    Many people want to move to Luang Prabang because the location is beautiful. You have tall mountains and river set in the background. The town has French colonial buildings built by France in the 1800's. And many expats want a quiet life there.

    Hello Bro 👋
    Good evening from India. We are watching your amazing video from Northeast of India. My state is nearby Burma. I am a businessman from Buddhist community. We visited so many times Thailand. But never been yet in Laos. As far We know Lao is our Buddhist a peaceful country. There are lots of Buddhist beautiful temples across the beautiful country. As a Indian from Buddhist community can I do live in Laos? Can I buy a peace of Land in Luang prabang? I would be so glad if you reply me as soon as possible.
    Sending love from India 🇮🇳 ❤

      Hey there, I'm glad to hear your positive energy about Laos. Yes, you can live in Laos on your work visa or business visa, which you can renew it yearly. But you can not own property as a foreigner🙂

    Thank you for taking us on an interesting tour! I love the looks of the buildings and the beautiful carvings and decorative painting. And the nature is so green, lush and beautiful! But this really is a reminder of how different it is around the world. Average house here sells for $4000/m² and this is in no way the most expensive area in this city. Not that I'll ever be able to afford a home here, haha. There's probably no noise regulations there? You can't build that close to an airport here because of how loud the planes are. That kind of freedom can be nice though, to not get stuck in bureaucracy. I don't think either one is plainly better, just different!
    So sorry to hear about your friend. It's unjust that it's so expensive to get bodies home. May their family find peace.

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  Месяц назад +1

      $4000/m² is a lot. For most Lao people, housing is becoming unaffordable as well. Even in the area I showed, it's ashamed that is happening all over the world. We don't have noise regulation in Laos. It's our own risk to take, to build houses closer to the airport. And besides, it's not that busy anyway. Only 5-7 planes per day, so it's not too bad🙂

    Nat, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. What a tragic story, especially with so many unsettling questions. Were the authorities able to recover any personal belongings like a smartphone, laptop, or journal? That might help give some insights. Regardless, may his soul rest in peace. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends as well.

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  Месяц назад

      The case is still remian mystery to his family and friends. According to the Lao embassy in Bangkok, claiming that he entered Thailand in early June and was found dead 6 days later in the resort hotel room. 25 days later they reported his death to the embassy. As they couldn't find any contact of his family. So in this case, it doesn't seem that they found his phone or anything related to, apart from his passport.

    Hello, my question is how much does the house with the land you show in the video cost? Can you introduce several houses, how much they cost and how big and what they have, toilet, bathroom, bedroom and so on? That would be great, thank you very much

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  Месяц назад

      Housese are vary and price depends on what it comes with, also depends on the neighborhood. A standard home in Laos with three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in this kind of neighborhood costs roughly around $50k-$100k. The big one on the video cost a lot more. And in the city it'd cost double.

    Good morning Nat, I am currently in Jomtien and wanting to head to Laung Prabang this Wednesday but the weather forecast looks terrible for Laung Prabang for the coming week. They have forecast heavy rain in jomtien over the last week but we only had one short shower in that week. Is the weather bad iN Laung Prabang at the moment?

    Hi Nat, just wondering if I’m born in Laos and going back to Laos do I still have pay for visa?

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  Месяц назад

      If you enter Laos with a foreign passport, then you're regarded as a foreigner even though you were born in Laos. And yes, unfortunately, you have to pay for the visa unless you had a Lao passport.

    In my first trip in Laos (mostly around Luang Prabang and Xieng Khouang), I think the first thing that shocked me when I was passing through random villages was that there were (very) often like a bunch of "old" houses, and amongst them 2 or 3 "new" houses (not necessary bigger but with new paint and with that porch with 2 pillars in front of the door style)
    I was wondering, was it just a familly that with enough money to build a new house or government helping them to build that kind of new house

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  Месяц назад

      Probably families built for themselves
