    Moved to Canyon Lake early April 2021 from Yakima, WA. I work in New Braunfels and I haven't regretted the move whatsoever. It's the people. I feel blessed to live amongst them.

    Moved to NB from OR. Honestly it has been the best decision for our family. Every morning I wake up and feel so thankful to be here. We love the community, the town and the weather, I only wish that we would’ve moved here sooner. Our house is in its final stages to be completed and we cannot wait to move into our community.

    We love living here, NBTX has been a dream for close to 20 years. I would say though that new construction quality is suffering, even among highly rated builders. In the end, I think all will be a net positive. The infrastructure improvements planned should also help.

    Regrets? Lol! Is it possible to have less than zero regrets? Negative regrets? Love the area, the shopping, the friendly people, the weather, the rivers, the views, the ice houses and dance halls, wine country & the definitely love the conservative atmosphere. We should have moved here years ago! Thanks Raad!

    Thanks for promoting my brothers and children being unable to afford their own state. "Get here quick before prices go up...." Yeah! Keep coming here to flood New Braunfels citizens out of their own hometown!! We *love* it. Nothing beats trying to purchase a home in a town you grew up in and being outbid by people flooding in or buying future rental properties. Gotta love being drowned out of your own home. So neighborly. Thanks, New Braunfels!! But hey... as long as money can be made out of this, I suppose... who cares about those who've been here their whole lives?

    People moving to the NB area should know that eventhough homes are a bit more affordable here... you will be driving to San Antonio, San Marcos and Austin all the time to go shopping, restaurants, etc. Our mileage/gas has tripled now because there's not much in New Braunfels and what we have is actually very expensive! As a California refugee I am surprise that restaurants in NB are more expensive than LA.

    • @andrewjarvis7777
      @andrewjarvis7777 2 года назад +1

      This started as an idea of simply “moving to san antonio” for us…meaning the entire SA area…
      But then I found out about new braunfels and really fell in love with the idea of NB specifically.
      But now I’m realizing that perhaps going back to simply broadening my horizon/search to the san antonio area would probably make the entire experience easier and more enjoyable…..I’m starting to think focusing simply on NB is probably not the best idea.
      But i dunno, NB seems to have so much charm it’s tough to pull back now lol

    • @alwaysinsearch
      @alwaysinsearch 2 года назад +1

      @@andrewjarvis7777 It has its charm but it's still developing. Maybe in 5+years there will be more. I only sleep in NB but I have to go to the major nearby cities to go the doctors, shopping, eat, play, etc.

    We too made the decision to move to New Braunfels from SoCal in 2021. The housing market made it the right time for us. Although my husband is still living and working in California until his retirement in the Fall of 2022. I miss him like crazy, but we have no regrets on making this kinda crazy choice of living apart for a year. We have a beautiful home in the Hill Country with beautiful views and gorgeous sunsets.
    Yes, I miss the family in California, but I also have family just 2 hours away, and that makes my heart happy. ❤

    Our home is being built by TriPointe Homes and is moving along faster than I had anticipated due to the supply chain and labor shortages. If the builder continues at it's current pace our home should be complete in March/April. We already have a Realtor here in California to determine when would be the best time to put our current home on the market, we plan on not moving twice, not worth it to us. For those who are looking into moving be aware that moving companies will not move some items for you like papers with PI on them, Jewelry, plants, Firearms and ammo, flammable liquids and so on. Due your research well in advance.
