From Toronto Canada, I came to Ningbo China last week, I was told the metro was built in the last 10 years.... I was blown away. Night and day in quality of service price it's an insane achievement that's all I can say
The Shanghai metro is older than that, if I am correct, 4 stations only on line 1 operated from 1993, and extended to 13 stations in 1995. Line 2 didn't open till 1999. The main expansion of the network was in preparation for the world Expo in Shanghai in 2010. Between 2008 and 2010 lines 6-11 were added, and line 13 also, as a special line linking the two parts of the expo which were on opposite banks of the river.

Very nice to see a video on Line 71. It is so familiar yet so foreign. In my childhood, many times I looked out back window of my grandparents' house, and watched Line 71 traveling along Yan'an Rd. During summer vacation time of my school years, many times my grandma stood by backdoor and looked out at Line 71 bus stop waiting for me jumping off the bus and coming home for lunch. That was the time when there was no elevated expressway and very little motorized traffic on the platanus lined street. While vehicles have changed and line has got its own dedicated lane, the basic route looks like remain the same as decades ago. Thank you so much for this video.
20 years ago I used to study at a university right at the Yanan'Xi road 71 bus station. I took 71 bus every week to city center and the Bund. 71 was a busy line, instead, there was 127 line also available. It is amazing to see they let the bus ride in the central lane (which was at the right most lane). Thank you for this video bringing back my memories two decade old.
