@@hbkx5 He hasnt been playing Ash for 40 years. He did 3 ED movies back in the 80s/90s, and 3 seasons of AvED just recently. There's a 30 year time span where he did no ED at all except for some random game voiceovers. Sam should of just made a sequel to AoD. AvED proved Bruce could still do action scenes in 2015. Why can Sam make Drag Me to Hell, but not AoD2? The strange thing is, Sam has made no movies starring or even co starring Bruce every since AoD. Does he secretly hate Bruce? Why?

In the soviet union we had the first video-tape recorder in the village. The two tapes that we had were "Evil Dead" and "Nightmare on Elm Street"". I watched Evil Dead as a kid on a dark, rainy day. It was a fabulous experience, what i will never forget.
When I was in graduate school I was tasked with making a wooden sign for the Department of Oral History and Cultural Heritage (which I was loaned out to as part of my indentured servitude). Anyways, I woodburned a border consisting of all sorts of photos from rural Mississippi and its old timers. I needed a cabin, but just couldn't find one. I was pondering this and had Evil Dead playing and the solution came to me. I paused it on a shot of the cabin and used that as my reference image. Worked perfectly and I don't thing anyone ever figured it out.
If I recall correctly, he retired playing the *physical* role of Ash on camera. I believe he said he's still fine doing voice acting as Ash for projects, if that counts.

When I was 13, I gutted one of my Dad's old chainsaws to make Ash's saw hand. It was my last Halloween, so I wanted to make the best costume I could. The costume turned out great, but nobody knew who I was. Still, I had fun. Wish I had pictures.
Anyone else agree that the movies, random, and TV show especially because of modern times and things they can do. I've said a lot it gives me a lot of inner comfort, joy and contentment. Can't explain it much but it's rewarding. Possibly Bruce Campbell and Co's down to earth heart and love for it all.
The TV show was amazing. My daughter and I always got together to watch the episodes. It would be fantastic if they bought it back. The ending showed us a bit of the awesome possibilities.

I was in the military for 13 years and in 2004 I was deployed to Afghanistan. I was in a mounted Infantry unit and I was a 50 cal gunner. I’ve been a fan of the Evil Dead series since I was a kid in the 80s. When I got there I took some small letter decals and named and labeled my 50 cal my Boomstick. Army of Darkness came out in the theatres while we were there. Every other week we had bizarres on post and the locals would come I and sell us things. One thing that was a staple were dvds. A lot of times they didn’t work. But we would get dvds of movies that weren’t in the theatres in America yet. They were mostly filmed in India and someone would go to the movie and set up a camcorder and record the movie while they watched it. Then it’d make its way to our camps. It was awesome! The day we got Army of Darkness my company took over the MWR building and screened it. I’m such a huge fan and it was a welcome distraction. So the fact that we’re gonna get more Ash is amazing!
Hell yeah. In 2011, saw Evil Dead 2 for the first time at midnight with three of my boys in a little tent on a laptop after the late post on some tiny PB in Helmand province.

I'm surprised how good Ash vs evil dead ended up being, it's hard to live up to the originals but I feel it was a really good extension.
It blew my mind how the TV serie was good and close to the original. More so given current politically correct climate and other bullshit.

I still remember my professor calling me out in front of the whole class when I mentioned this movie. He said I must have been one of 3 people who had heard of the movie. He had no idea.

Hopefully that's just for now and they plan on a physical release sometime in the future
It's also possible that the documentary will be part of a re-release of Evil Dead and not going to be released separately.
