Jade I honestly just want to give you the biggest hug after this!!! You're doing so well juggling all of that, plus the criticism, and still managing to inspire millions via this channel and your social media! Sending all the love. Chin up, we've got you! 🤗
Thank you for posting this video. These are really hard and confusing times, and the thing to understand is that we're all learning, and trying our best. I really respect you for the way you handle criticism and how you keep being optimistic despite all.
dont let anyone make you regret doing something you have valued and made your life better!!! there are soooo many people worse than you who have traveled and met 100 people, dont feel ashamed or say sorry, we still have to live its impossible to but life on a brake like that when you get an oppertunity wich wouldnt be possible if it wasnt supposed to happen. thank you so much for sharing your traveling/every day videos from your international life, it really gives my day color

I love your videos and hope you have a great school experience in Seoul! Sending support and love from across the world!

was so happy to see that you posted! i'm student doing uni online rn and love living vicariously through your videos! keep it up and dont feel bad about doing what is right for you:)
I feel like it can be hard pandemic or not being abroad and dealing with uni stress. when I was studying abroad in japan pre-pandemic, when I was felt down at all I had a tendency to feel guilty like "I'm not allowed to feel like this I'm in Japan!" but having people in the same boat helped me out. it's great that you already have a sense of community there!
i really appreciate your apology, i’m so glad that you’ve addressed it and i have a lot of respect for you for doing so! thank you jade, look after yourself :)
I’m feeling really relieved and happy now to see you again! To be honest, I was a little worried about you and have been looking forward to watching your RUclips soon. Hope you’ll have some more meaningful time with your friends from now on in Seoul. It’s getting warmer in March, so it’s more comfortable and easier to go outside. When it comes to the Covid, exploring outdoors is safer than staying inside. I assume nobody will blame you if you travel anywhere as long as you’re wearing a mask. Wishing you the very best luck!🥳🍀

You are totally valid to be struggling even being so lucky to be studying abroad. Hope the Minerva workload isn't too much ❤️

I know some people can go too far, but you’ve definitely said your piece now so I hope you can learn and work past this. Ignore the people who still want to hang onto that issue now, they will never be satisfied. Please take care of yourself!
It would be interesting to measure the carbon footprint of Minerva students. Not only the plane travel aspect but also the buying of new domestic items like bedding, etc every time they go to a new country and also the electricity used to power laptops of multiple students to attend the same class
While this is a fair point and I SO support this (since I have never traveled by airplane for environmental and ethical reasons) don’t forget that the concept of a personal „carbon footprint“ was actually invented by BP, the one of the worst carbon polluters worldwide.
As much as the carbon footprint is a valid point but should it really matter that much to an individual. I feel like reducing the carbon footprint is the responsibility of huge corporations and nations (not the sole responsibility tho). I mean you should not stop breathing freely in the open air just because you produce CO2. I think traveling is one of those things. Like people who study abroad, backpack, etc to numerous countries, they must also be leaving a huge carbon footprint. If you compare them with Minerva students, they're kinda more efficient: traveling and studying at the same time (assuming that the kids who chose Minerva are the ones who want to explore other countries and would've done so even while attending a traditional college). But yes I feel like every organization even universities must put out their carbon footprint reports.
@@aayansh3919 interesting perspective and you raise some valid points but I think we all have responsibilities to make a difference and we shouldn’t leave it to those who we believe to have more power (ie corporations or big colleges) to look after the environment
I get your point, but I want to remind you that Jade is vegan and just think about how much carbon that alone saves. Of course everyone should live in awareness of our beautiful earth and nature, but we're also human beings. Some want to travel and explore the world, others like to have some meat. Hey Jade! As much as I see the rationale behind many peoples’ criticism of your travel decisions, I think you should take them with a pinch of salt. Do reflect on your decisions by all means but don’t eat yourself alive and over-apologise for every single breath you take. As much as your trip to Switzerland may not have been the wisest per se, in reality someone’s failure to sanitise their hands that one random time could in effect have much worse consequences than your trip. Just live your life and stay aware (as you already very much are)!!! You don’t owe anyone anything and who can’t understand or support you isn’t a good person for you. I admire you Jade for even being bothered to apologise... There are loads of students still travelling abroad because of studying even with the current situation, I say as long as you are being safe, make the most of the experience. Also it’s not anyone’s place to criticise your choices only because you have a social media platform. If everyone here is self-aware enough to type in comments then they are also aware that everyone’s situation right now is different. Why would someone else’s experience in a different country affect you that much that you feel the need to label them as irresponsible and selfish and demand for an apology. Especially when their content is clearly not with the intention of showing off and always with the right precautions.
I’m glad you seem enjoying your time in Korea!!! Namsan is very beautiful in spring. Beautiful cherry blossom petals everywhere, so surreal! Stay healthy and I’ll look forward your next video !! :)

Your apology is one of the most mature thoughtful replies to people questioning your decesions. There are good arguements on both sides of the question. The fact that you quarantined and are not doing more traveling for the semester is a good thing. This is a time with no road map and it is definitely hard to know what is are the correct decesions to make. It's important to take every precaution and you and your school seem to be doing that.
