I think it's a little weird that your objective in the game is to rescue Alice, but at the end when Mickey and Minnie find her, she's just kinda chilling outside, not trapped inside the castle or anything
it makes more sense in the japanese version where the location names and bosses were more related to alice in wonderland (yeah they were changed in the international relies for some reason) cause the the final boss in the Japanese version is the red queen what doesnt make sense at all is level 4 because your on captain hooks ship for some reason and it has nothing to do with alice in wonderland
I played this game as a kid in (: late 80s and early 90s and I catch myself whistling the song from the 1st level every now and then. So grateful that I grew up with NES and SNES. The 80s and 90s were golden years for being a kid.
And then you realize you can't finish the stage without her and have to go rummaging through the stage to find the purple key which reveals a minigame to get her back.

This game was my first ever NES game as a kid. My siblings and I figured out Minnie could be controlled by the second player and she was basically invincible against all the bosses, so first player's job was don't die while second player killed the boss.

One of my first NES games ... no other game's ending will ever elicit a "what the HECK" from me as strong as this did. Not Pluto. Not Donald. Not Goofy. Not Daisy.... OF ALL the characters. Seeing comments about the original version make so much sense now.
The Japanese version had the Wonderland theme, 'cause the bosses were Cheshire Cat, Pelican, Absolem, Hook (why?), and the Red Queen; and Alice was the kidnapped princess. On this version, Alice appears as the kidnapped princess too, but I don't see any Wonderland character, the bosses were a witch, Tick-Tock, Kaa, Pete (the only one, cause he was appeared in Alice Comedies) and Maleficent.

I always liked this game. One of my early favorites. It is the first game where I had to take out a pen and paper and write stuff down. That forest season maze, I tried each exit until I found the end.
One of my first NES games as a kid. I remember using the same strategy to kill the first boss with Minnie. Never got to beat this game. There was a trick in the 3rd level that you could use to skip the boss if I remember correctly. You had to enter a tree like three times. I'm not entirely sure, but I was really excited when I discovered it.
