    Steve you are a Great Instructor, I started this journey a couple of years ago, but I have not mastered strumming, but I am on my the way. Thanks for this lesson.

    Hey Steve. Nice clip. I've been exploring rhythm and working hard to improve. I like to use a thicker pick, sometimes 1.3 sometimes 1.5 but it's important to have a light touch so the pick can conform to the direction of the strum. All the best from Newfoundland. JW.

    Playing with energy and aggression will open the guitar up, causing the sound to bloom. Much like a drum you need cross that threshold to where the instrument sounds like it's supposed to. "at a certain volume"
