Thank you. I have the same problem and scale was less than a year and a half old. Withings wouldn’t replace because older Body Cardios only came with a 1 year warranty. Figure I’ll give the battery replacement a shot.
This process worked great, I replaced the battery and the scale now works, unfortunately, the new battery will not recharge. Did you experience this too? the battery came 48% charged, so I have a least a little time with it. 🙂
I am experiencing the same. But I have the original battery. I am measuring 4,7V, which to be honest does not look right and I am suspecting it from damaging the board.
JFYI and not nearly as elegant, I just soldered three double a's together in series and hooked them up to a pigtail outside the scale and that was a $1 fix until I get a replacement battery that fits inside.
I have this scale and now battery won’t charge. This scale is fine till the battery dies. No replaceable for most people. This product is a lemon and maker won’t acknowledge it.
older battery chemistry was an issue with cell phones too. There is a limited number of recharge cycles on those batteries before you just needed to replace the battery altogether.... they also have a shelf life so when you buy one, make sure you get a recently manufactured battery. I don't know how you make sure of that and it may be a matter of luck. I'm curious to know if you had to reassociate the scale with the wifi network after this installation was done? I'm about to replace ours, same exact scale. Thanks for the video it was very helpful.

Good luck, I hope it all goes smoothly.
Thanks for this. I never do these but really glad you did.
Cheers
I have the same problem. What size and type of battery did you use? Thanks! 😊
I enjoy the scales. Their instructions and tech help are not clear

I swapped the battery and still won’t power on. Tested battery with multimeter and it is sending power to circuit board. Any ideas?

I found the original cables to the batter very brittle and ended up replacing them with thicker wire. that could be the issue you're having.

You do realise that it is rechargeable?
Yes the charge wasn't holding for more than a few days as the battery had gone bad.
