I saw this movie on opening weekend. What a joy to see this event in history told with such heart and compassion! It was so memorable. Thank you... Kenneth B!
Loved the film. All the actors were fabulous and it reminded me of my own childhood even though l lived in Shropshire. The mum was much like my own.We emigrated to Australia in 1965.
Just finished watching Belfast. Loved the movie. A picture perfect performances of the cast specially that young newcomer, Jude Hill. Based on the young life of Sir Kenneth Branagh growing up in Belfast. He wrote and directed the film. Five stars.. ❤👌
A mention for the soundtrack too ! Glorious Van Morrison ……an enigmatic and charasmatic genius whom I hope to see in concert at least one more time before one of us falls off the perch :))
JUDE You was amazing in Belfast I laughed and I cried watching the film I'm sure the dream at the top of your bucket list will come true you had a great cast behind you but you are a 🌟
I got to go to a special preview screening and it was wonderful! Highly recommend! I turned to my movie companion as the credits ran and said, "We'll be hearing Oscar buzz on this one."
05:12 As for Jude Hill as a little Thor -- There is talk of the MCU making a Young Avenegers, no? He's got some mini-Chris Hemsworth about him. They've got one bit of casting down! 😁
Give this little guy a cameo in The Batman sequel where Wayne visits an orphanage and has like a 3 minutes long conversation with a young Richard Grayson.
I recommend you watch A Private War, The Fall and Anthropoid. Those are some of Jamie's best work, better than the Fifty Shades movie he has ever done. The man is a talented actor
I didn’t know this was based in the late 60’s wasn’t TV like long passed black and white by then? And the look looks more old fashioned, but what do I know lol And 3:27 is that from the thunderbirds?
@Ambzer Ambzer No. Black and white was very normal. The first World Cup broadcast in colour was 1970. Doctor Who went to colour in 1970 and black and white telly’s (especially portables) were common even up and till the 80’s.
@@emilymcplugger Oh thanks for the info. It's cause i've seen Movies that are really old and in colour which was what i was thinking of, for example the Wizard of Oz was in the end of the 30's, (But I know that was a rare one) I thought Dr. Who was in faded colour? perhaps that was a bit later on in television. I see that even when Colour existed Black and White still did as well. I also know that some things were in colour but many people still had a black and white TV. it's an interested part of history I guess
Personally I found it a bit cliche...I know people gonna hate me for this but hey..just can't help it,just found it a bit too saccharine and neat and tidy for my liking and for that reason couldn't quite get drawn into and believe the storyline or characters
So you found the fire bombing of Roman Catholic homes, the looting of shops and the paramilitary guys threatens to the family ‘saccharine’? You clearly never lived in Belfast .
Its a film...we are not talking about the actual events but how they are portrayed in this FILM....and no there is nothing saccharine about what happened in Belfast and the violence which I am well aware of...you are completely twisting and missing my point but anyway...its a strange thing to confuse someones critique of a film with actual events...you clearly are unable to see the difference
@@tomdichiazza9669 I didn't grow up in Northern Ireland but unfortunately can relate to the fears of the little lad. It took me back many years to an unhappy time. That said, I am so pleased I've seen the film.

Jude Hill, one to look out for. What a star!

Great film was well made I do hope Jude has a brilliant career❤

Great film and a brilliant future for this young actor. All the cast were brill.

Just watched Belfast today. What a beautiful movie! Jude Hill is DELIGHTFUL

The story was very well told and exactly what was going on I will watch it again
Am related to Kenneth Branagh and met Jude great kid

I am waiting for the premiere in the Netherlands. A beautiful story and a wonderful role for Jemie Dornan. I love😍♥️

I need to see this. From what i CAN TELL so far an 11 yr old held his own with the likes of Dench.
Wonderful movie… Jude is a very talented actor with a bright future. Georgine Bartalini-Kurtz
Jude Hill is in my class
I Loveeeee Kenneth Branagh to You and all You works.... 💔💔🔥🇯🇪🇨🇮🇪🇸💚🌹🌹🍀💚👌👌👍
I love Belfast and Jude Hill
This film looks amazing
Hope i could see it someday!!! 🤩💖
Since when have 11-year old kids started having bucket lists? He is too adorable 😊
Exactly what I was thinking.
Tracy, 11 yr olds NEED a bucket list. Elon will be sending them into space. Talk about the "sky's the limit"-- NOT!
*We will watch your career with great interest*
This movie reminds me of "Cinema Paradiso".
They could have him play Magni, Thor's son. He does have that blonde Nordic look about him. Seems like a sweet kiddo.
Such a great film
This movie has everything. Jamie Dormant is my favorite since fifty shades of grey.
I recommend you watch A Private War, The Fall and Anthropoid. Those are some of Jamie's best work, better than the Fifty Shades movie he has ever done. The man is a talented actor
@@800Ms-k6n I concur!

Talented relatable cast and director. Hope the woke Oscars do not deny the awards to those in this film.
He Stole the movie ,such a lovely wee Boy.

As a kid i had black and white tv in my bedroom I was born in the late 70's
The fact that it was in black and white added to the depressed atmosphere.

The movie is in black and white. So how can you tell whether the TV is in colour or black and white?
Irish ROMA
And Jo Jo Rabbit.
but different culture dude, Roma and Belfast have a different culture, i can see the comparasion but it's definetely not a rip off

Did they manage to shoe horn the poor oppressed ones in to this film too.?

Keep in mind the "masters" of Ulster, behind their walls and their military protection, are INVADERS! Military occupation.
