I don't generally name drop but you mentioned AJ Chapman, who I bowl in a league with. Last night he was throwing the new Black Widow Mania and just killing it. 279 second game and well on his way to another 279 when I left. He also mentioned that he shot like a 980 in 4 games with it the night before. As for me, I'll get my mania at the end of the week...
The foul line penalty isn't the dumbest USBC rule. There needs to be a foul line to keep things even competitively. There also needs to be a penalty for those who cross it. Maybe change it so the first foul in a game is a "warning" and then you are penalized on any more crosses in a game? A bowler who has trouble with fouling needs to adjust their approach. You don't have to be right on top of the line to deliver the ball. IMO the dumbest USBC rule is not being able to clean your bowling ball during competition, especially on league. If tournaments want to make that a rule, fine. Most tournament bowlers have 6-12 balls to choose from. But I should be able to use some 90% isopropyl alcohol on league where I may only have one ball to last 3 or 4 games.
I’d say the foul line rule is perfectly fine. I know it doesn’t affect what the ball does on the lane but still you aren’t meant to cross that line in general.
Agreed. I had this argument with someone and I used the pitching runner as an example. There’s no advantage to the pitcher not having his foot on it but it’s a rule to keep it there.
I agree with ZVL, the only time I cross the line is if my slide foot sticks. I almost hurt myself, throw a bad shot, and take a penalty…because someone else put water or something on the approach. Maybe change the rule to 1st time is a warning, 2nd foul is a zero.
What are your thoughts on the hy road max I have been thinking about getting a gb5 or a hustle x ray to replace it do you think I should play with some surface I have polished it and used it with the box surface it is up and down it has the nex cover like the proton and the infinite physix so I’m thinking it’s strong cover may play a factor
IMO, the X Ray will be a weaker but better replacement. The GB5 will play much earlier and smoother. And agreed, I’d try shining the Max because the old NEX cover looked awesome with shine
@ thanks for the reply I enjoyed the q and a both parts it really helped me on deciding on some balls to take to a tournament in Michigan in April I appreciate your honesty be blessed today and every day
First bowling ball... Columbia The Beast Purple solid. Took me from 120ish to 170 instantly. Then got me to 180ish Got a madness sitting undrilled... debating donating or drilling it up.
Great vid man 🎉
Great Q&A ZVL! That Blue Pokeball was very cool!
Love the channel as always

What’s a good ball down with similar shape from the scorpion low flare? I got it because of your recommendation and i love it
Do you think the Atlas Hybrid is a good Strong/Angular for a three ball arsenal? I'm contemplating Atlas/Venom/IQ Tour Ruby moving forward.

Drill it up my man
I agree drill it up.
Id say asking president if you and wash your ball off. Pir lanes are nasty. Thick, black oil the whole way around your oil track. It's aweful.
Big difference in 15 v 14 I have both in ion max, and the pins absolutely explode with the 15 v the 14. Big difference
