hi, great video!im having trouble with choosing what size for this jacket. im 5'7, 165lbs, 22 inch long arms,41 inch chest,37 inch waist...the size chart has me all over the place lol what would you suggest?thanks!
You are likely going to be best fit in the size 52 since your chest measurement has you right there and that is the key to a great fitting jacket. The 50 might be a better option for some of your other measurements, but if you can't breath in it than it wouldn't be the best of choices. If the 52 doesn't fit, you may fit better in a Dainese or REV'IT! jacket to best fit your overall sizing. @@bobbybuffet692 Resize. I'm a 42inch chest and I drove back to the local shop to downsize into a eu50. I'm roughly your height and size by the sounds of it too. See how u go though.
Is this a good cut for tall (6'4", 42" chest), long slim torso? I have Dainese Racing 3 size 104 and would want something at least as long, with maybe a bit more room in chest area. If not that, what else do you propose?
As far as brand comparison's go - almost all Alpinestars sport jackets will be better for taller figures than their Dainese counterparts in the market. Dainese tends to keep the torso length shorter in most of their sport jackets to keep it out of the way of the rider's waist line in the full tuck position. However, for those taller riders that does make it look a bit shorter on their frames. So essentially the TL:DR explanation; yes this will give you a bit more length in the Torso for your height, but only a bit. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our Gear Geeks at 877.792.9455 or CS@revzilla.com. Ride safe, -Pat
@@RevZilla Thanks for the reply. Size 104 in Dainese is actually size 52 with extra torso and sleeve length for taller riders. Hence, based on what you said, I conclude I should not expect A* 54 to be longer than Dainese 104. What I wonder is if they'd be comparable.

@@RevZilla So its not designed for Tech Air 5 - will work just like any jacket that happens to be big enough? It looks like same design as the one with Ride Knit fabric that says its designed to work with Tech Air 5 so why isn't this designed to work with Tech Air 5?
Astars calls out having about 4cm of space at the chest circumference for their measurement. We usually say - if you can wear a thick hoody underneath the jacket comfortably, you should be just fine. The jacket has enough stretch built in for the deployment, but you want some extra space than you usually would when it comes to sizing.
@@RevZilla Thanks for the update. I'm still confused though since the Tech Air 5 manual I just read says " width of garment when laid flat (B) must be greater than 1/2 of the rider's chest size plus 12 (or A). Specifically: B > 0.5 x A + 12. Is that 12 cm or inches?

The old GP Plus R v2 Jacket didn't come with chest protection, it had the pockets to add it which were filled with a foam place holder. Yes, you'd still need to size it appropriately with the Tech Air 5 underneath, but the GP Plus R line is designed to be compatible.
