attempt to explain garter belt lingerie was amazing LOL
Rhett's love for beans makes so much sense now.
I could definitely relate to Link's experience the most but I could relate to Rhett's experience just a bit. But I definitely got emotional because for the longest time I couldn't put into words my own experience and Link basically summed it up for me. Hearing Rhett and Link talk about this has made me feel better about myself in this type of area. It's made me actually want to try to figure it out and attempt to talk to my therapist about it. So that's what I'm going to try. I love hearing Rhett and Link talk about stuff that's relatable and vulnerable. This was a great episode!
Thank you both for this series! I am proud of you guys for being so open. I also came from an extreme level of shame as a kid and then into purity culture. This stuff can be very traumatic and takes a lot to get over.

I love Link’s confidence that it’s not going to be boring and you’ve got something for us.
I love how the first 10 mins of this video is explaining that this episode is going to be pretty R rated.
The way they talk about vaginas omg absolutely respectful but still saying how much they love them. Men need to learn how REAL MEN feel about their women sexually
I can’t thank you enough for talking about this, finding out who you are sexually is an important part of growing up and becoming an adult.

I love this because this isn’t a perspective people get to hear much! My husband and I got married at 19 and he’s the only man I’ve ever been with. The beauty in that for me is we learned together. It’s great.
This is making me so emotional. I'm still unraveling the effects of purity culture on my psyche. I'm grieving for the childhood I didn't have.
This stuff isn’t talked about so openly very much, so I find it valuable and interesting to know that, even when coming from totally different backgrounds, you’re experiences growing up are very relatable to mine and others.
