My Chevelle has the same rust, I think I saw its called the package tray supports. Some progress is better than no progress, I hear ya, time gets spread thin.
For the rear deck filler panel, that convertible one will not work. Unfortunately, your only option for the deck filler panel is from The Parts Place, their part number BP10524S. Also, the package tray shelf is not reproduced for the 68-72 Buick and the Chevelle one will not work without extensive modifications. The bottom channel of the window curvature is very different between the Chevelle and the Skylark and the deck filler panel welds to the package tray shelf in that area. So, the curves have to match. When you have the correct deck filler panel in hand and remove the existing filler panel, you'll be able to see the condition of your current package tray shelf. It could be that you'll be better off patching your current package tray shelf.
Appreciate that! My package tray is in pretty ruff (bad) shape under the deck filler plate. I’m hoping I can cut a line across the panel (under the filler panel) once the deck filler plate is removed and I can splice onto and replace only what is really bad with pieces cut from the new chavelle replacement package tray. Thanks for the pointers, I’ll go check out the parts place.
