Say what you will about Superchargers as a game but they handled reposes the best by completely revamping old skylanders from the ground up rather than just adding one move
YES. Bone Bash Roller Brawl is probably the best by design. She looks more... Edgy, which I think fits her character. Also, I love her vehicle. The Tomb Buggy is easy for shooting enemies out of the sky, and the second attack helps clear enemies and obstacles in front and beside you. But wait until it is Supercharged. The Tomb Buggy turns black, referencing Rollar Brawl's older design from Swap Force.
Aquaman Gill Grunt and "We live in society" Terrafin are definitely my personally favorites out of the Supercharger "reposes". The others are fine, except I hate "Tuba" Pop Fizz. But I prefer Stormblade over any of them. Out of all of them, I only owned Supercharger Terrafin and the reason why I called him "We live in society" Terrafin because one of the Shark Tank mods gave me strong Joker vibes and made me realize how "We live in society".
When I got into the games I also noticed that the Swap Force reposes were more distinctly different from their originals. I think you made some great points, both the positive and negative things you said. Terrific video production as always!
To be honest, I don’t mind reposes. I started in giants and it gave me to oppertunity to play the ssa skylanders without having to search for them. And later, I just ignored the reposes. They only took roster spots that I didn’t have to buy, because I already had them. If I had SSA before giants, and bought all the ones that got reposes. I didn’t need to buy any reposes, and only had to buy 14 figures (because tree Rex and jet vac were in the starter kit)
I honestly hate reposes so much. because even though they add nothing new to the game, even though they are the exact same character twice, even though they don't even appear in the in-game collection menu. They still sit there on the posters, taunting me.
Yeah true but at least the other three games well except for she didn't get any gorilla driller not rubber rouser because for some reason he's very slow if you don't have a hat and into increases speed at least up to 20 or 15%, the truck 10 games are annoying and the rounds and imaginators let's not talk about that superchargers but it's nowhere horrible the imaginators trust me ask me to put a list why I hate it and what they really really did wrong but this game was a rush. 😠😡🔥.
I think that a good way for reposes to work would be if there was a poll online that anybody could respond to about what the best skylander from a certain game was. the most popular skylander gets a repose and a new paint job with a wow pow. then the next repose is done with a poll of the skylanders from the game the last repose was from. This way, we get more of the characters we love but they don't crowd the roster. Too bad we can't turn back time and tell activision that reposes were a mistake.
The undead repose for Trap Team was going to be Cynder but she was scrapped late in production. There is an image of the prototype figurein Toys For Bob's offices online.
I was never and I'm still not a fan of reposed series skylanders. The only reposed series skylander I own is Volcanic Eruptor but that's because he is a special variant which makes him cooler and more unique than the other reposed series skylanders and he came with the 3DS version of Swap Force. But my brother loves the reposed series skylanders because he loves to pretend they're siblings of the series 1 skylanders. It's infinite times worse than him being a Sprocket fan.
The thing with having a series 1 and series 2 of the same Skylander is that you can choose different upgrade paths to try both of them out without resetting
I really enjoy the resposes as they bring back most of the better skylanders from past games and most of the resposes having really unique wow pows make them really fun to use
i bet if they made less reposes and gave reposes slightly altered movesets that you have access to straight away, they wouldnt have contributed to the downfall of the series as much
Prism break's and chop chop's reposes actually looked really cool, and since I don't really play the game anymore, I'm left with amazing figures Although, I can't disagree that some of the reposes were quite useless
Fun fact: in the undead element in trap team, we were supposed to get a Series 4 Cynder and there is actually an image of her figure in the toys for bob HQ
When I was younger I found out that some of the Skylanders with different coloured toys didn't change the colours in the game and some of them did which was very disappointing cuz when I got that gummy drill sergeant it wasn't transparent red in the game
I remember when I was little I didn’t even realize the series 2s had a new ability. It was only until swap-force came out and they actually marketed it
I can't speak of anything beyond Spyro's Adventure because I'm just now getting into the series but I'm excited about Giants because with the series 2 i can go down the other upgrade path that i didn't for my series 1. Perfect example would be Lightning Rod where I like both paths but can only have 1.
honestly i just like them because i like to look at them! i dont really seek them out because i want 16 gill grunts, i look for them because i like to see their cute little poses :3
I actually enjoyed trying to get two of the characters, one from Spyro's Adventure and one from Giants. Mainly cuz it would allow me to have a character with both paths.
You know one thing you could do is if you have a repose or variances of a Skylander you already have is just do there other path in there upgrades. So at least they will play somewhat different. For example I have Series 1 Hex (with no broken arm ;p) and Lightcore Hex, with one I did the top upgrade path and the second I did the bottom one. :)
The undead repose for trap team would have been a series 4 Cinder. There's actually a livestream I believe where a developer of some sorts has a series 4 cinder prototype in the background. She looks very much like series 2 cynder with metal armor.
You should talk about Lightcores next. Believe me, I have Lightcore Prism Break, Lightcore Flashwing, TWO Lightcore Warnadoes, Lightcore Smolderdash, and I think that's it.
With skylanders, giants and swap force, it seemed like a reasonable possibility to get all of them (not each version but at least one of each slylander) but by trap team I just got one of each element and was done with it. Kind of unfourtunate since it was one of my favourite mechanically
I never had the original base game but I stopped at Trap team. Not due to the massive amount of figurines but Super Chargers never caught my attention as I thought the vehicles didn't do it for me and because of that. I never got Imaginators.
@@totalmoogaming2485 The only time Superchargers caught my attention was when they did a few characters and vehicles in blue for Autism awareness. Imaginators did seem intriguing for the chance to make your own Skylanders but I'm guessing the creation and the fighting styles weren't that great.
I wanted a remake of Spyro, the character that started it all, in Superchargers. They went with Pop Fizz instead which was pretty good, and Pop Fizz is one of my other favorite characters, but honestly they forgot to pay tribute to the main man himself- Spyro the dragon.
I didn’t mind super chargers reposes because they gave the characters a completely new set of attacks. Giving stealth elf, terrifin, and roller brawl a gun was a little stupid though...
I'm guessing that re-poses (just adding a Wow-Pow) were how dealt with the short one year development time for Giants. I started with Swap Force, and then got Giants, and so was happy to get the improved Series 2 versions. But I can see the frustration if you already had a complete SSA roster when Giants came out.
I don't know if it happened to any others but Countdown had a new Soccer repose where the figure (and in the game) was a soccer ball and was not in his original form.
I like the idea of them because if someone didn’t play the first game and the skylanders are now of sale you can get the second best thing the series 2 or 3 versions
I never got any reposes since I didn't see the point in having multiple versions of the same character. That and completing a roster without the original versions feels wrong. I also don't plan on getting the superchargers reposes.
Okay, i can understand the issue with the series two quite frankly. ahh good old reposes aka the same skylander with a fresh coat of paint with a different base
You got to admit though it does make sense there series 2 versions
I think the reason they had a lot of reposes was because if you can’t find the original you can always buy a repose and get the same one
I think that is one of many reasons for sure
and neat 1 of being able to have 2 skylanders with different moveset
