What's in this video is pure legendary, so cool you managed to get this 07 out there, also adds to the coolness the fact that it's a former in-house truck! haha One of the most badass entrances I reckon I've seen in Aussie videos... that mean exhaust sound from the lifter revs and then it just comes alive and rips through the sound of the wind as it sprints across to the intersection. Put together this white side loader working in the darkness, wet roads, bit of wind, nobody around, late evening time, all a big recipe for awesomeness =P Sounded sweet at the start of 2:00, distant revs and that traditional 07 sound letting loose. Those residents at 5:30 cop it good each week, get the full blast of the exhaust pipe across the street and then the truck near on noses in right against their front door haha Probably get a lot of viewers who won't watch this video as it's taken in the dark and "you can't see everything clearly" - but I'm soaking up everything about this PM collection service, appreciate every aspect of what's going on here. Spotted the motion sensor do its thing at 1:11, for some reason that's always gotten me going when you trigger the outdoor lights in the truck =D Had me a bit transfixed watching the way this guy operated, almost some kind of extra slide out just as he would grab the bin, the arm would extend a bit further before lifting up... something flowing about it, real smooth lifter cycle all round in general, think I only spotted a single lid get flipped too! So I'm curious, do you know how long bin pick-ups have been done during the night in Warrnambool? Are all services done overnight or do they also run some daytime collections in certain areas? I wonder if anything is different now with the four bin system in place... imagine the glass bins getting done at 1am! lol I remember seeing the garbage truck you got over there, 4x2 GenV from memory, epic to now see this recycle catch from your visit!
As far as I know, everything has remained the same for Warrnambool since I have last visited. The night collections have been run for many years. From what I have been told, council prefers it that way. I was told that nothing gets done during the day but it all starts about 9pm and goes out to about 4am or about there. The driver did mention that the DART goes out and does the more bush areas. I haven't heard of any changes being made to the collection times. Yes, this truck was a surprise to come across but then I also wasn't as there was a period where Wheelie Waste was buying a lot of worn out second hand trucks to keep things moving. Haha, yeah the operating was pretty smooth but then again, that is the sorta typical operating you get in those bush contracts. I don't know how the residents sleep at night, hearing that ISC05 going hard at it lol. Things would be a lot different now with the new Volvo trucks they have running in Warrnambool but I wouldn't be surprised if the Accos are still there. Sorry I took a while to get back to you on this one. I was thinking to myself, whats this bloke going on about me not responding and yeah I went all quiet when I saw I didn't haha.
Midnight collections always interest me, especially for an regional council such as this. It makes sense to me in an inner city council but a would assume it would create more hazards and dangers especially on long rural roads as wildlife likes to get around late at night. However as much as it confuses me it makes for a big excellent video. The truck shown here is a great example of a beautifully sounding Euro 4 and makes it hard to think that this breed of truck is becoming extinct with few and few within Australia. Wheelie waste has got to be one of my favourite waste companies with some nice rural contracts and particularly some of the mini GenV’s they own. All in all great video and I’ll be ready for the next! 🤙🏻
Ripping video here mate! Gotta love wheelie waste! As soon as I saw the logo on that thumbnail it was an instant must watch and like straight away! Certainly interesting it’s run in the night! Any reason for this? I love the old wheelie waste E3/E4/E5s! Hope to see some more videos of them up soon! I spy an interesting yellow bin lid at 5:30, what brand might that be?
Nice! Gotta love wheelie waste. Good trucks.
