9:07 This idiom alludes to the reputed heavy drinking of the Dutch, and was first referred to in Edmund Waller's Instructions to a Painter (1665): “The Dutch their wine, and all their brandy lose, Disarm'd of that from which their courage grows.” 😁👍🇳🇱

As far as I understand, "stitch someone up" simply means to make someone look bad (on purpose) by telling lies or badmouthing them about things that they didn't do at all. For example, Aly got arrested yesterday for being naughty, you know why? It's Maria, she stitched him up by lying to the police.

Ok, I’m gonna try to use all these new expressions in a real story.
I am working as a kitchen assitant in a bar next to my house on the weekends. So, last Saturday I MESSED UP MY WORK, and had a little fight with my boss’ girlfriend, who also works in the kitchen with me. I made a little mistake, but she hates me for some reason, and her response was shouting at me, I mean… a lot! I got so mad that I wanted to FLOB IN HER FACE and leave. Instead, I went to the bathroom and took a breath. When I got home I told my roomie the incident, and I was so nervous and angry that I was GOING ON ABOUT the fight for hours! I couldn’t sleep well that night. And in the mornig, I was still so upset, that I WENT OFF ON ONE ABOUT the same subject until my roomie said: “Stop it, go to work and fix it, YOU’RE DOING MY NUT IN!”. Poor guy…
So I went to the bar thinking “This is my last day at work, I’m gonna get fired because I had that fight with my boss’ stupid girlfriend and she probably STITCHED ME RIGHT UP when she talked to him last night”.
But, surprisingly, when I got there, this girl was suspiciously charming and my boss said nothing about the subject. I thought “ok, water under the bridge, everything is alright”, but I was wrong… She was being “nice” with me because that night she was going to celebrate her boyfriend’s birthday at the bar with a private surprise party, and I guess she did’t want to ruin the day arguing with me. But she gave me the worst tasks to do, and I had to clean the whole kitchen before going home. That was her revenge… When I finished I WAS WELL KNACKERED! And,of couse, I wasn’t invited to the party like the rest of my partners… (bitch…).
When I got home I thought that I didn’t need a stupid party to have fun, so I invited some friends to my house and we drank a lot! I WAS STEAMING at the end of the night! Now I have to make a decision. I’m not happy anymore working in a place with all this bad energy around, so… what should I do? Should I stay or should I go? (like the song). Big decision…If I quit, I’ll have to look for another job again. If I stay, I’ll have to pretend that I am happier than I really am. And I don’t like to be in a place with such a shitty energy. So I have threee days to make a decision. In any case, I should talk to my boss and try and explain to him how I feel, with the hope of finding out a solution together. But that is a conversation which really makes me feel insecure and anxious. So I guess I will drink a couple of beers before having this conversation, just to get some DUTCH COURAGE. I don’t know what’s gonna happen, I don’t know if I will find the perfect moment to talk to my boss, and I don’t know if I’m gonna be able to quit (I really need this job), so maybe I will BOTTLE IT.
Anyway, whatever happens, this girl can kiss my BUM! I don’t give a shit!

Hi, Aly, 👋I've been going through a lot since the deaths of my grandparents. Coz, my uncles are proper shitheads and they're going on about the heritage of my grandpa. They were both sick, but my uncles didn't take care of them, and all the pressure was always on my shoulders, but they find the right to talk about the heritage! ıt's been only 2 months! They're doing my head right in! 'I'm planning to tell them '' Do one !'' and apply to the court.
