Never grocery shop at Target. You go to wearmart on river road north just down the road from that Target,
Can you do a video of shopping from the local farms stands and the cost of buying direct from the Farm stands. Thanks
I will add it to my list of topics. Thank you for the suggestion.
FYI - the foods far fresher at almost any typical grocery store vs at target… Costco grocery’s turn over so fast that they’re almost the freshest food you can buy except for farm fresh produce..
Tip #1, don't do grocery shopping at target
I completely understand your perspective, and I really appreciate your feedback. I chose Target for this video because I wanted to give people relocating to Salem a familiar point of reference.
Since many of us have a local Target, I thought it might be helpful to compare prices at an Oregon Target to what folks are used to at their own stores.
What local grocery store would you recommend I check out next?
California, lalaland - Cost of gas is exceptionally low for the west coast - not sure that would be reflective of a typical day.. unless ur a major commuter… … the rest seems very average - ie, no great cost savings.. were those “HAPPY HOUR” prices vs “normal” evening prices?? And why write it all down.. dont you have the receipts???
Im in Los Angeles CA and Tillamook cheese is $4.99 here
Do you think it’s worth it?
I honestly buy any cheese and they're all about the same price
@@Slasher_Kirby What are your gas prices like now?
I've seen as low as $4.80, cheap gas and close to $6 at like She'll, Chevron etc
$6 for gas!! Thats insanity. Do the high prices stick around for long or is it just a season trend?
We're under $3 here a gallon for gas in Richmond, VA! Although grocery costs are pretty comparable... Depending on the restaurant, cost of eating out seems similar too!
Thanks for sharing!
Fairbanks, Alaska - Fred Meyers
Silk Almond milk: $4.29
Eggs (Kroger brand): $2.49
Kroger Gala Apples, 3lb: $5.99
Tillamook cheese 8oz sharp or extra sharp cheddar: $5.99
Tillamook Ice Cream: $6.49
At Safeway add about a dollar or 2 to everything on this list. Tillamook ice cream is 7.49 to 8 at Safeway.
gas is $3.39 a gallon currently. not too bad.
Date night: anywhere from $70 - $100 without tip.
We're moving to Salem this summer!!
This is a great breakdown. Alaska used to feel so expensive and now it feels closer to what we pay down here. How long have you lived in Alaska for?
@@SalemOR I've lived in Alaska for my whole life except for 6 months when I was a baby (Born in Portland) and 6 months when I was about 6 or 7 years old we briefly moved to Washington. I'm 40 now so about 39 years in Alaska! I'm ready for rainy winters and actually having places to go and not feel like I live on the moon! Alaska prices are very similar except for things like clothes, those are way too much here so I order everything online. Last summer when we were down there visiting I was amazed at how affordable some things where! Rent is the same in Salem as Alaska as well. But utilities are waaay cheaper in Oregon. An Alaskan pays about $400 in heating fuel, $300-$400 in electric (7-8 months out of the year for plugging in the car so it doesn't freeze and keeping every light on in the house to stave off the crippling depression due to no sunlight, like pitch black at 3pm) $200 - 250 for water...I am sure I'm missing something...but yeah. I am so over Alaska, ready to get back to my birthland haha
Great comparison here!
I like the fairness of the apples lol
They were very fair. ‘Twas a fair lady 🍎👑
I live in Phoenix AZ and I was on the target website to match prices and they were all the same!
Except the ice cream was cheaper at 5.19 and eggs were 2.29. 10 cents difference
Gas is pretty much the same here too!
Great way to compare it!
What about going out to eat for happy hour. How much would that cost you?
Thanks for watching ◡̈
😀🙂 Great videos!😊🙂
Thanks! 😃
Are there any Walmarts or Costco‘s in Salem?
We have one Costco and a few Walmarts throughout the city.
First 👍 lol
just moved to salem......OMG!!!!! its so bleak and dystopian. Whole state feels like one single rotting corpse. scared the sht out of me... I guess the game "Days gone" was real.. just that those freakers were average normal oregonians!!!
Salem is not the right place for everyone and I appreciate you sharing your perspective and thoughts about the city. I know others would love to hear more about where you relocated from and what you dislike most about the city.
@@akahina While our viewpoints differ, I think your perspective is valuable for others to hear.
Salem is not the right place for everyone, which is why I make these videos.
My hope is for people to have ample information about Salem so that they can make a well informed decision for themselves if they are thinking about relocating to the area.
It sounds like you moved away from Salem. Where did you move to and what was the reason you left?
