I find this one of the weirdest sporting facts, but Gary Neville once made an unbeaten 100 as an opening batsman. His partner who achieved the same in that inning was the lesser known Matthew Hayden...
Was that Gary? I always thought it was his brother. What a fact. Thanks.
Played with THE Matthew Hayden??? 😯👏👏👏
Nah you're tweaking lad. There's no way
@@pleasantville4529 Phil would have been the greatest English batsman ever if he stuck with cricket, even Flintoff said as much
@@vijays6911 but couldn't have made as much money as with football? Correct me if I'm wrong
"It was the bat's fault. It was Bruno's fault." Carra on point 💀💀
That was quality and I’m a United fan 😂
Where on youtube can we watch new videos of Gary and Carra commenting on Premier League?
@@mrdecor3060 Same here
Neville better cricketer than a football coach
The level is already below the floor
His father, Neville, was cricketer
Thank god he is famous for none of those
He played cricket at youth level,he once opened with mathew Hayden. Paul scholes was also a cricketer at youth level
Carrager not good in anything
The Neville kids are a hell of a sporting family. Cricket and football for the lads, football at the highest level, and netball for their sister at the highest level.
Phil is a fantastick cricketer, and was asked to turn Pro, turned it down for Football.
@@gregc2467Freddie Flintoff said that Phil Neville would have been an all-time great for England if he'd kept cricket up.
Carra actually got batting skills for someone who never really played
He played in school. It’s very common for professional athletes to have been multi sports in their youth.
Neville played at a very high level.
@@afankhan482 Haha I doubt at a Liverpool state school he did cricket. He might of but there is a high chance he didn't
Probably like all good sports people. Usually have a good eye.
@@BenLeinster He probably used it to defend him self growing up
@@BenLeinster cricket os in the UK sporting curriculum. It may not be mandatory but you get the choice what sports u want to do.
I'm from New Zealand and Gary's underarm throws gave me nightmares 😂
They're called armpit throws
@@varuns9723 lol, nope
Got it
😂😂
I gotta ask, why is that such a bad thing considering he got Carra out?
The banter between Neville & Carragher is just super funny. They're so competitive with one another it makes for great viewing. Neville's experience of playing cricket in his youth worked well for him. Knew how to use the bat
There is nothing harder in sport than facing a rock hard cricket ball coming at 100mph to your skull, ribs, groin and toes . It is mortal fear and terrifying
Glorified rounders
@@tf2368 I actually loved rounders as a kid. wonder why it isn't more popular.
And that's why cricket will always be less popular than other sports. Also, it's the most boring sport in the world.😪😪
@@mediacenterman8583 it literally has the most exciting moments per minute out of any sport . You don't have to wait for a goal to celebrate or call football is boring all the time and say that is due to style of play not the sport itself
@@mediacenterman8583 literally the 2nd most played sport
Carra: is it your valencia moment 🤣🤣
Stuart Broad one of our finest cricketers and seemingly a lovely bloke.
“His Valencia moment 😂”
As an aussie, I was raised to hate Stuart Broad but this video helped me realised I'd never even heard him speak. Actually seems like a top bloke.
nah, should have walked.
tbh I reckon most cricketers are decent people, just some of them have a persona they play into on the pitch
Can't lie, that cover drive from Carra reminds me of how Jos Buttler hits his cover drives... what a shot by Carra I must say
Great viewing, great hand eye coordination from Carragher, I struggle to believe he's only played once. Gary loved it lol.
Neville & Carragher can do anything and it will be hilarious 😂
Cracking stuff on display lads, great shots! Gary I was expecting him to be good with his cricket background however Jamie was better than I thought he would be! Good competition 🏏
His brother was the better cricketer
@@pesmerga182 yes your correct out of the two Neville brothers Phil was the better cricketer!
i love how seriously neville takes everything 🤣🤣
It’s what turns someone with very good but not exceptional sporting talent into a player who made 85 appearances for their national team in that nations most important sport 🤷🏼♂️
That will be true about every top athlete!!
Well done genius 🤣🤣🤣✊✊
10:44 "it's the bat's fault, it's Bruno's fault"🤣
😂😂😂
GNev played some blinding shots but he used to play, Carra's cover drive though...where did that come from?!? 🤣
5:04 Valencia Moment 😂
Never forget Gary Neville and the Aussie great Mathew Hayden once scored a 236 run partnership opening the innings
Great fella Broad, proper gent , and an animal when he turns it up to 11 , love him 👊
this was a fun episode! haha good to see neville an carra playing cricket for once
England world cup hero Geoff Hurst played one first-class cricket match for Essex, against Lancashire at Aigburth in 1962, although it was not a successful outing: he made 0 not out in the first innings, and was bowled by Colin Hilton, again for 0, in the second. However, he appeared 23 times in the Essex Second XI between 1962 and 1964, usually as a wicket-keeper, before concentrating entirely on football.
Sounds like he made the right decision lol
Denis Compton, one of England's greatest batters, for Middlesex and England, played football for Arsenal and England. Despite missing 6 years in the prime of his career during WWII, when he joined the army and served in India.
Beefy played for scunthorpe?
@@senlac.86 I don't think he ever played a competitive match, but he trained with them for a while.
Underarm at stumps is correct from there. Single motion from ball in hand vs pulling arm back to throw harder
Gary’s underarm throws were the best throw option in that position. He is low down so why waste time bringing your arm up to throw over arm.
Gary's laugh gets me every time 😂
These two are hilarious together
What a great watch. Brilliant lads
It's an interesting cross-over. The two sports are ostensibly quite different, but you do hear a lot about pro footballers who could have been pro cricketers and (to a lesser extent ) vice versa, but less so in other sports.
Not in the modern era ..in older times Ian Botham played football for Scunthorpe,Dennis Compton for Arsenal and a fair few other cricketers...i cant think of a pro soccer player who played pro cricket. Gary Lineker and others maynhabe played lower grade cricket.
just look at the Lyth brothers - Ashley was the better cricketer of the two when they were juniors, but he chose football, and signed for a Premier League team, however he suffered a bad preseason injury in his first season and was let go, and ended up playing non-league. Adam was also offered top flight football, but he chose cricket, and has been a Yorkshire stalwart ever since, even playing a few Test matches for England.
It’s because Football is a winter sport and Cricket is a summer sport. It’s not unusual for kids to play football/rugby from September to April then play cricket straight through the summer.
Ellyse Perry has played in a football and a cricket World Cup for Australia! I think it's because anyone good enough to play that high a level is probably pretty sporty and played multiple sports when they were young, plus cricket has the advantage of being a summer sport so doesn't clash with football like rugby or other sports would
@@Bloodclart16 once upon a time football was a winter sport.
They start the football season in mid August and don't finish until mid May. Only 2 months off!
i personally would have struggled to not bowl 100 bouncers at these two ,
Legendary bowler, and yet 'An England Cricketer' rather than mention his name in the caption!
"Stuart, dont forget we're trying to make good TV" great line
We need more of these videos
One day my pop came in and said. Come down and watch the cricket the pro and gary are smashing it. Very talented cricketer as was phil. He used to run round the boundary as training for football not long after. 🏏🏐⭐✌
Broads first ball to Gary was a no ball foot over the line😂
Looked like he overstepped every time
I thought exactly that. 👍
😃this was good stuff they both played wonderful coverdrives
Love this crossover
Fun Fact: Broad has a highest test score of 169 against a Pakistan bowling attack which included Amir, Asif and Wahab Riaz.
I remember well Jonathan Trott put on big runs. England were in trouble as well.
Let’s be clear. That was unbelievable
The "run 3" challenge...
I once got lapped by Tatenda Taibu (ex Captain/Wicket keeper of Zimbabwe) running 3... I was just turning to start my 3rd when he made the crease - he could certainly have run 4 in the time it took me to do 3...
The tagline " Jamie Carra played only once " .. 😂
Best segment ever.
There here again for round two
OVERLAP EPISODE WITH BROADY PLEASE NEV 👏🏻👏🏻
The camera angle could have been better :(
Any danger of not a no ball Broady
Gary with the dark arts was class
Great challenge guys funny stuff 🤣
9:40 thats a no-ball. give him a free hit XD
Yep big no ball that one 😂
Carras got so decent eye with the bat
“This is valencia moments”💀😂
4:58 valencia moment 🤣🤣
Let them try those shots against Monty Panesar !
"Has he just re-written history" hahah
Good laugh, well done.
The caption to this though 😂😂😂😂😂
Just to add to the madness of this Phil played with the late ANDY GORAM at Lancashire Goram scoring 94 what a player he was RIP GOALIE
Amazing what you can arrange if you work on Sky !
Enjoyed this
love it when footballers play cricket
3 of sickliest guys you’d ever get in one room
I’m actually impressed, decent both of them!
Neville (actually both the Nevilles) was offered county professional contracts with Lancashire as juniors. They were no mugs at cricket.
Never heard about Carra as a cricketer though...
Interesting foot work.🤣 5:36
Broad was bowling mostly no-balls. Always stepping over the line
Brilliant banta !!!
How competitive love it haha
Carragher always has the best banter
Not always
that competitive nature never really leaves does it lads hahahaha
Stuart Broad bowling No balls and Wide at Gary and Jamie.
A win for Manchester United is what I see, good one Gary 😁
‘An England cricketer’ that’s Stuart Broad
Neville showed that iq on numerous occasions here.
Rounders 😂😂😂
I wish Micah was here😂😂
Most cricket I have watched in my life. Carra and Neville are an entertaining duo.
Did you right up with those shirts. We need XL now guys!
Carra still looked better than Crawley 😂
What Neville looks good!!!
Great to see the childish banter between the three of them😂
Brilliant.
Wow Gary Neville take a bow
Carragher Vs Neville charity match when? 😏🏏
Great content
I saw somewhere Gary Neville and Mathew Hayden opening and mounting a 100+ partnership
Neville is a class bat
7:55 from that close a distance I think it’s advisable to throw underarm
It's not always advisable to listen to Broad, look how many of his lbw appeals he thinks are out! 😅
9:39 huge no ball
Yuvraj says hello mate 😅
These cricket videos should be made outdoors. All of them indoor nets for some reason.
Good stuff, that. Even made me want to have a go
Gary was out off a no ball 😅
Football's offseason takes place in the summer, right? I'd like to think Gary used the time to play a bit of cricket during his career.
Not sure Stuey Broad should be giving batting tips 😂😂😂
Outlaws ❤
Should have ramped the bowling machine to 90mph just to see how they manage 🤣
No way Carra's played once to pull off that drive on Stuart Broad! Most pro cricketers couldn't do that!
Yh some classy shots played by Carra
Good shot but Broad wasn't playing seriously..
Broad probably bowling at 60% and every ball was bowled to the same spot I noticed.
Gary Neville opened the batting for Greenmount under 11s..
Phil Neville played for England Schools in cricket as a opening batsman.
Stuart broad balled 3 no balls to Gary Neville 😆😆
Legendary stuff
