I used to do something like this. Back in the golden era of 2004-2006, I would go to tournaments and see Azen picking random tags and playing random characters in tournaments. I sort of copied him- I would go to NY / PA / MD tournaments and register as other well-known community members and win them under a fake tag. This was before recording videos so you just had to be there to know. I finally got "caught" when I won a tournament as X Japan, a Link players from NYC, who happened to be recording and playing at a tournament in NYC on the same day. It's too hard to do stuff like this now I think.

This type of thing is awesome. Some of my best gaming memories are playing a shooter on aliases with best friends in a game that had a small but 15yo community.

This is definitely an interesting perspective - I always thought the idea of falcomaster was someone who played in a way that was uninventive, or otherwise “lame”, but if you weren’t paying attention or playing well, you would drop the set to. Like more of a pejorative term. Like I just got falcomastered, damn
