    Whitmire’s preparedness did not include making sure centerpoint is prepared….

    Why does a so-called cat 1 hurricane look more like a cat 3, and take as long as a cat 3 to restore power.

    • @MrIndman
      @MrIndman 6 месяцев назад +5

      A direct hit from a cat 3 would be way worse. We got hit with up to 90 mph winds, which is “only” cat 1. Hurricanes are nothing to scoff at

      Poor maintenance from center point and city with our area power grid infrastructure, for example trees were left growing under powe lines. Also center point was not prepared before the arrival

    How were you prepared when it took three days to open up shelters after the storm because they didnt have generators . Harris county opened the first one i went to .

    Reduce my mother effin delivery charges at a bare minimum. Why are we forced to pay a daily fee even when they fail to deliver. What a sick system we are subjected to.

    The mayor asks us to NOT believe what we ALL EXPERIENCED and ALL SAW with our own eyes. This was not a city "well prepared". A functioning, "well prepared", city would not still have trees damaged in the derecho with dangerously dead and hanging branches. Heights Boulevard Green Space is a city of Houston park space. There are dead and diseased trees everywhere in this space, still standing. This is a city that is dysfunctional NOT "well prepared"! Stop blaming the previous administration and do better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This is a clear sign that they are NOT leadership quality!

      The only difference between the 2 is that Whitmire pretended to be the cowboy that would ride in and save the City but now he’s being described as an overly defensive, self-serving, cry baby!
      He’s full of himself and full of hot air. He’s useless and ppl need to be keenly aware of that in preparation for the next big storm.
      His expertise begins and ends at talking loudly in front of cameras and you can sense Houstonians becoming increasingly angry with him.

    The discussion in the video is about mobilization of first responders prior to storm, not about CenterPoint, tree maintenance, or any of the other topics seen in the comments section at ths moment. Are folks even watching the same video? If so, are they even listening to the discussion? Apparently not.

    • @aao449
      @aao449 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@jackcrow3477 - Abbott’s “job” must’ve been to make sure that there is no power for weeks after every major storm. No difference with Centerpoints preparedness and no action against them which means that Abbott is making a ton of money from Centerpoint and its leaders so absolutely nothing has to change on Centerpoint’s part and there will be no true consequences to that company either. Abbott has been a failure.
