I moved into my first house a week before Christmas last year, and I agree it is definitely challenging and one of the most frustrating and emotionally draining situations a person/couple will ever have to deal with. Well done on the wardrobe room island Jamie! You really are quite the carpenter! Gemma I'd suggest putting a thin piece of glass or a type of acrylic sheet on top of the marble wrap bcuz putting make up on there could stain it or laying objects with sharp edges could scratch it. amazing tips on buying a house. We just recently got a mortgage (self employed) and we visited mortgage specialist 6 months before actually applying for it and it was the best decision ever. She told us everything we should do and prepare in advance so the actual process was not that stressful.

Awesome job on the island. You will want to be careful not to stain it or spill candle wax if you use a candle on it. Perhaps a very very think piece of glass could go over it to make it easy to clean and protect the marble wrap. Can't wait to see what's next.
That is a great idea in making the dressing room island. I thought it was going to be just a tab bit larger to meet the end of your built in closet. Jamie did a fantastic job.

I have been wanting to wrap our kitchen counters for years in a white or marble but I’m so scared of stains like coffee, curry and spaghetti. How do they handle spills and things that would usually stain if you don’t mind me asking? Xx

For the island, I agree that a round tray would look really nice, although I think it would be better if it was wooden, instead of black. I feel it would be really pretty to have a bit of an accent, because there’s already so much black & white contrast :) The room looks amazing though, you two have done an amazing job.

I think put a large glass tray drawer on top/ with lots of compartments for your jewels and displays of glasses or items you use regularly. That will look gorgeous.
