The moderator interrupting Jeffrey Sachs must be put on a list of anti-democratic censors serving the US regime. There was no reason to do this other than to hide the fact that the US isn't a democracy and that nobody collaborating with the US supports democracy, exposing the entire narrative the West is trying to spin about it being "democratic".
Meanwhile, Communist China is the most democratic country on earth, which the West decries as an undemocratic dictatorship.

Not all of them. Granted, moderator Steven Erlanger clearly comes from a deep state culture, and can't tolerate diverse views. I don't necessarily disagree with Jeffrey Sachs about the most violent country of the second half of the 20th century being the United States, but it is for a much different reason than what he espouses, although he does have some inconvenient facts on his side. Beginning with the1973 Roe v.s. Wade decision, an abortion industry led by Planned Parenthood slaughtered tens of millions of innocent unborn babies in the womb under the obscene mantra of "a woman's right to choose." These evildoers killed more defenseless human persons than Hitler, Stalin, and Mao's gang all together, but ironically, population control advocate Sachs is o.k. with THAT!

Why is that if it is all so terrible. Why didn't China have better Universities at the time?

China started out 70 years ago poorer than any country in Africa in a gdp per capita basis. It’s not going to catch up to a superpower whose industries were intact post WW2 whereas much of the world was bombed to rubble.
It’s like giving 1 year of training time between a starving kid and an Olympic champion, and then claiming the exercise regimen of the Olympic champion is better because he’s more fit at the end of that one year.
Its better to see if they are relatively better off, which they are. 30 years ago about 10% of Chinese overseas students who came to the US ended up going back to China. Now that number is around 80%.

FFFing brilliant statement by Jeffrey Sachs!! The moderator shutting him down and making sure the people don't hear the truth! lol Then the moderator lying and saying he is ideologically neutral . LOL America only gets out of the trouble we're in as a society when we deal with the truth and honestly engage with Sach's observation of who WE ARE , then there is hope for us.

I have never seen in my life a man like Professor Jeffrey Sachs telling the truth with bravery and dignity.
The moderator interrupted the professor three times. When the professor starts talking about the US, he interrupts, but the professor says politely, "Let me finish my point." And again, when the professor talks about the UK, he interrupts, but the professor again says politely, "Let me finish my point." But the Moderator insists on stopping him and says, "Stop, I'm your Moderator," and the Professor says, "Ok, I'm done." And then the moderator says, "I'm not here to defend one system or another." WHAT!!!? REALLY!!? If you are not defending one system or another, a simple question is: why didn't you allow the professor to make his point?

Prof Sachs described the political systems of each of the 4 countries so well so accurate, no one could have observed and said better. ‘Democratic at home and ruthless imperialism in the world’ has been the Western system, no matter with democratic elected government or kingship. Why a person so bright and conscientious is not appointed as a government advisor? In stead we have the neoconservatism.

Hard facts are hard to accept. If he had been condemning China the moderator would have allowed him to go on and on. But when US is condemned, it is no go. This is freedom in the style of american rules-based system. The world is not stupid.

Underrated comment 👍 well, in the US you may invent or speak every kind of perversity, grotesque absurdity or mental illness. That's why they consider themselves 'free'. But try to restructure society, to redefine the limits of power, economics and policy and you will end up like John F. Kennedy. Or Martin Luther King. Malcolm X. And there are plenty more of them who paid dearly.
Whoever equates the reality of democracy or liberalism with freedom has a twisted perception of freedom indeed.

Thanks Jeffrey Sach to give your sincere opinion and your honest thoughts
I m Chinese origin but live in Singapore as the third generation immigrant. I studied commerce, marketing, computer engineering and business analytics… most of my studies have some form of answers but diplomacy does not. It’s was factual and the results of the policies implemented. These policies impacted the most of human lives yet these were left to a small group of political elites to decide the world’s order.
I hope there could be more justifications before a war is declared… and more studies should be devoted to study the impact of the lives of people globally.
