This video is about the introduction to Lens, the Kubernetes IDE. The world's most popular Kubernetes IDE. Kubernetes IDE allows you to take full situational awareness of all the things that are happening within your Kubernetes cluster. Lens is 100% free and open-source.
The journey with Kubernetes can be challenging, the learning curve is steep and takes some time to fully understand and get the return on investment.
This is where Lens comes in to help you, it is a user-friendly desktop application for all your Kubernetes platforms. It allows users to easily onboard and operate their applications in Kubernetes improving time to market, productivity, and increased ROI.
Lens makes it easy for anyone working with Kubernetes. It's perfect for developers who push proprietary code, need to observe that code, deploy the code, test it and troubleshoot it within the Kubernetes service.
The health and status of the Kubernetes clusters can be easily known by Lens. Lens provides all that you need to take control of your Kubernetes clusters. It's a standalone desktop app that is designed for Devs and Ops who need to work with k8s on a daily basis.

Glad it was helpful!
Is it possible to "export" deployments or helm releases made in lens to a git Repo? Would be pretty helpful if you follow a git ops approach

Thanks for watching our video. CHeers!
Can lens be used to connect to a private aks cluster via putty tunneling? or the only way to connect is via .kube config file
Yes, we only can use .kube/config file.
if an eks cluster is running on a private api endpoint. Is it possible to set up an access with lens?
You can use bastion host and sshuttle. For example: sshuttle -r 0/0
Can I use this for Openshift clusters management?
At this moment, the answer is No. You can follow this Issues: github.com/lensapp/lens/issues/4565
I am getting incomparable in the lens extension. I have tried different version but error is same.does premium only support extensions.i tried installing resource map
If you're seeing ""Getting Incompatible in the Lens Extension"" in Kubernetes Lens, it's likely due to a compatibility issue between your Lens version and the Kubernetes cluster. To fix this, first, ensure you're using the latest Lens version. Check your Kubernetes cluster's version and upgrade it if necessary to match Lens. Disable extensions to rule out conflicts and consult Lens documentation for known issues. If the problem persists, seek help from the Lens community or support channels. Regularly updating both Lens and your Kubernetes clusters can help prevent compatibility problems as the ecosystem evolves.
which one is best LENS or RANCHER ?
Lens is a Kubernetes IDE and Rancher is a complete Kubernetes management platform that provides capabilities for managing multiple Kubernetes clusters, deploying applications, and enforcing security policies. The choice between Lens and Rancher depends on factors such as your specific use case, the size and complexity of your Kubernetes deployments, your level of expertise with Kubernetes, and your preference for a GUI-based tool versus a full-fledged management platform. You can use both if you want and then stick to what you like most.
Metrics not available at the moment for pods in Lens IDE

How to connect private GKE cluster?
You can use a bastion host: Check the following doc for more details:cloud.google.com/kubernetes-engine/docs/tutorials/private-cluster-bastion
Audio quality can be better
Thanks for the feedback. We will look into it.
is lens not free anymore?
It is free only: kodekloud.com/courses/lens-introduction/

@@RobinHsieh-iq9ce you can click the button bellow where it says plans for students or something like that, there you can choose a free plan, no payment method required
You have skipped how to connect to a remote cluster. Not everyone has a local minikube. What if your cluster is remote. How to connect from Lens locally on ur laptop? Nobody in the RUclips universe has shown that.
