  • Gear Review. Coghlan's Pack Grill. Cooking steak, mashed potatoes and gravy on the pack grill. Also using .7 and 1.25 liter Imusa aluminum pots and GSI Outdoors shaker. I'm hoping to inspire backpackers who like to pack in grills to PLEASE PACK EM OUT!!!

I have this backpacking grill and love it, but have been carrying it around in the store packaging ... not too thrilled about that. How'd you make your bag?

Cool video. The idea of grilling up a stake in the outdoors is awesome. Coming from a guy who BBQs a lot, I dont think it's good to let flames hit your meat. It'll char it, turn it black and make it taste bitter. It'd be better to build up coals to cook up meat. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not sure if it would last a thru hike of heavy use. I have probably a dozen, maybe 15, days of use on one and it does have a slight warp to it but lots of life left. I like the size, weight and not having to use rocks to support it which is why I chose this particular grill. There are some small custom made grills out there in steel and titanium but can be expensive. From what I have read they to can warp if your fire gets hot enough. Hope this helps.

Cool, really like the bag you made. I would like to build something like it for my 180 stove. Great video!!

I've carried a similar grill in the past. I find the pack grill more stable and convenient. I'm already subscribed to reallybigmonkey1. Good stuff. Thanks for watching.

I have the Coghlan grill, but use it differently in my camp kitchen. If you wrap it in foil, it becomes a great shelf for seasonings. But that doesn't detract from its intended use. I like the idea of being able to cook directly on the grill and to use it with cook pots- that's real smart. Nice vid, thanks. Jb.

Great piece of kit and inexpensive even getting them shipped to the UK. I have bought two, also the larger Coghlans camp grill.

Great video and great review I'd say. Just picked one of these up and will be testing soon. Unfortunately its chrome plated and not stainless steel so i don't expect them to last that long but for about $6 canadian at my store, can't complain. How has it held up after these years?
    Cheers

How is the grill holding up? In my opinion Coghlan's have great items and supplies for the price.
