Not nice solution. Just 2^a=x is much easier.
What was going on with that logarithmic function? It worked out as 0.69424 didn't it? That was left hanging and I got confused.

My final answer is "a = 0". n⁰=0, therefore 2⁰+4⁰=8⁰.
n⁰ = 1 so that doesn't work
