- Join me on this craft DIY where I recreate vintage Halloween decorations! In these crafts I use paper and paints to make some classic Halloween decorations that bring out that vintage spirit. There's just something so whimsical yet spooky about these retro decorations, i just had to make them myself! This spooky month is the perfect time to get up to some witchy goodness, and make do with what we have. I hope you join along and make something yourself. It's better for the planet, and will be a fun, quick craft that will mean a lot more than your standard 'off-the-shelf' decoration. They're perfect if you, like me, can't afford true vintage decorations but love the look!

@@SalindaNichols totally get that. When I wrote my Hallowe'en decorating books I did a craft on covering the plastic pumpkin buckets with paper mache (used the brown paper towels for that vintage look) inside and out. Then painted them.
I keep the cat head one out all year and that's been 20 years ago now!!
It looks like my papier-mache friends are in it for the long hau thenl! I'll have to try covering a plastic pumpkin sometime too 😊

Thank you! The candelabra is thrifted, the cat with a witch hat is from a random craft store from a few years ago, and the star shaped tealight holder is from Michael's 🧡
I used papier maché for a cosplay I did years ago, and instead of flour, I used paper glue. It dried pretty quickly and was quite sturdy. Maybe a good alternative? Great video!!
Glue seems to be the general consensus! I thought I only had flour on hand, but unbeknownst to me I had PVA glue in the house too!
