Reviving Salvaged Truss Beam into an Epic Workbench with Vintage Cabinets!

- In this video I build a 16ft work bench out of old truss beams left over from the shop build and some cheap cabinets I picked up for $70 bucks locally. My order of operations was a bit unconventional. I only surfaced the glue edges of these boards and flattened them after the glue-up. This ultimately made for way more work! I als did the glue up wrong! I should have layered the boards like bricks, trimming them to size as i go instead of after the fact. As you can likely see the bench top didnt come out perfectly flat, but it did end up pretty close to square despite the bow in the top. Either way, this was an interesting experiment of a project and will totally work for my use in the shop. The cabinets were also a super amatuer job by whoever built them. I ended up having to reattach the face frames to make sure everything would be solid. I dont plan one working on anything this long in the future but this project gave e a really good feel for where to set my limitations.
Always be careful and use the proper safety equipment when woodworking.
Thanks for watching.

I HATED the stain color until I saw it all together. Perfect!
Exactly what I was thinking when I did it 😅
IMO there is no more important work than creating your own workspace. My best days are spent making small improvements to what I call my ‘happy place’.
I do like your style (and your helper) - please keep going.
Thanks! It's definitely one of the most rewarding things to work on since I'm using the space all the time and enjoying the hard work.
Awesome use to create something so huge with (relatively) small tools! I love how much space you were able to give each of the benchtop tools.
Thanks it actually worked out better than expected!
Ambitious
Been following you channel now for a couple of years. I have enjoyed every upload and the thought that has gone into your projects. Your new bench looks great! Looking forward to all future projects that will be coming out of your cool new shop!
Lots of neat stuff coming up. Thanks so much!
Well done sir!
Thanks!
