  • I bought my girlfriend a foldable bike. I live in Naples and the bike was in Salerno.
So I caught a train there, tested the bike riding from Salerno to Vietri, on the Amalfi Coast.
Then I had a swim, rode back and caught another train to Naples.
This time I had the bike with me. I discovered that foldables travel free of charge on regional trains.
Then I covered the short distance from Naples train station to Corso Umberto, a main street in the city centre.
The bike is not too heavy (12kg), feels light to carry, and moves swiftly on smooth roads. I does suffer a bit on bumpy roads, due to the small 20inch wheels.
The 9 speed gears combined with the 52 crank give riders a decent range, although steep ascents could be tough.
It is pleasure to swerve and weave in and out of traffic.
The bike is also easy to fold. Yet, scratch marks appear where surfaces and edges collide, once folded.
A front derailleur can be mounted for extra gear range.
Overall a very nice city bike, that I would recommend buying used, if you can find one.
