The thing in the middle of the door that you were wondering about is an antique kind of lock, I think. It's a metal rod that pops into the floor and you can lift it up to open or into the floor to lock the door. I don't know the name or anything but I've seen it in historic houses.

The thing on the front door is an old locking mechanism. From the 18th century. It's called cremone bolts.

This house reminds me of a dark brown Victorian/haunted house I saw in San Francisco. It had a complimentary palm tree and willow tree as well!

I created a gorgeous dark brown modern house and it was fun adding pops of colour that blended well with the dark browns. Think gold, some pinks and obviously the flowers. One of my favourite houses I've ever made.
