      The banana thing is distracting.
My goblins became Guatemalan and are still suffering under the oppressive tactics of a rather large neighbour, concerned with Uniting Fruit, and whose rather bellicose children seem prone to arrogance and colonialist bullying.
But I guess it's July the 4th again, and the ghost of mad King George is the oppressor de rigueur. So I shall allow my royalistically challenged, limey proletarian senses to be awakened by the yellowed pamphlets of old Tom Paine - though I may turn my back on Thetford!

I’d just thought I’d mention This, but the video ends very abruptly, was that intentional?
Because it feels like that obs crashed, or something, and you didn’t notice before uploading. Not to accuse you, but I just wanted to know if there was a mistake.

But its all on youtube for free, why buy it? The only DM that I would be tempted to get masterclass to watch is Brennan Lee Mulligan. I'm convinced that dude is literally the best DM in the world.

@@benry007 I would buy it to encourage Guy. Brennan is without a doubt an extraordinary DM, but he does not offer technical advices like Guy does. This youtube channel is a gold mine for DM skills, and it would be a pleasure to pay for it!

Gothic I. A video game with a prison, magical barrier around it, swamps, survival, limited magic and most elements Guy mentioned. It was made around 20 years ago. I hope he enjoyed playing it.

Thank you! My idea is a new (to us) setting; post-apocalyptic fantasy setting, clawing back 1000 years after an asteroid impact. I drew up my 3 random locations, mine were all in town this time, and I noticed they were all retail places, in a setting with a limited monetary system, relying more on barter. Allowed me to make adjustments to how they do business. I said the healer's house was made of wood, which immediately was changed to a mud brick structure without door, making it seem welcoming.
And the criminal system! Looking for a harsh, gritty, isolated: you are alone, there is nowhere to go, and no one is coming to help you tone. Getting caught here needed to be very bad. I think I'm ready for it now.
I am working on presenting the best game I can, and you are really helping me do that. Keep up the great work!

There is one very cautious thing that does need to be considered when planning and tourist. How to deal wth party trying to get out or thinking of usual out of box.
So part of a campaign where you are in a fixed location is planning the event that gives opportunity to get out.

Nice to see all these things being put together with an example.
This scenario sounds interesting too but I can't fathom why you'd run that in D&D. Seems like you'll have to work really hard to get the tone across given the power level of character abilities, the fast scaling, and the very forgiving rests. Plus having to discard or declare off limits most of the magic and divine subsystems.
I think you'll have a far easier time using an OSR system of your choice that's geared towards this type of adventure than trying to contort D&D into it.

So the UK Games Expo made you think of prison?!
Glad I can't ever justify the financial and psychological cost of travelling down to, and staying in, London. It sounds ghastly.
Interesting to see you filling out the stages of your system. Cheers for doing this. It's helping me to assess and have a clear-out of a few old GM habits. It feels more like pre-prep prep, but reckon it'll be valuable.

As soon as the pointy head of the hitman breached the glass of the top window of the goblin warlord's high-rise apartment, his uzi started spraying bullets toward the hall below, and did not cease until both his feet plus the one free hand slammed in unison into the hardwood floor, his legs doing a wide split. The surprise caught up with three goblin bodyguards and they keeled over, gargling, oozing dark blood as a tinkling symphony of glass fragments rained down over the room. The oblong yellow body of the assassin slowly turned around to the sound of the head goblin cackling wildly. The green little goblin ripped open his ruined white shirt, gleefully brandishing the frayed, smoking bulletproof vest beneath. "Nice of you to drop in!" he hissed as he took a serrated knife from a tray on his desk. The fruity avenger's eyes widened as he saw the brutalized carcass of a pineapple lying there. The goblin licked syrupy goo off the blade and said, "You're just in time, Bananaman... for the fruit salad!" And he lunged.

NGL, I'm not a huge fan of this system
I get the point behind asking many of these questions, but it just seems like a far too meta approach for many
Its a cool idea that the system ties in to how you want improve your game and, and your players expectations
but for me these restrictions more so prevent my creative inspiration than bolster it
I do like most of the questions despite this, and Ive been watching for years now
but i wasn't expecting this much advice on how to improve my GMing style... :/
