I remember many years ago, being a kid who was barely above driving age and seeing installs like this in all the car audio magazines. It all seemed magical back then that stuff like this could be made. Fabrication was what started me down my car audio path, which was some of the best years of my life both personally and professionally. I love that there are guys out there like you who share your knowledge freely and continue to move the industry forward. Great job, you are a bigger asset than you'll probably ever realize! I wish you all the success you could ever want.
I'm sure you dealt with the same " it's a secret, can't tell ya how I do it" type stuff Commercial electrician now, but man the boom box building days were fun. Best wishes
Its so crazy, Britt and Kevin told me that they were having someone doing this audio install(Ive been friends with them for forever). Then when the videos were released I realized it was you, I immediately messaged them and was like "Ive literally watched all of his videos, he has taught me so much that I incorporate in my business" I was totally geeking out, SO COOL!
I'm actually rewatching this roughly two years later. And I'll say once again you my friend are talented and your work is flawless. You've come a long way and I love watching your work, ty
Congratulations, Mark!!! Awesome job with your contribution - I love the red highlights, and the hidden allen key is a nice touch! As a fan of your channel, I'm really glad to see your work on this SEMA car.
Thanks for being a Patreon member and enjoying the video early! And yes, I figured that would be a handy little detail, always have the hex wrench ready to go!
You mentioned your growth in the industry and helping us learn the many techniques and tricks and your desire to one day build something for sema. I want to personally thank you for every video you've made and every tip you've given. I started in 2010 with my first vehicle building an enclosure. Your videos helped me thru it. Since then I've watched every video and grown with you and your help. Now, 9 years later, I work for a major shop and building enclosures and systems for dream vehicles. I also had the opportunity last year to build a truck with full door panels, and rear console enclosure for SEMA. Honestly without your videos, idk where I would be right now. Again thank you for everything you've done and cant wait to see where this leads you.
9:15 the guy 3D CAD modeled the entire peoject and still used a piece of string to figure out a measurement 😂👍 Just messing around, awesome build!!! And I just realized I live 30 min from SoundzPlus! 😲 Great job Mark!
I’ve been watching you from the beginning. It’s awesome to see how far you have come and also inspiring for me bc I know with my construction back ground I can make my vehicles stand out against the dull and boring crowds of my town. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this craft. You deserve everything that has come your way!
Said it once and I’ll say it again, watching your abilities grow over the years us been fun. This build is a testament to your perseverance and desire to do the right thing, the right way. Remembering the hand me down routers and pre router table videos to a full builds in a professional shop 🤯 Congratulations Mark.
You my friend are the guy Jesus Himself would call upon for a build. You are blessed and you are loved and it shows in all you do here. Stay in the light!
Great work Mark! I've been following your blogs about 3 years now, using basic wood work tools. Not many people share information and what you are sharing freely has helped me develop over the years. Thank you Mark!!! On to bigger and better things!
It been many years ,maybe 22 years to be exact, that have fabricated any really large scale car audio build.back then I only had a few tools and youth!! Now I'm in my fourtys and 20 years removed as a warranty sub for the street of dreams colonade homes jhon weiland homes, touch stone and ryland homes.15,000 dollars of tools and alot of skills.im about to embark on 5 new upcoming builds over the next few years,I just hope I can even remotely get this good !!!!!!!! Mark I love what you do ,if we had this level of knowledge back in the 90,s man !!!!!
Beautiful installation and fabrication! JL C5 are outstanding reference grade speakers. I have a set and highly recommend them for their accuracy and extremely smooth vocals at loud volumes!! So much that I’d encourage anyone with the time to make them into home floor standing speakers. There is a reason why they haven’t been changed in over 5 years, and have had constant increases in price!
Mark, I’m so glad to see all of your hard work in making these videos to help others learn and improve their skills paying off in your professional career! Awesome work. I am in the midst of installing two of these JL Audio Vxi amps paired with a 3-way active Front stage and dual Subs in the trunk in my corvette as we speak based on watching your videos amongst others in the industry. Again thank you because I couldn’t have done it without you!!!
wanted to say I'm appreciative of your channel as a guide. I cut my first box with a jigsaw later finding out I was basically using a scrolling blade. im still learning and ready to defend my lair with many sharp 'throwing' blades if it comes down to it
wow i been watching your content from last few months, you will go very deep into the topic and trying to share the knowledge to everyone in very transparent way. i am loving your video. As a audiophile guy at home, i was not clear with car audio at 12v you concept of explanation and way you get along is GR8. however my small suggestion please focus on multiple brand aswell so your content is more universal acceptance in every budget level.
I enjoy watching your use of templates. One thing though, I don't recall ever seeing you use rub collars on your router base. I like to use them foe a variety of reasons. Bearings tend to make a groove in the template. Also, bearings tend to get clogged up, causing them to seize. Using bearings also limits your height adjustment. With the use of collars, there is more contact with your template, they don't clog or seize up, and changing the width of the collar or router bit you have much more adjustment. One downside, the cut is not exactly what your template is. That is easy enough to adjust for, Plus, you have the option to plunge cut with your router. Please don't take this wrong, it's nice to have options. Keep up the great work!
Congrats on this, I know it was awhile ago but just wanna say you deserve this kinda recognition... Especially since you're so generous with your knowledge.... Good job bro... And thank you once again for all I've learned from you. :)
That is such a badass install, I've learned so much from your videos, even though I just do personal installs on my own rides, it's nice to know what I'm doing. I often have friends ask me to install systems in their cars because of how good mine is and all my knowledge has come from people like you.
Wow congratulations you inspired me. I am disable I use to work on cars but now I have limited leg use. I would love to do my Jeep the way you show you video’s with perfection.
Just getting around to watching this. Congratulations Mark on this huge step forward! I know you hear it all the time but you truly are an artist at what you do. Also an inspiration to myself and others on getting into custom fabrication. I have picked up so many tools from watching your videos. Thank you!
It's easy once you know how to do it, just like everything else. Although the technology changes very very rapidly. You do nice work, clean shop and quality tools. You deserve a sema spot.
You really are a huge inspiration for what the possibilities are for people like myself that dont have much experience. I'll be building a custom box for my gladiator soon to come and refer to your videos for advice. Thank you for all your wisdom brother!
What an awesome video! Thank you for sharing your work and your journey. You are doing some amazing things, and I really enjoy how you go into detail with your work. I think you have a perfect balance between doing and explaining. I'm really inspired by all of your work. Thank you so much!
Congratulations your hard work really has paid off I'm glad you got to have a car in the show I just got some JL Audio equipment in my car it is really nice
Awesome video, awesome project, awesome channel!! You really help keep my love for car audio alive, even when it's on the backburner; never stop designing, building, and installing!
You did real good Mark. Like the way you used the car shapes to inspire the design elements of the build and the color accents including the carbon fiber! 👍🏻😊
congratts bro que gusto que hayas participado en tu primer SEMA saludos desde mexico aquí te seguimos muchísima gente excelentes trabajos lo mejor de lo mejor y le deseo lo mejor y mas proyectos como este para el proximo año saludos
Awesome build as always!! But that hideous parallel port on the amp had me feeling sick inside! JL gotta upgrade their equipment to keep up with the 2000s
Wow mark. Just when i think i have seen you do the most amazing stuff you come out with something that blows my mind. You are without a doubt the most talented person i have ever seen. Great job bro!!
Man.. watching this is so orgasmic! :-p Love all that attention to detail... All the way down to hiding the allen key behind the magnetic cover! Thanks for sharing Mark!

This man went into more detail in Fusion than I do for anything and I do this professionally. Wow.
I'm actually rewatching this roughly two years later. And I'll say once again you my friend are talented and your work is flawless. You've come a long way and I love watching your work, ty
You have done an amazing job on this. JL is lucky to work with you.

Dude, that build level of Detail is insane! Amazing job! Kudos!
"I can take it in and out, multiple times if needed, without degrading the quality of the hole!"
i am a fan of threaded inserts now!
Same here. The only problem I have with them is the T-Nuts always fall out on me. Has to be a way to keep them in place better....
Mark you're awesome when it comes to these things. That is the reason why JL Audio gave you a call. Keep up your great work

You really are super talented. You give this Aussie inspiration and ideas to better his own in car audio.
That's what I like to hear. Keep at it.
This is your best design so far. Nice job
Thank you! Definitely my favorite so far, had a blast!
The JL TW3 is a fantastic subwoofer, no doubt. But I encourage ya'll to give a Kicker L7T a fair chance. That thin square can BUMP in a tiny box.
Really cool the curve u made.. amazing thinking ;)
Really well done. It looks like it belongs there.
awesome build log. great to see you getting more involved in the industry side from the hobbyist side.
