Poor maintenance from center point and city with our area power grid infrastructure, for example trees were left growing under powe lines. Also center point was not prepared before the arrival

How were you prepared when it took three days to open up shelters after the storm because they didnt have generators . Harris county opened the first one i went to .
Reduce my mother effin delivery charges at a bare minimum. Why are we forced to pay a daily fee even when they fail to deliver. What a sick system we are subjected to.
The mayor asks us to NOT believe what we ALL EXPERIENCED and ALL SAW with our own eyes. This was not a city "well prepared". A functioning, "well prepared", city would not still have trees damaged in the derecho with dangerously dead and hanging branches. Heights Boulevard Green Space is a city of Houston park space. There are dead and diseased trees everywhere in this space, still standing. This is a city that is dysfunctional NOT "well prepared"! Stop blaming the previous administration and do better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~ It’s interesting to watch the response, when the ones who insist upon accountability from others, are held to account. They dang near lose their minds. This is a clear sign that they are NOT leadership quality!
The only difference between the 2 is that Whitmire pretended to be the cowboy that would ride in and save the City but now he’s being described as an overly defensive, self-serving, cry baby! He’s full of himself and full of hot air. He’s useless and ppl need to be keenly aware of that in preparation for the next big storm. His expertise begins and ends at talking loudly in front of cameras and you can sense Houstonians becoming increasingly angry with him.
The discussion in the video is about mobilization of first responders prior to storm, not about CenterPoint, tree maintenance, or any of the other topics seen in the comments section at ths moment. Are folks even watching the same video? If so, are they even listening to the discussion? Apparently not.
Whitmire is like a deer in headlight trying to manage operating the city and it’s painfully clear. He’s so defensive and insecure that he calls a news conference to whine every day.😂
@@jackcrow3477 - Abbott’s “job” must’ve been to make sure that there is no power for weeks after every major storm. No difference with Centerpoints preparedness and no action against them which means that Abbott is making a ton of money from Centerpoint and its leaders so absolutely nothing has to change on Centerpoint’s part and there will be no true consequences to that company either. Abbott has been a failure.
Whitmire’s preparedness did not include making sure centerpoint is prepared….
Why does a so-called cat 1 hurricane look more like a cat 3, and take as long as a cat 3 to restore power.
A direct hit from a cat 3 would be way worse. We got hit with up to 90 mph winds, which is “only” cat 1. Hurricanes are nothing to scoff at

Trying to avoid a lawsuit it seems.
More prepared? THAN EVER? More like than NEVER
Pointing fingers was the only thing these politicians were prepared to do. No one took accountability.
No Accountability from the Mayor even after the deaths and chaos

ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY!!! What can we do as houstonians to change this because thia is not ok!?
informed vote?
@@mike_w-tw6jd yeah, unfortunately I don't think I live without the limits to vote for them sadly.
OMGGG Mayor pls,we were not prepared...
YOU were not prepared. You spoiled liberals will never take a self inventory of YOUR OWN responsibility.
This is an issue every time there's a huge storm here
Need to be better prepared… If they were prepared they did not prepare us.

BLAME GREG ABBOTT. HE IS THE GOVERNOR!
What constitues being "prepared"???? Everyone has a different opinion.
Whitmire is the Mayor of Self-Serving Statements.
No better than Mayor Sylvester
@@vg4life Agreed.
When you vote blue this is what you get

Whitmire doesn't take responsibility for anything I hope my fellow Houstonian are paying attention and make him a one term mayor
The last mayor was 💩 as well. Houston better vote for someone else.
The mayor seems like a doofus. Clueless.
How many of you have ever worked for a public utility?
We’ve gone thru many storms before. This one was woefully unprepared for.
Pollard ia part of a law firm just like Sylvester Turner, another sleazy lawyer. So what's new??

Thanks Democrat run Mayor and city council. Total failures, and people died from it.
you forgetting abott?
Abbott’s leadership has led to more fatalities.
Oh so now Whitmire is a “Democrat”?!😂. I thought the right wingers loved him. Now that his incompetence is showing he’s a DEMOCRAT!😅😅
You can't lay it all at Abbott's feet. He did his job. Then all the lineman get here, and they argued over paying them. Or their room and board.

Center point wasn’t 😏
