Jawa 250 type 353 popularly called The swinger is a motorcycle, developed by Jawa, produced in the years 1954-1962. The predecessor was the Jawa 250 feather model, the successor was the Jawa 250/559 type called panelka from 1962.
The swinger was the first production motorcycle to have a rear fork suspension using a pair of shock absorbers that were mounted between the rear swingarm and the frame. From its predecessor, the swingarm inherited the engine, which had the same two-lever design for shifting and starting. The frame had a completely new construction, in which the rear swinging fork was placed, cutting through the bushings in the rear part of the frame with its pin. The front telescopic fork had oil-filled coil springs of a completely new design inside the support tubes. The wheels were changed from 19-inch rims to 16-inch rims. The two separate saddles that were at the feather were replaced by a more comfortable double saddle, under which there was a third storage space for various objects. From 1955, the type 353/03 was produced with increased power from 9 to 12 horses, single lever for starting and shifting and full wheel centers instead of the original half drums. From 1957, type 353/04 was produced, which at first glance was distinguished by cigar exhausts instead of dovetails and a switch box on the reflector mask instead of on the tank.
