I find it incredible how Adachi is observant enough to take note of things even while reeling in pain. I don't think I'd be able to tell that the person who just punched me in the gut avoided a very specific part of my body.

I think the writers thought that Adachi's disgust towards the comment about Dojima warranted a new expression to highlight that he still cares about Dojima to be offended at him being speculated as a murderer.

the thing is, this is the cause of human incompetence and them lashing their anger out on a detainee, in P5 they were essentially controlled by a politician with ties in just about every important aspect of Japan, very different circumstances
Except in P5, they straight up made the protagonist sign an admission through torture (when it's clearly obvious) and they didn't give a damn about the video because they implied the video will not be used as evidence

He was pretty gifted and top of his class. Part of the reason he was in the academy is cause he was pushed to by his parents. Not something most Westerners would understand.

Adachi seems to actually be pretty intelligent, he just chooses not to put that knowledge to use most of the time because he sees no reason to and he's bored with his life/frustrated with it.

I mean you could say this is what he was always like. He definitely let his emotions get the better of him when he was rejected and threw the two women in the tv. Then it only spiraled down from there. This is just him after the case was resolved and he's in an arguably more stable state of mind.

But he was an antagonist. He worked in direct contrast to the main protagonist. Which is what an antagonist is.

Love villains like Adachi that get beat by the protagonist and gain a respect for them, don’t give up their evil nature but also agrees to stop doing evil stuff and atone. Bonus points if they have a run in with a new spin off villain that makes them mad when they disrespect the protagonist and his team
